I don't live in Bend, OR; however, I found The iPhone Guy while doing a google search on iPhone trade in programs. I was able to get a top trade in value for two iPhones. Very easy process. I sent the phone with a prepaid shipping label, received an email when it was accepted and a value for trade in. I was cut a check pretty quickly too. I did have to email once just to make sure the process was going well, but that is because I was a little skeptical. This business can be trusted and I would use them again for all iPhone trade in. Nick is not a good guy. I brought my iphone X in with a cracked screen to get an estimate of repair costs and determine what the phone is worth. When I did not accept his low offer to purchase the phone he became very upset, rude and returned my phone after damaging the ribbon connector to the proximity sensor unit. This renders the facial recognition inoperative, which is locked to the serial number of the phone. It was proven that this damage could not have occurred when the screen was damaged, as the ribbon connector is below a metal plate with now damage. It was done through carelessness or malfeasance. read more

This review may change at a later date but for now it gets 1 star. I am very understanding and considerate that during the release of a new phone things can get busy and backed up. But after they had my phone over a week without any contact I sent an email. I was then told that they hoped to fill all order within 24-48 hours and I would receive an email confirming my offer. I then sent another follow up email and was sent an offer for $40 less than the price I was given on their website and the confirmation email they sent before i even sent them my ph. For future customers you should be more specific on your process via your website. No where on your website does it state that the quote given online isn't what you'll be sent. An additional email confirming the amounts for each device was even sent and absolutely nothing was mentioned about the possibility of a price change. It wasn't until I inquired about the delay/lack of communication that you mentioned an "offer". Making deductions after already agreeing on a price is pretty shady business practice, but hey what goes around comes around. read more

They replaced a cracked screen on my new iPhone 5 and a few months later the glass started to lift, so I took it in for a follow-up repair. Left phone with them FULLY functional (with exception of lifting glass) for 25 min, came back and phone TOTALLY nonfunctional (screen black)! Owner blamed it on a faulty "front" camera?? What actually happened was when he was "fixing his previous repair (lifting screen) he fried the wire that is connected to camera which totally fried phone. It's all over the internet - very common when UNAUTHORIZED repair shop makes repairs because they lack the approved tools to perform repairs safely. Owner totally UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE! He didn't take responsibilty for his damage to the camera and wanted to charge me to repair it! STAY AWAY.... read more

I had a minor repair done at this establishment approximately 30 days ago. Shortly after the repair I tried plugging my ear piece into the phone. The phone plug would not accept the cord plug. Unfortunately I was not able to return to the business until this week. When I presented the phone to the owner and told him the problem he did a brief examination. He then told me there was a "small orange ball" inside stopping the cord plug. I said I had not had any issue prior to the repair. His response was something I have never experienced from any business...."Are YOU blaming us??" I then explained it worked before the repair and he said...Are YOU blaming us for this issue??" What response can a question like that receive? Needless to say I was completely blown away by his incredible lack of customer service and professionalism, took my phone and left. So far I have mentioned this issue to many people and they all had the same reaction..shock and amazement. I doubt this business will be on their "frequenting list". I work in the retail industry, if I or any of my co-workers ever said something like that to a customer their employment would be short lived. read more

Power button on my iPhone 4s stopped working, common defect on Apple phones apparently. Scheduled an appointment with the iPhone Guy on a Sunday with an hour notice and he was there, I was in and out in about fifteen minuets. Impressive since the design of the phone basically requires the entire thing be disassembled to get at the power button. Checked out all the competition in-town, but iPhone Guy did for $40 what everyone else wanted $100 for. No brainier. I probably owe him a half rack for blowing up his Sunday :) read more

I totally shattered the glass screen on my iPhone, checked with the Verizon store and Batteries & Bulbs and the best price I could get was $99, so I had decided to try and live with it, as our contract is almost over and I would wait to get a new phone. I brought my Ipad Mini to the iphone guy for a home button repair. Informed screen would need to be replaced to repair home button. It was approx $150 repair 1st Issue: Device was returned with cracked antenna cover on top of ipad. On initial inquiry I was informed that any prior damage would have been documented by technicians when the device arrived and we would be able to establish if it had occurred when device was in their care. If it wasn't documented they would be able to fix it no problems. I walked out of the store pretty happy. I was notified by text message that the device was ready to be collected- they state this damage was common and not a feasible repair. Further stating that it is not a requirement of technicians to check this on intake: the checks consist of overall rear casing condition and functionality only. I wasn't too happy with this news and also the delivery by text message not a phone call. I was not happy with this response and very disappointed that there is a complete breakdown in the process for care and recording condition of device. I do not think the onus should be on the customer to prove the condition of their device form hand over to when it is collected. When collecting the device in store I was informed that the antenna cover is not replaceable, and if it were they would just fix it. Once again leaving me with a bad taste that it was a financial decision not to repair the damage that they had not recorded on intake of the device. There was a process break down and as a customer- I felt like I was told "we didn't check the device first- so it is your problem not ours". I walked out of the store with the impression re-skining the device would be very expensive so all liability was denied. I understand that I cannot prove the device was damaged in their care- but nor should I have too, If their process doesn't protect them from accidental damage in their care, why should the customer have to prove damage was caused. I was offered a free $50 screen cover to smooth the issue over, I did not accept this as I was not fishing for a hand out. I just want my device returned in the condition I dropped it off. I handed my device over in good faith that skillful work and due care would be taken with my device. I think that this is reasonable for any customer. 2nd issue: When using the device weeks after repair (i use the device for mapping software in remote areas) the device began to play up with issue with the new screen that was fitted. It became unusable several hours from reception- Not ideal. I was pretty frustrated. I returned the device under warranty but was not given any guarantees until the device was opened to see what was occurring, I was verbally informed I would know by the end of the week. Two weeks later I was yet to hear anything. I emailed and received a response that my phone number had been listed incorrectly and they had been trying to contact me the device was ready to be collected. My phone number had been used with the prior correspondence with no issue so it was disappointing that I was waiting around for no reason. Overall not stoked with the experience. Damage to cover- superficial but frustrating Faulty screen replacement- frustrating that this occurred but was resolved. 1 star. Logging incorrect contact details for warranty repair- very Frustrating - all my correct details had been available prior. I wont be returning any time soon. I had heard great things but my experience was a nightmare. 1 star, Total 2 stars. read more

I purchased a phone from the iPhone Guy. He rated it an A and mentioned no flaws. When I turned it on at home it was obvious that it had screen burn. When contacted he admitted it had it and said it was my fault, even though he did not mention this issue at all. He begrudgingly took the phone back and then REFUSED to refund me. I had to open up a PayPal claim then dispute. He had his defective phone and my money in his possession for a month before PayPal did the right thing and refunded me. If you're buying a used phone, you probably are in the position that losing $300 for a month matters. Stay away from this seller at all costs. read more

I took my phone in for what I was told a simple fix only to be left with a bricked iPhone 6. Due to the new apple update it is impossible to update your phone with any 3rd party parts. Error 56 will pop up meaning it recognizes that there is non apple parts installed. I wasn't told this as a warning and found out the hard way. Paid $170 for a phone that didn't work longer than a day. After Apple diagnosed the problem I went back to the "iPhone guy" only to be told we know what we're doing here. Then he preceded to tell me it was the motherboard and not error 56. Which he has never heard about. He knows about it now, but at my expense. He won't tell you but I will, if he fixes it ... Don't update your phone to new software because it will brick your phone. I would rather have my old broken screen back and the money I paid for this new 3rd party one that has left my iPhone helpless. Thought I would save money here but only received attitude in return, just for bringing something to his attention. This guy is horrible. might have good prices sometimes, but thats because he gets his parts from china. they aren't real or original iphone or samsung parts. so if you get your screen repaired it will break a lot more easily or even start to turn yellow over time. When i went to get my S4 LED and glass replaced, the touch screen didnt even work. he obviously didn't charge me anything. When i asked if he knew of anyone else in town he said "I dont recommend other stores in town because i know where they get their parts and they are not good". however he must have been talking about himself, because when i took it somewhere else they pointed out that the screen didnt even say samsung on top and it was completely unoriginal. don't go here. I recommend iRoot, they did a great job repairing my phone in 20 minutes, with completely original samsung parts. read more

I paid 75$ for my broken screen to be fixed. It was replaced but when I got home the touch screen did not work (90% of the time). They said it was the "mother board" and refused to work on it (too much heat from the heat gun they use to remove screen). Ironic it worked until the day it went to the shop. The lady at the counter was rude and unprofessional. I had to send a voice text due to the screen not working . Text showed deviled. When I made it back to the shop she essentially called me a lair, saying I did not notify them that my screen was not working. You advertise LIFETIME WARRANTY. My encounter with "the guy" was fine, quiet and professional. Dude get rid of that lady helping customers, she will ruin you. I've already pointed friends elsewhere because of her. Recently I went in to get my iPhone 5s screen fixed. Girl working the computer was super friendly and willing to help. After replacing my screen and having my frame bent back into place it was a total of $90. After a few days I noticed there was a delay when typing on my phone. Therefore I took it back in considering I was guaranteed a warranty. I went in by myself and the owner continued to tell me it was working fine. However when I showed him the issue I was noticing he simply said I wasn't pushing the button, then he tried it for himself and the screen was not responsive. He said he would replace the screen but I needed to come back in a few hours because they didn't have the screen in stock. Adding that I am only 16 years old and he was an adult I felt uncomfortable with how rude he was to me. When I went back in a few hours later I had my dad come along. After my dad asked what was going on with my phone, I added that I didn't understand why the owner said nothing was wrong with it after I witnessed him watch the delay my screen had. He then replied to me "We are replacing the phone for free so you don't need to argue with me" in a snarky tone. iPhone guy if you see this...I paid you $90 to fix my phone not to be rude to me when I confront you with a problem. Granted a form of liquid had seeped between my phone and the back of my case that shouldn't have done anything to my screen. I don't plan on ever revisiting your store again due to the amount of disrespect you showed me. If you plan on continuing your business I highly suggest you approach customers with a better attitude. May be a good idea to always remember that your negative remarks do affect others. Other than that I appreciate you fixing my screen but I will not be revisiting your store and I will advise others not to as well. read more

I took in my iPhone to get the screen replaced today. I had made an appointment online, which only took about 30 seconds of my time. I showed up for my appointment right on time, the iPhone guy (sorry, don't know his name!) repaired my screen in less than 10 min. He also fixed some splotches in my screen from some water damage that happened a few weeks back without an extra charge. In fact, I didn't even know he was going to fix that until I got back to my car and looked at my phone, so thank you so much! 5 stars is "woohoo! As good as it gets!" is there an option for better or more stars? I probably shouldn't be telling you that this guy is that good because he is so busy. BUT He had about 3 orders and 2 others in line and asked me to leave the Iphone 4s for about 30 minutes, I looked around and thought, I don't know about this with so many phones and orders. I'll be damned if that guy didn't have that glass face fixed and was putting it together for another 1 minute after we got there. No problems. This is service I wished we had in all aspects. I've never written a review before and don't like the idea of writing a negative one, but am hopeful that sharing my experience might prevent others from having to deal with what I dealt with. I took my perfectly functioning phone in for a screen repair and walked away with a completely dysfunctional phone. The touch screen only works occasionally, calls are dropped, sometimes the phone will turn off and wont turn back on, ghosting, etc. I've gone in a couple times to see what he can do for me given that I signed a warranty agreement before he performed the "repair" and each time he has been extremely rude and disrespectful: raising his voice, refusing to give me information, telling me he didn't have time to talk to me and that I was wasting his time. His best offer was to put my old broken screen back on. I understand that things happen and though I was disappointed that he broke my phone, I was most disappointed by his blatant disrespect and his unacceptable customer service.
