Great show by Ed Palermo Big Band. Fantastically talented musicians, especially the Baritone Sax. Ed Palermo is a passionately creative entertainer.

I went to see Rachel and Omar Hakim perform live, and it was one of the best jazz performances that I've seen in a long time! The concert was amazing,- I was completely captivated and the music was nothing short of inspiring! The energy was just high the entire night, to which I will always have a fond memory of such a legendary night in music history Unfortunately, I had to give Iridium a three star rating because of the service that I received. The server was a young lady with this pretty red bow in her hair who I initially thought as was polite and professional. She was very respectful of the live performance, and made sure to come and check on people intermittently without getting in the way of the show. However, I ordered the salmon (which was pretty good) but I just couldn't eat it all because I had the full sized caesar salad already. I hadn't even gotten 50% of the way through the salmon and I decided to take it to go. I thought they would take it away to wrap it up like most restaurants do, but she said that she would "be right back" then somebody came by and asked me if I was done with my food, to which I replied, "No I would like it to go" He then gave me a thumbs up and then took it. I figured that meant that he was going to wrap my food to go, considering the restaurant was a slightly nicer scale restaurant. The woman returned and said "he took your food didn't he?" to which I replied, "Yes.." Come to find out, he tossed the entire salmon and all of the sides! She told me that she could offer a discount on my order of the salmon, to which I replied "Yeah, but I actually wanted to eat it.." When you go to a nicer restaurant, the point is the experience. Having nine dollars deducted from a $33 order of salmon on top of there being auto gratuity at the end of our bill doesnt make a big difference. It's already going to be expensive anyways, the point was I wanted to actually enjoy my food and unfortunately I couldn't because apparently the worker who took my food, didn't speak English at all. I understand there being language barriers, especially in the service industry. The man seemed polite, But that shouldn't reflect on my quality of service. She told me she was going to try and "figure something out" and then disappeared until it was time to give us the bill. She was moving in a rush, and she was avoiding eye contact with me although she was standing right over me whenever she would visit the table or pass by the table. I wanted to be able to enjoy my night, enjoy the music (which I did because it was amazing) And enjoy the service that I received, but unfortunately, on top of the miscommunication around my food being thrown away, and the woman who was serving me beginning to avoid me when she couldn't find a resolution to the problem, I just have to give this an overall bad rating for the restaurant itself. I was hoping to be able to speak to a manager without making a scene or get a dish remade, but the kitchen was closed. It makes sense, but she didn't come by our table very often during the show, so there wasn't much opportunity to order food while the kitchen was open. Anyhow, the night was busy and we simply just were not seen enough during our time there, I still hope to find a resolution because it was so recent last night, but considering I was meeting friends, I didnt want take the attention away from their big night! This does not reflect on the performers. Which is really the reason I came, but I'm very disappointed in my service. I would give a lower rating, but the music was so incredible that it saved this review.

My 3rd visit! I really love this place, seeing Albert Lee tonight, it served Patrick D. was the best of my 3 visits! I fly from ft Lauderdale just to come to these concerts I thank this small venue that give ne a reason to travel and visit this amazing city! I'm not a pretentious ass I know everything isn't perfect but rhe feeling I get here is very near perfect!

This place was crazy. We stood in line and had preferred seating but there were two lines out front. Make sure you get in the right line when you get here. We met the musician we came to see before the show. My mom flew down here specifically for this show. We were completely turned off to this event because of our negative interaction with the musician. He was very rude. My sister and I shared the brownie. It was very stale and hard. My coffee was cold. It was also very difficult to flag our server down during the show. There is also a $15 per person minimum. I wouldn't recommend preferred seating, the food (just get drinks!), or this place.

I'm reading these reviews, overpriced drinks?? That's your main complaint?? I am here for the talent! You're in NYC, the greatest city in the world. I want to see a jazz show that you are so close that you can make eye contact with the performer. That in itself is worth the price of admission. My wife and I are walking towards the club. I see this loooooong line. I walk up to the front and ask, are you all waiting for the jazz club? No, the Stardust diner. Whew.. Not to fear, I this is something I have to stress, buy the preferred seating upcharge. There are people trying to clamor their way in from the cold. I get to the front. Ticket sir? Oh preferred? Right this way. That folks, is just a rock star move. I'm dropping knowledge on you yelper! Boom goes the dynamite. My wife and I had choice seats up front. I see there are people ordering food. Really? If you feel you have to eat food at a premium price, I'm not judging you. I just think, for the same cash you could have an incredible meal a few blocks away and come here for the two drink minimum. Sure the club is cozy, there are a few tables that have reserve signs on them. The people that are not preferred are sitting in the back. If you're ok with sitting in the back, then bully for you. We had seats at the front of the stage, saw an amazing jazz show and caught the subway to Penn Station. The acoustics are amazing, The Iridium is a great venue to host an intimate show on the small stage.

First time here. Came to see Roy Ayers. Sound was great. Very enjoyable experience. The venue looks like a cross between a jazz lounge and Planet Hollywood Very cozy, intimate feel. The place is dimly lit so bring your specs to read the menu. If you have issue with stairs there may be an issue as this is located in the lower level accessible by stairs, in a dimly lit stairwell. Great for an intimate setting. Food was good. Service was just ok, but it could be due to the fact the place was packed. Will come again!

Oh look! It's an Angry Orchard cider at the Iridium; July 30, 2016.

I've never been to the venue before....so I'm assuming based on pictures that there are tables to sit at? Is there standing room, or does everyone have a seat? I only ask because we want to see Richie Kotzen in June, but I'll be 8 months pregnant.

They have long table seating up front where you sit with other people. They also have tall standing tables in the back. Don't remember if the tall tables have bar stools. There were no assigned seats when we went. The Early you get in the better…

Where is the parking for the iridium?

Good afternoon, You may park on 51st Street between Broadway and 7th ave at a discounted price.…

Has anyone paid for the "preferred" seating and if so did you feel that it was worth the extra money?

The only advantage to preferred seating is that you're allowed in earlier. The place is so small every seat is a good one.

Both failed epically. The bone marrow was inedible as it was like cold custard. Escargot had zero flavor and a real lack of garlic and good butter. Tasted more like vegetable oil than good butter. We shared the lobster pasta entree. Tasted more like Mexican goulash. No Italian flavors to be found in the sauce. Never once did the nameless waiter stop and inquire about our meal. The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

The flavor was flawless, and while the portion was small (which was acceptable), the pool of broth accompanying it was completely unnecessary; it was inedibly salty, so what was the point of serving it? These are dishes originally meant for low-income Americans to fill up on cheaply; there's no limit to how good they can be, but also no floor to how bad they can get. It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. We were already inside MOMA and entered via the inside entrance with a guard and a huge door. Since we arrived at 5pm when they opened we were led to a seated waiting area and provided cold water (a 100F day) and a smaller drink menu. Within a few minutes the main dining room was ready for us and we were led to a three quarter moon seat with a table facing the MOMA outdoor sculpture garden. This room was glorious with its high ceiling and cobalt blue paint and an impressive massive floral arrangements. There were plenty of museum visitors still outside wandering about in the sculpture garden. Each and every staff were wonderful in their friendly welcoming stance and conversations. Having perused their voluminous wine selection online ahead of time (an excellent thing to do ahead of time to avoid last minute decisions) we placed our wine order with the sommelier. Then there was the choice between the two menus, one obviously more expansive in offerings and the price. Since NYC was experiencing our extreme heatwave we opted for the smaller menu, which was totally sufficient and very filling. Most of the time, restaurant tasting menus have words and phrases that "sound" so inviting but wind up being a huge disappointment. However, words here really don't do justice as a description. The menu seemed simple and basic enough: "radish, shiso* crispy ham and cheese; hiramasa and garden peas; sea bass, crab and squash blossom; halibut, tomatoes, sweet corn broth or chicken and red wine braised celeriac; berries and cacao -- Impressions Menu -- 'a glimpse, capturing a moment' $175 (discovery 115 * reserve 295)". Prior to ordering we were informed that both of us had to order the same menu but that we had the option to sub and add on from the expansive menu--which we did with the eggs on eggs on eggs dish, as well as my choice of the lamb. Their signature dish--Eggs on eggs on eggs: a must have to add on this special course with caviar ($50/order). The dish is small, precious and very rich and was positively impressionable. That's the dish I go away with thinking about the restaurant. It came with a stick of toasted brioche to sop up the runny yolk and the caviar (which was neither fishy or salty). I would note the dish was served with caviar spoon. Staff knew enough that after we started eating this they brought an extra set of two more buttered toast sticks. Paired with our all Pinot champagne it was a magical combo. This is the kind of patron mind reading that differentiated a Michelin star restaurant. As the executive chef described the dish: "At the bottom of the bowl is a fried egg sauce, and is broken with a dill oil; second egg is a poached egg yolk (poached in a saline solution just so they are warmed through...we want the yolk to spill through the sauce...). We finish this dish with pickled shallots and more fresh dill for acidity and freshness, and drop a huge spoonful of caviar on top." The amuse was a great way to start especially with the pairing of our champagne. In lieu of the halibut in the Impressions menu I added the lamb from the other menu. Although it was only one piece in the rack of lamb it was terrific with the crunchy maitake mushroom and tasty sauce. The sommelier was excellent and professional without being pretentious -- as well as every single staff that greeted us and served us along the way. THIS Is what one should expect from a two star Michelin restaurant. I tasted the halibut from my wife and it seemed to be slightly under seasoned, though it had a decent sear. Service was perfection. They did not disappoint and I will be back!

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I was lead to this great spot for a late dinner and cocktails on a Friday night. The hostess was really friendly and quicky sat us at a two seater near the bar, which we appreciated. The ambiance was light and friendly and they even had a DJ playing all the good jams! I think I danced a bit, (definitely liquid courage). The DJ read the room and created a fun ambiance. The waitress came over a few minutes later and quickly took our drink and meal order. We ordered the Tuna Crispy Rice ( Yum), Guinness Wager Sliders (Nom Nom), Korean Chicken Boas (My Favorite!) and Carnitas Tacos.....I'm embarrassed to admit that we cleaned our plates like a couple of savages. Bartley Dunnes is a great choice to come solo, meet up with friends or come as a group of no more than 4, unless you make a reservation. They have a second floor that I unfortunately didn't get a chance to check out, so I can't write about that. However, I did see people coming and going straight up. I'll be back!

They have a great happy hour running from open until 8 PM, including $6 beers and $8 cocktails, which is a great deal for the area. ordered the Bartleys Spritz (Aperol Spritz) and a Tequila Mule. We sat at the bar, which runs about half the length of the space, and there were also plenty of tables throughout. The back section of the bar feels a bit separated from the main entrance area. There are some TVs throughout, and everything inside seemed fairly new and well maintained. It was not very crowded on a Tuesday early evening, so service was quick and the staff was very friendly. We did not order food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot for happy hour drinks in the MoMA/Midtown West area.
