Our local donut shop was closed and decided to give this one a go. The staff was very friendly. And kudos to them for being open 22 hours out of the day. That deserves a star within its self. However, the donuts we got on a Sunday morning were NOT made fresh that morning. The feel like they were made yesterday or the day before. All 6 were stale and hard. Even the churro. We had those late night cravings and went to The Jelly Donut to grab some donuts. At 8 pm they had a lot of donuts available. My husband got the glaze twist and I got the lemon filled. The donuts were underwhelming. They were just average and the batter had a strange taste to them. They weren't sweet or fluffy- just more like a bread type base. I have pretty high standards for donuts being near Stans in Santa Clara, and these didn't cut it. I would skip it if I were in the area next time. read more

As much as I shouldn't, I love coming here for my donuts. They use to be open 24 hours, but now I seen a sign saying they're closed from 1:30am- 3:30am. Not so bad, I still consider 24 hours haha! Really like the French style, they are airy and light. The chocolate and maple glaze are very good as well as the cinnamon sugar coating. The chocolate cake with coconut is also really good. Price is right and the people are kind. Nothing fancy but good old school donuts! read more

I'm not a big donut person, but all of my nieces and nephews enjoyed every single bite as they indulged in their dessert for the evening. They all kept saying "Ming (Auntie) - it's SO good." I went due to the fact that it was 9p and it was still open. A lady came out of the back with a fresh tray of doughnuts . I asked if they were still making ham and cheese croissants? Unfortunately not. I told her I was a Yelper and did she know about it? She said in a grumpy voice, no. I leaned into the counter so I could show the Yelp app on my phone, she was totally uninterested. I explained that Yelp is all about supporting small businesses. Her reply was that she didn't care and it's not her business, she just worked there. By now she was speaking in a rougher tone than before. She stopped talking to me only to hide in the back, I could hear her talking in another language to a man, who never made himself notable, but continued to engage with him while ignoring me. The brown sugar milk tea was a bit better-priced than an iTea or Teazentea at $4.50. The boba was a 50 cent addition. Super fun. We asked the cashier about the cereal donuts, and she offered us either Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Fruit Loops. We picked the Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and the donut was great. Based on our one visit so far, this doughnut shop in a shopping centre at the corner of Dutton and Sebastopol Road, is decent but just barely. The glazed doughnut holes were not good, bland with no fried dough flavour and just a vague soft, almost-stale texture. They had almost no glaze on them at all. 1.5-2 stars. The Custard-filled doughnuts were also mediocre at best, with an odd-tasting custard that had an almost slimy,greasy texture. 2 stars. Glazed old-fashioned was no better, with little flavour which was off-tasting as well, and a poor texture. 2 stars. The maple raised doughnut was decent, the frosting was fine and there was a good amount, and the frosting had a nice texture with a harder outside and creamy inside, but it was still a little light on the maple flavour, consistent with the fact that the frosting was unusually pale for maple, as can be seen in my picture. The dough seemed better than the holes, even though I would expect them to be the same, and it had a fairly good texture. It may simply be that it seemed to be better cooked. However, it was just a fairly good doughnut dough and not great, still lacking in a nice fried-dough character. 2.5-3 stars. The raised chocolate was the best. The dough again was fairly good, like the raised maple and unlike the doughnut holes. The chocolate frosting was a lighter chocolate, what I would consider fairly basic type of chocolate frosting, but it was quite good with a nice amount, giving a nice harder surface with creamy underlayer. My daughter did not like the chocolate, preferring darker kinds, but I liked it. Perhaps it was partly because it reminded me very much of ones I'd get as a kid. 3-3.5 stars. Overall, some of the items like doughnut holes had an old, almost stale quality but we were there at about 9 in the morning so that should not have been an issue. We may go back, because this was the first time and we are still searching for any good doughnuts near us ever since the wonderful Doughnut Cafe closed, but it is not likely based on this experience. The only doughnuts which we had which we would be willing to eat again were the glazed maple and chocolate, and those just barely. read more

BEWARE ! To start off I was rolling by at 6am on Thanksgiving morning. I wanted to get a few dozen for my crew since we were open too. The sign was either burned out or just off, but only the lights on inside were on and I saw a young woman at the counter. I went in and the donut baker was inappropriate language. He was talking to a customer about how he had to beat up a guy in the morning before opening. Then telling the man in from of me to hold on to the box of donuts as it was slippery than a whor%^. I felt so bad for the girl, she was just boxing up orders. The lack or respect he showed the girl at the counter was distasteful at best. I don't know how she listens to that. It defiantly reflected in the donuts he made. When I got to work, I opened the box. They looked deformed and tasteless. Some held the grease they were fried in. We got a large selection and the guy that helped us was really nice. We got about three dozen donuts and some of them seemed very fresh and some of them were a little stale. Namely, the glazed twist I got tasted a day old. The jelly donuts we got were really good and I would recommend those! We were in town visiting my brother who was in the hospital and I don't live in the area, so I wouldn't be frequenting this place anyway. However, I don't know that I would be back because I really love a good, fresh glazed donut. Ariana Grande would have licked the one I got and put it back for sure. Excellent glazed donuts. Not sickeningly sweet as other shops are. They're great at the "lighter" donuts. The heavier ones can be overly heavy sometimes. But this means there is something for everyone. The apple fritters are dense, not my taste and they seem to be consistently overcooked.
