My wife and I ate here after looking at the menu which seemed really good. We started with the arancini which was quite underwhelming. The breading was WAY too thick which didn't leave much room for any filling. Then we got to watch no less than 5 tables get served before us despite ordering well before them. For the main course we ordered the Linguine Ai Gamberi. The menu lists chilies...not spicy at all. It also lists cherry tomatoes...we got one half of one. Lacking flavor for sure. We only stayed at Clayton Hotel for one night to be near the airport for our flight out of Dublin early the next morning. After a week of eating boring stew, potatoes and carrots, it was nice to have Italian food for our last night in Dublin. We had a late dinner around 8:30pm, and there were only 2 other tables occupied. I think most of the customers prefer the bar restaurant over this one. Hubby and I shared a Caprese salad and a mushroom soup. We also shared a Diavola pizza which has tomato and pepperoni. The food came out quickly and it was delicious. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us a couple times. We prefer this restaurant over the bar for a nice quiet meal. read more

We had a last supper here with our Irish family before our flight the next morning. The menu is rather basic, like a step up from pub grub, but all the food is prepared very well. They had a disgusting salad dressing that ruined the lovely salad, but a delicious white wine spritzer. The prices are great, and the portions are generous. No bells and whistles, like bread for the tables or soft music playing in the background. But a solid choice for dinner and an attentive staff. Easily 4.5 stars. read more

The restaurant was in the hotel we were staying at so convenient. We went around 5 and there were no customers but we were told they were booked . They said we could have a table if we could be out in 1 1/2 hours so we agreed. I had the polka saltimbocca that was chicken with prosciutto. It came with mashed potato's and was pretty good. They offer a variety of pizzas which one of us had. Service was good. You are supposed to be able to make reservations online before you check in but we had no luck with that. I recommend you try though and maybe it will work for you. I was glad it was good and not just convenient. read more

This hotel is very large and very fancy, and the Italian kitchen is just the same. The service was wonderful, our large group was accommodated with no problems, and we had delicious food. Everyone enjoyed their pasta dish, and if you're staying in the Clayton Hotel I would recommend checking the restaurant out! read more

The food came fast and most of it was perfectly acceptable, but the chicken fettuccine had small rubber chicken cubes and undercooked pasta. I quietly let the server know, I had her take my plate and said I didn't need a replacement. When I went to pay the manager told me the amount and I asked for an itemized bill. He said I already took off the Alfredo. No apology. I didn't need some effusive apology, but I don't think it's too much to at least acknowledge that one of your diners wasn't happy. It is not hard to provide competent customer service and this place seems to be banking on the captive audience just settling for subpar food. I'm not sure why I'm surprised though, Ireland is a beautiful country, but the food is not beautiful read more

This was our last meal in Ireland before flying home the next day. My daughter and I weren't super hungry, so decided to split a couple of dishes. The first was a caprese salad. It was fine (hard to go wrong with just tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil). The presentation was very nice. We were unsure whether or not to try one of the pizzas that caught our eye because it was unusual, but the server said it was one of his favorite dishes, so we gave it a try. And glad we are! It was a breakfast pizza with bacon (more like ham), sausage, spinach, cheese, and tomatoes. In the center is an egg that cooks while the pizza is in the oven. It was delicious! Our server was helpful and humorous. The restaurant setting is very nice, but it's one big open room; none of the more private booth seating. read more

This is a rather convenient place since it is in the hotel. The wait staff is very nice and friendly and the presentation of the food is good. That's where the good ends really. We tried the garlic bread, which was so heavily covered in garlic is was inedible. My wife got the gnocchi which I tried some of hers. It was very bland and the texture was off for gnocchi. I had the carbonara which also was extremely bland. The sauce was extremely thin and the pancetta amazingly didn't really provide any salt or flavor to the dish. I did not have anything I liked. Prices are reasonable especially for a hotel restaurant. Given there isn't much around the hotel, this restaurant will do in a pinch for a dinner that's not the supermac's across the street, but I would recommend eating dinner somewhere else before you check in if you can. read more

Cold pizza... I'm giving this 3 stars because I love the Clayton at the airport and I love this new restaurant addition. Otherwise, I would give only one star after tonight's performance. Six tables were open and still mgmt said we had to wait 35-50 minutes due to reservations, which I never saw show up for all of the available tables. Frustrated and hungry, we ordered a pizza to go and then sat in the lobby to eat it... not as much fun as the ambience in the restaurant and to boot, the pie was COLD, so they made me wait for a hot pizza that went cold and took my money anyway. Bruh? This hotel needs help with food & beverage, the staff is clueless on service and cannot keep up with the constant demand of guest travelers. Tables in lobby remain dirty for a very long time and the wait staff is intermittent. They try hard, but I see no one around to guide and direct. The wait staff in the Italian Kitchen and the entire hotel do not have a flow to them, rather they're all flustered and sweating. I really want the Clayton's F&B to get it together, for my sake and the sake of others... it's such a great property in regards to location and offerings. We just need a leader. read more

Simply put, this place didn't live up to the hype the hotel built up for it. The service was okay, but slow. They didn't remove dishes on our table that were in our way throughout the entire meal. The soup was tasty but salty, and the portion was tiny. The salad portions were also tiny. Way overpriced for what we got. I've had authentic Italian food and this was not it. read more

I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo- the noodles were over cooked and the dish could have used more flavor. My boyfriend ordered their chicken Parmesan and said it was good but the noodles were bland. He also ordered the minestrone soup and said it was nothing special - no flavor and no meat. Our waiter, "Peter K." Was fantastic in the beginning. However, towards the end of our meal he seemed to have forgotten all about us. It took him FOREVER to come around and ask if we would like anything else. We ended up asking a food runner boy for dessert to-go (one tiramisu.) Peter FINALLY came back and started setting up for dessert - we let him know that it should have been to-go. He went back and 25 min later we finally snagged him to ask for our bill. He returned and charged us for 2 tiramisu's (not what we ordered.) By this time, we just wanted to get back to our rooms so we didn't tell him he input the order incorrectly. 5 min later, a food runner comes over with tiramisu on plates... once again, not what we asked (we wanted them to-go.) Overall, this was an "eh" experience. The waiters need to communicate better with their customers AND the kitchen. If the associates can't handle a big section, the manager needs to step in and either reorganize the staff's sections or hire more people. read more
