This is extremely hard to write because we truly loved this place. Unfortunately, a recent interaction made it very clear that we will never be returning. Yesterday, I went in with my two kids, and the young girl working the cashier, who appeared to be no older than 14 or 15, was extremely rude from the moment I placed my order. She made facial expressions as if helping me was an inconvenience and acted annoyed the entire time. When I stood up to check if our food was ready, she brought it to the counter on a plate. I politely asked if she could please package it to go. She then rolled her eyes at me and walked away into the kitchen. At that point, I was furious--not just as a customer, but as a parent. My 10-year-old witnessed the entire interaction. When she returned, I calmly but firmly told her: "If you're not happy working here, you shouldn't be. You do not roll your eyes at people who are supporting your business" I understand teenagers have attitudes, I was one once. But that is not an excuse, especially when you are the face of a family business. Basic respect and customer service should be non-negotiable. Because of this experience, I will never come back to this establishment. Allowing teenagers with this level of disrespect to work the counter completely ruined what was once a place we loved. read more

Our family has been going to Crystal's Corner for over 10 years, and it truly never disappoints. Not only do they make the best donuts, but their breakfast deals are unbeatable. Where else can you get 2 eggs, 2 bacon, a hashbrown, and toast for around $7--and it's all delicious and filling? We actually drive all the way from Rohnert Park just to eat here now, because it's that good. Last month my son asked for breakfast from Crystal's Corner, so we called in our order. When we arrived, they almost handed us a nearly identical order but quickly caught it and made sure we got the correct one--great attention to detail and service. As we walked out, we ran into my ex-husband and daughter picking up food too... great minds think alike! Best donuts. Best hashbrowns and eggs. The staff is always friendly, the place is clean, and the prices are amazing. Crystal's Corner is a true local gem and a place we'll keep coming back to for many more years. I am not an expert on donuts, but thanks to participating in yelp more, I am open to trying new stuff. We went in on a whim and we met by a very gracious owner. Even though it was slightly later in the morning, we still had a good range of choices. My husband opted for the chocolate bar and we got a glazed, old-fashioned and apple fritter to sample. My husband said his chocolate bar was light and fluffy, and he inhaled it in about three bites. This is why there is no photo of it. lol the glazed old-fashioned was basically perfect. It was well balanced with a good cake, texture and nice crunch the fry. The glaze was delicious and I'm not sure if the faint spice was in the glaze or in the dough, but it was honestly a wonderful surprise! I love when donuts have a little more complexity. My husband and I both agreed that apple fritters are a tough one to do in a perfect way, but this one was pretty close. It's hard to cook an apple fritter without it becoming a little heavy on oil. This one had a little bit of heaviness, but in the long run, it was not overwhelming nor as greasy as many apples we've had. Thankfully, it also had a nice amount of cinnamon to uplift the whole pastry. Overall, this is truly a hidden gem that for whatever reason I've never noticed. Well done! read more

I used to come here often as a kid so I know the food was good, but man lately the food is terrible, ive tried different stuff and man its been disappointing. I cannot remember the last time I had a donut but I know Crystal's Corner was where I got my last one. They are located in the same parking lot where we had lunch and so I couldn't resist. The owner at the counter said he starts working at 5:00 am! We were surprised to see the large assortment of donuts that were still in his case on this Monday. Normally, he is practically sold out shortly after the noon hour. Unfortunately, my two favorites were sold out (apple fritters and chocolate old fashioned). We ordered donut holes and a blueberry cake donut. The donut holes were one of the best I've had, light and airy and not overly sweet. The blueberry donut smelled great and tasted even better! The exterior texture was slightly crispy and the inside was light, cakey and moist. The quality and taste of these donuts cannot be beat. It is refreshing to see that the owner is very customer oriented, smiles a lot, helps you promptly, and you can tell he truly enjoys his work. I noticed that they serve lunch items as well as donuts. They cook up burgers, tacos, sandwiches, salad, chili and even Chinese food! If you have a craving for a yummy donut, definitely give them a try! read more

To celebrate National Doughnut Day I popped into Crystal's Corner. They were buzzing a little after 9:00am on a Friday. Happy customers dining inside and a steady stream of customers grabbing their phone orders today. This is not just typical doughnut shop. They have breakfast and lunch offerings as well. Will have to come back for those. I was greeted by a nice gentleman while he was hustling to put together another guest's order. Just a raised maple for me. It was exactly what I expected, fresh, fluffy and sweet. It hit the spot! The space is bright and clean. Sweet treats are displayed at the back. There is a beverage cooler if you don't want coffee. I believe they switched owners a few years ago but they still seem to uphold the same level of service and quality. Please support these locals. read more

And finally, my 100th yelp review. My 100th review landed for the donut shop I rate 100/10! I've been coming to Crystal's Corner with my son since he was in pre-k. The owners have watched my son build confidence over the years, going from a shy and scared toddler to a 10 year old boy now confidently ordering himself each time (and even paying on his own at the register sometimes lol) There has never been a day where we weren't greeted with a smile by the owners. They are always welcoming and truly treat you like family. While I've heard amazing things on the food offered here we've only ever had the donuts for breakfast. Usually just a quick stop before school or work. Crystal's is one of our favorite places for a quick treat and always a great way to start our morning. 100/10 for location, service and sweetness. read more

They're so nice at Crystals and I love their breakfast sandwiches. They're always hot, fresh and exactly what I wanted. I saw the silliest review a while back where some man told me without telling me he's never cooked eggs for himself lol NO! There is zero "mold" on their eggs. The sulfur in eggs can change the color of the yokes during cooking. Sometimes this color is a pale blue/green. There's nothing wrong with it and it's safe to eat. We only tried 3 different donuts and we are already hooked! It is your regular donut shop. Quaint, quiet, smells amazing, and just a couple of tables. I would never expect anything more from an establishment such as this. Sure, they serve a lot of other things but you can tell what their primary business is. Breakfast pastries. And my my do they all look exceptional. My next visit will be a little earlier in the day so I can get my hands on some of the best sellers that are out by late morning. This place is crazy. Owned by a rad family that seems to be always working together to keep this crazy culinary pirate ship afloat. I used to live down the street and it was a go to when you're deathly hungover and in need of some tummy grease. Especially great when you don't know what you want, but you kinda want it all. Oh, it does break my heart a little to rate this place as mediocre, but the "Chinese" food, the dusty room and donuts are pretty bad. I ate the chow mein noodles. Mushy, slimey, a few little strips of chicken thigh meat accompanied by a few florettes of broccoli. The old fashioned maple syrup coated donut was hardly better. Tasted like old safflower oil. The room is completely made of formica, a la 1968. Everything feels like it's coated with a thin layer of grease. Check my photo of the big parrot trio fabric poster that hangs on the wall here. I made it in 1977, gave it to Goodwill in 1985 when I moved outt'a Santa Rosa. The owner probably bought it there for $1. It hasn't been dusted since then. The owner is a cheerful, truly nice guy. My co-worker got me some goodies at Crystal's Corner today! I will be returning! He got me coffee, croissant ham, cheese and egg sandwich and a maple bar with custard. I didn't expect much. But they did not disappoint! The maple bar with the custard was a winner! Fresh, crunchy and I wish I got two! The best maple custard I ever had. The croissant was delicious. The melted cheese and the egg was cooked perfectly. The coffee was so good and strong. Just how I like it! This place is worth trying. Hole in the wall for sure. I've got no beef with this business, but it does suffer from star inflation. It's a donut shop with a couple of tables. Four and a half stars should be reserved for a really exceptional dining experience. The people who work there are nice, the donuts are good, and they must really run the business off the sandwiches they serve for lunch, so I assume they taste good. But still. The milk jug they handed me to pour my coffee was not entirely clean (for a disposable jug from the store, that's slightly odd, but maybe the chef's hands were covered in chocolate syrup?). Minimum credit card charge is $5. You could talk me into 4 stars, but if this place is 4.5 stars, then how do you rate a brunch spot whose fluffy egg extravaganza makes your mouth explode with joy? read more
