For the cost of the stay here I found the service lacking and the place was not kept up at all. Broken luggage carts, scraps on the wall. Un-attentive staff. Such a charming, old fashioned place. We were in town to take in Hank Williams Jr. Hotel had Excellent shops including coffee, old time candies, and pizza! George's diner was soooo good for breakfast. We were lucky to also be there when they had the town arts & craft fair - amazing talent. Hotel staff was warm, hospitable. This is not luxury by any stretch....but it's clean, comfortable, and charming. read more

We were staying in Meredith for a couple of nights so made a reservation at The Inn at Mill Falls. Most of the hotels in the area are owned by the same company. And the restaurants in those hotels are run by Common Man. I had expected for the price to enter into a really nice hotel. When we got there it was pretty late, and a rainy night. We were glad to finally be at our destination. We walked in and I immediately noticed a smell. Not good. The lobby was dreary and depressing. I asked if they had availability at one of the other hotels and they said they did have a room at upwards of $500 a night. So, we decided were stuck at this hotel. The rooms are very old fashioned and need a severe upgrading. At $250 a night I expected much more. The TV needed to be replaced as the sound was way off. All you could hear was the background music and no words. Our room was right outside the falls so all we heard all night was the falls. This is not a hotel I would go back to when in the Meredith area that is for sure. read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel. We returned to find the door to our room left open. We communicated this to staff when checking out and sent 2 emails. Sadly, there was no response to either email. We have stayed at this hotel many times but will not be staying there again. Not sure what has happened at this hotel but they do not seem to be interested in addressing concerns of their guests. So sad because it has always been a special place for our family. read more

Not asking for much....but the complete lack of response has me doing one of my first ever negative Yelp feedbacks. You have great staff. Great location. But when our stay had real issues over two nights....which were very well verbalized with the front desk and again in the standard email "feedback" I received and returned with my concerns....and I received zero response? We will not return. And trust me.....we spent a lot of money between our room and spa and restaurant. Pre-Covid? This was a yearly excursion for a small group. This is a fabuous place to stay if you want to vacation in the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Think quaint country charm meets luxury and comfort. The Inn is one of four hotels that comprise "Mill Falls at the Lake" -- one is a few steps away, one aross the street, the third is a wee bit of a walk, but it's a beautiful lakeside walk and you can even stop for a cocktail on the way. Due to the interrelationships of the hotels, you can take advantage of events/specials at the other properties based on being a guest at the Inn. For instance there was a complimentary Manager's reception at one of the other hotels on Friday evening, so down the path we went for wine and cheese (and fruit, and crackers). They had four reds and three whites, offering generous pours and no limits. Oftentimes you get discount coupons to the various restaurants at the Inn as well as the other properties. This is the oldest of the hotel group, and was actually built over an orginal mill -- hence the beautiful waterfall. It is built on a hill, so the lobby entrance which is ground level as you walk in is actually the second floor, and you go down the elevator to floor one, which is where we stayed and where you'll also find the big indoor pool with hot tub and sauna. Plenty of nice big towels for your comfort, and chairs/tables all around. We found the front desk staff very helpful; upon checkin we were given a map of all the properties, our various discount coupons, and a list of goings-on (including that wine reception). Within the hotel itself are two restaurants: a lovely, homey little breakfast-lunch cafe and a casual Italian eatery with a bar. Also, a number of shops are located inside the property: boutique clothing, jewelry, outdoorsy clothing, gifts, sweet shoppe. The shortest access to the Italian restaurant is through this indoor shopping area and down the stairs. Guests who cannot climb stairs can enjoy these features, though it's a big of a longer journey using the elevator to ground level, then going outside to enter through the handicapped entrance. It's not super convenient, but it is accessible. Beds were big and very comfy, wonderful pillows. High quality shampoo/conditioner/lotions, probably to tempt you to consider a visit to the spa. Good bathroom lighting, loads of towels provided. There was a neat circular fluorescent nightlight that doubled as the hair dryer station. This made it very comfortable to have a night light in the bathroom and still get a good night's sleep. Speaking of which, the blackout curtains kept it nice and dark, as our room faced the rising sun. Housekeeping was very prompt, each day of our three-day stay the room was nicely done when we returned after our touring. When we requested fresh sheets, we got them. I was pleased that our double room actually came with two suitcase racks. First time since I don't know when I didn't have to fight with my husband over who gets to use the suitcase rack! Wi-Fi was fast and dependable. Big flat screen TV with good channel choices. Comfortable wingback chairs. Two of them! The room key cards used contactless technology -- like tap to pay. Never saw this in a hotel. Olde New England meets hi-tech gadgetry. Love it. I would recommend calling the property directly to book, as they helped us find a better rate and also got us the discount coupons for two of the days. The rooms vary in size, some have much better views, so the prices will vary accordingly. We opted for a room that was on kind of a floor 1 1/2 -- after you took the elevator down to the first floor, you needed to walk up seven steps to access a few rooms over there. I think there were three or four rooms in that little nook. It was exactly as described to me when I booked. These would be the only rooms not handicap-accessible. However for a rate of only $109 a night I didn't mind the seven steps at all. Granted, it was still 'off-season' but it was mid-May, so still a lovely time to be there. The lobby features a cozy seating area before a fireplace, with complimentary newspapers, and free coffee and tea (quality stuff, not Lipton) all day long. Smoking is prohibited in all the rooms, but most have either a balcony or a little patio where you can go to puff to your heart's content. Ours had the patio, which had two chairs. Would most definitely return, and in fact hope to do so in the Fall. read more

there were a few things that could be improved upon, but overall, we had a magical time at mill falls! we stayed in the bell tower room which i highly recommend - it was spacious with great views, the bed was super comfortable, and the whirlpool tub was a nice bonus. the small issues we had were: the mini fridge did not work, the whirlpool tub would randomly turn on throughout the night, it could have been more thoroughly cleaned (there was a wine bottle left on the balcony when we arrived), and we had no blankets/sheets for the couch even though we specified three guests when we reserved the room. additionally, the tap water tasted off and was discolored, and there was no water cooler in the lobby - we were filling up our water bottles at every restaurant we went to over the weekend. in the grand scheme of things, though, that was all minor! the grounds for all of the properties are STUNNING. the inn itself is obviously a historic building, so it makes sense that it has some wear and tear, but imo it added to the charm. each building has a unique character and we enjoyed the facilities at church landing every day - from the indoor/outdoor hot tub to the pool table and gorgeously decorated libraries. a lot of thought and care has gone into this resort, and it's very evident! read more

Stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday. Rooms were clean, staff very helpful, loved all the sitting areas. Did meet some very nice people while working on all the different puzzles. They even put out turkey with all the trimming Thanksgiving night for those who needed the "evening" leftovers. Would most certainly go back. read more

The Marketplace at Mill Falls has a number of great shops. Perfect for passing the time while waiting for your dinner buzzer to go off or collecting some extra holiday stocking stuffers. Plenty of "local" items as well as a few boutique jewelry and clothing shops. read more

This is a glorified roadside motel, but it comes with a very hefty per night price tag. It is so bad that I feel taken advantage of. The air conditioning unit was leaking water into the room. It made the room so humid and smelly that we couldn't use it, which meant our room was hot and uncomfortable. The mattress and sheets were cheep. The property is just a bunch of parking lots overlooking the marina. read more

The overall hotel is okay, but they leave these cards on your bed stating that if you leave them on the bed, they will change your sheets, and if you don't then they won't change them. My husband and I left the card on our bed and when we returned we can tell that the sheets have not been changed. I'm actually currently staying here, but feel so angry that I was lied too!! Not what I would expect from what is considered a nice hotel. I am extremely disappointed and would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Not worth the money. read more

The employees are really nice. The first issue I had was checking Inn. There are three hotels in this group. I drove to the hotel I booked and it said to check in at another hotel. No address or direction as to where the property was (to be fair, it said check in at church landing. Was not even sure that was a hotel or area or what). Second issue was our toilet would not flush and I notified front desk of this at 930 am. Went out sightseeing, came at 330 pm, toilet still would not flush. Had to use restroom by pool. Engineer cam out at 415 pm. We had 530 dinner reservations so it made freshening up inconvenient. After this we asked for late checkout the next day and they said the hotel was full. Well, there were plenty of rooms available online. Another issue I had was the website made it seem the property was on the lake. This particular hotel is across from the lake. To use the amenities you have to go to the church landing property (an easy walk, but I was looking to be right on the lake). The area is very nice and again, the staff at the hotel was nice but for what I paid I expected a little more (even in the time of covid) read more

Perfectly clean, friendly, youthful attitudes m, refined experienced professional staff, large property, great food, great pub, excellent brunch , comfortable large rooms. Many of us stayed for a wedding and were there several days and really drilled down on all the facility in the middle of winter so we had plenty of tome to scrutinize. The location, Meredith, is nice quaint lakeside town. The room at Mill Falls Inn was the only room we could find still available when booking late for the 4th of July. Unfortunately, I was super disappointed in the hotel. First and foremost, I was very upfront with the hotel staff when booking the room. I was booking two rooms for my fathers birthday, who is very sick and mobility impaired because of this. I made it very clear that stairs and long walking was not something he could physically handle. I asked lots of questions about the hotel, if it was situated for people with disabilities, if there was a long walk to his room, etc. They told me the hotel was set up for people with disabilities and it would work out fine. The hotel staff failed to inform me that the shops and restaurants were located on a 3-story area, with borderline treacherous stairs. They did NOT have elevators to access this area. This puts people with disabilities in an awkward position; they want to be part of the group and attend restaurants with their non-disabled guests and put their health in harms way to do so. Also the whole Inn is situated atop a large and steep hill. The hallways throughout the Inn are long to access and exterior door, and ramps and staircases separate many of the areas. Frankly, it is one of the least accommodating hotels for people with physical disabilities that we have ever been to. I would have expected and appreciated more candor from the hotel staff regarding the accessibility of the premises. read more
