The house special fried rice was a huge portion and delicious. Not overcooked or dried out at all. Very flavorful with chicken, pork, shrimp. The portion was enough for two people. The interior of the restaurant was spotless. I got there a few minutes early to pick up my orderand the tables and floor were immaculate. I have no hesitation recommending Lucky star Chinese restaurant in Covington.

However, as I returned, portions got smaller, flavor got weaker and the chef ignored my requests for more heat and more seasoning. The last couple visits the food was flat out terrible and I now refuse to return. Unless they make significant changes, I don't see them remaining open. It's a slap in the face to the name, if you are not going to honor the original restaurant, CHANGE YOUR NAME.

Horrible experience. They have a sign that displays "extra load 1.50cents please don't waste" I gave myself a little extra than usually, with the expectance of an extra fee(as posted on the wall). However once we came to check out the man told us he wouldn't be charging us the extra fee, but the all you can eat choice(which was more expensive) I was slightly upset about that but can live it with. However the entire time he was checking me out he kept saying he doesn't like "these kind of people here" and it's not "respectful". I usually come here a lot but this will definitely be the last time and I'll be going elsewhere. I wouldn't have mind being charged but repeating yourself countless times and embarrassing me was uncalled for. read more

first off, the food is nothing special and the service is very unprofessional. for a restaurant that specializes in fresh served chinese food it doesn't really look good when you have a bunch of white teenagers working there. the first time i went there one of the cooks had a bunch of his friends hanging out waiting for him or something but were being loud and rude. the second time i went there one of the cooks had his pants sagging so when he turned around all i saw was his underwear while he was cooking. pretty gross. maybe the owner of the place shouldn't be so stingy and hire some actual cooks, not just a bunch of teenagers. read more

My wife and I have been here many times. The food is always fresh and the staff is friendly. Since it is mongolian, you are deciding what veggies and noodles and sauces you are putting in your food, so it's good even for picky eaters. not an inexpensive restaurant... but it gets to be a good deal when you get all you can eat. I never noticed that there wasn't enough meat, as other reviewers mentioned, but if you want more meat, ask for an extra portion of meat ($4 more). read more

Our family have eaten several times at this place and have each time is more horrible . There is a long buffet table with ingredients that you put in your bowl. You pick the veggies, you pick the meat, you pick the sauce, and they grill it all up for you. Add some extra sauces to add at the end and a drink and you have a meal that is pretty much nothing special. read more
