Stumbled upon this joint in the industrial part of Gainesville, GA chasing my kid's "gotta have bean bag chair" found on Tik-Toc...Staff were awfully efficient- there was a long wait line to order when I walked in. The front of the house was very pleasant (must be used to the noon rush) and very helpful. the kitchen staff just plowed through the onslaught of orders. Out in 15 minutes flat. But, hey they have a fantastic staff and they have a fabulous menu! Barbacoa Brisket Sandwich - Smoked barbacoa brisket, grilled onions, chimichurri sauce. Wish I had had a stomach large enough for two more! So much flavor and the right heat, smoke, sweet, acid, etc. My kid loved the Classic Inked Pig Sandwich - Classic pulled pork sandwich satisfied my picky pull pork loving child. And then I saw the Triple threat: Classic pulled pork, house smoked bacon, bacon jam, house slaw, house pickles. That was a delicious magnificent sandwich. Didn't need a second sandwich but I needed this one (and so will you). The bacon jam -- is exactly that. (I gotta learn how to make that one). The combination of pulled smoked pork and bacon with the jam is such a heavenly combination. Just go there - you won't regret it! read more

I've been wanting to try this for a while. My s/o loves BBQ, so this was on our list. Finally, I had a day to go check it out. If you are looking for a place to try, I recommend. The brisket sandwich was excellent. The sides of corn and okra are very tasty. The slaw, although good, isn't what I would consider Southern style. The location is a little out of the way but good parking, so that's a plus. The decor is goth meets bbq unique and fun. Will definitely return. read more

Very good addition to the Gainesville restaurant scene. Pulled pork was excellent - good smokey flavor, tender. Smoked Turkey was also excellent - not overpowering smoke flavor and very tender. The buns were very fresh, soft and large enough! I enjoyed the Brunswick stew - a little thinner than I prefer but good chunks of meat, potatoes and tomatoes. Collard Greens looked to be fresh (not canned) with minimal stems and chunks of meat. They were, however, way too hot (spice) for me - it's easy for customers to add pepper or hot sauce to greens, I'd tone these down a bit. Several sauce options. I LOVE the sweet sauce. Beware the hot sauce - it IS. Didn't try the mustard sauce (not my thang!) Parking is easy and interior is an excellent adaptation of an older building. We went in on a whim while running some errands about town and we were wowed to say the least. The Inked Pig is cozy, clean and trendy. But it's all about the Q, and these folks do it right! I'm from Texas. I'm a BBQ fanatic and am a bit of a pit master myself. I know, from over a decade of experience, that BBQ is a labor of love and even the best BBQ places can be hit and miss, depending on the cuts of meat they get, the humidity, the weather, the wood they use, etc. With so many variables, being consistent is very difficult. The Inked Pig has been good EVERY TIME I've visited. My family is very picky when it comes to BBQ and they always ask to go here. Friendly staff and good food are waiting for you and they are very accommodating with drink refills and giving you extra sauces too. They also have several sauces to choose from, so you'll be able to find something you like no matter what your favorite type of BBQ is. Enjoy! read more

So. Good. Had the barbacoa brisket sandwich based on the cashier's recommendation of the chimichurri sauce. 10/10 did not disappoint. Meat was tender and fall apart and not dry. Sauce and onions were delish. Collards has good flavor and seasoning (I hate bland greens). Area is the old industrial area just south of downtown. An easy drive. It's pretty quiet on the weekends but you can tell the area is making a slow comeback as these buildings are repurposed (like the Inked Pig has) to restaurants and businesses. Lots of parking on and off street with picnic tables set up outside as well. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in town. read more

First timer here to the Inked Pig, recently moved into area. Was looking for a BBQ restaurant to replace my cravings that were previously filled by Fox Bros BBQ and Community BBQ. The inked Pig did not disappoint at all and as a matter of fact offered some excellent BBQ and sides that were absolutely delicious. Try the okra and creamed corn, never had anything quite that good. Really like their sauces, four different and unique I could go on and on but let me say this...I can't wait to go back and try something else.......soon. My BBQ Problem has been solved. The best damn bbq. The chimichurri sauce is amazing, as are the bbq sauces. All the sauces are homemade and it tastes like it. So far I've had the train wreck, which you should only eat on cheat day lol. The brisket, brisket meatballs (limited time offering), and ribs. All were executed well. The sides were fresh and had good flavor. Most places skimp on the sides and focus on the meat, not here. Even the coleslaw was refreshing. Definitely a bbq place for foodies by foodies. I spent some time taking to Jimmy and the staff. They were very friendly and incredibly welcoming. They even took the time to answer all my questions I wish the team nothing but success. I visited The Inked Pig in the fall on a quick trip to Gainesville, GA. This seemed like a great option for BBQ so we were very excited. The BBQ was good, but there were several issues that majorly disappointed us. We placed a phone order for a pick two combo, two sandwiches, the train wreck, a few sides instead of chips, and a side of Brunswick stew based on the pricing on the website (at the time) and expected our total to be around $60 to feed 4 people. Our total was close to $100. After reading everything back to us, she had charged us for an extra meal and didn't mention the upcharge for sides or the $10 for the Brunswick stew. So we removed a few things and got down to around $80, which we still thought was way overpriced for BBQ for 4 without any sides or drinks. When I got there, I realized that was because the pricing on the menu online was way off from the posted pricing inside, which is why I added a picture of the menu with my review. Everything was at least $2 more expensive than advertised online, which was a huge turnoff. I'm not used to paying these kinds of prices for a dive BBQ joint and would have gone elsewhere had the correct pricing been posted online. This place rivals many Texas barbecue restaurants I've eaten at. Everything I've ever eaten here is cooked properly and delicious. Since the pandemic, I've loved the opportunity to buy a whole brisket around the holidays and bring the magic home (and eat brisket for days...homemade brisket gravy). It's also very nice to have a nicely decorated, clean spot that serves more than just some pulled pork on a styrofoam plate in a converted wood shed like most 'bbq' 'restaurants' in the area. Well the ribs were good and also the fried okra. That being said the bbq sauce was thin and watery and for the okra they only gave me 7 pieces for a 4$ up charge.
