Avoid this place!!!! We bought about a half dozen donuts. All of them were super sticky and sickenly sweet. The glaze slid off the raised donut and was lying in the box, beside the donut. This was not because of the weather, either. It was cloudy and overcast. I ate two donuts and became violently ill. I saw that Donut City was under new management and decided to try their donuts. I got an iced French vanilla coffee and iced caramel coffee. Both delicious! I really like how it was sweet but still really strong! I got their maple custard donut, apple fritter and glazed twist. All delicious and the new taste is better! I also love that they are on Doordash! They also fill their donuts! A lot of custard! Also! the glaze twist was still fresh and super soft even after a few hours. The other weekend was Halloween so I ventured around town checking out the local Halloween costume stores. This trek took me past this donut shop and since I was rolling solo, I knew I could make a quick stop. A simple shop enough with seating for few, a couple beverage refrigerators and a display case with mostly specialty donuts. The regular stuff on racks nearer to the kitchen. A nice little lady with bling'ed out digits welcomed me to her shop and took my order. Customers were flowing through, being all the traffic coming and going from the Halloween shopping next door. I quickly scanned the menu and then the case and was ready. Unfortunately a group of college boys jumped ahead and snagged the last of their very special donut (to me) maple syrup topped with jagged pieces of bacon! Woe is me. Specialty donuts ranged from $1.10 plus. Plus going upwards of $2.50 and more depending on toppings. There were double chocolate donuts with chocolate frosting and pastel colored marshmallows, there were glazed donut holes, bow ties and so many more. I left with a half dozen donut holes, the double chocolate I mentioned above and a glazed twist. The twist was the most fresh and I slammed it pretty quickly. The holes were doughy, a bit more dense than what I've sampled at Tan's. I paid less than three dollars for the lot of it, a fair price. Donut city is a family owned and operated business. They offer Wi-Fi and are cool about people taking the time to hang. In store they mention being the first zero trans fat donut shop. read more

This donut shop has always been my favorite untill this morning when the lady serving me my tasty donut decides to argue the difference between cream filled and custard filled. I had always been given the choice in the past but i was informed by the person who made my tasty donut that there is in fact no difference. This is my local donut shop and I love them! They're always so nice and friendly and the have a pretty good selection of donuts for what ever craving you have. Although you will need to get here before 11am to get a big variety of donuts (people we wantin' them donuts!). They also have some tasty bagel sammish that I will stop to get every so often . We don't typically go out for donuts but, we decided to venture out on a Sunday morning (a week or two ago) to our nearby donut shop. My husband, who was a former donut consumer, was pretty excited but, when we walked in not much was going on except for an Uber driver getting his morning snack before he left tread marks on the road, and a bunch of donuts in the case that looked like they've been soaked in a hot bath of peanut oil and then slathered in a coating of sugared candle wax. We bought: a chocolate sprinkled cake donut for my 3 year old, two glazed buttermilk bars, and a maple bar. My 3 year old ate only the sprinkles of his cake donut, and I had to break off the crust off the buttermilk bar before getting to a decent edible piece. My husband had the same complaints as I about his buttermilk bar. As for the maple bar, I took a bite just for shiggles. Ugh...um, how do you f' up a maple bar?? That was the doughiest maple bar that tasted more of yeast, with an aftertaste of maple. I chewed that ball of dough like I was chewing a fresh piece of Bazooka bubblegum. And had to spit it out because it was just turning into a wad of spit and yeast. Not cool. After realizing these donuts were boo-boo, my husband and I tried what was left of the chocolate sprinkle donut, and realized that it was like a spice-chocolate flavored cake mix or something. 4 out of 4 donuts were no bueno. I am a very big fan of donuts, so I actually try to stay AWAY from donut shops! ;p lol But this past weekend a group of friends and I did the Breast Cancer walk in San Francisco, and thought it would be nice to have a little treat for everyone. I decided to go with the donut holes versus actual donuts -just to be easy and they were perfect! The donut holes were super tasty and they were even frosted pink for us (per our request). The whole group really enjoyed them, even a friend who doesn't eat donuts at all, had one (ok...2) but they were that good! My husband actually placed and picked up our order and he said the service was good too. Very nice people. Overall, I would definitely recommend Donut City. Almost every Saturday morning I visit this joint for a dozen donuts to bring to work. The donuts are always warm and fresh. There are lots of selections just like any other donut shop. The staff are very friendly and always gives a smile to brighten up the morning. The best thing I can say is the donuts are always fresh and it's located only 3 minutes away from me. this place has gone downhill in the past couple years. i used to love them! but now, they're no good. they are always over-proofed, therefore they are GIANT which makes them look good, but they have giant air pockets inside. they also have an off taste- somewhat of a sour taste. don't know if it's the yeast being over done or what but it's unpleasant! read more

Maybe I got a bad batch, but the jelly filled and cream filled donuts I got today were below average. The jelly filled actually tasted kind of sour and underdone so I didn't even finish it (can you imagine not finishing a donut?!) This is a very good doughnut place and our second favourite in the area (after Doughnut Cafe in the Lakeside shopping center near Howarth Park). Most doughnuts are very good, with nice texture, glazes, etc. Raised doughnuts are very good, with nice glazes and a good, dense texture, moist but not too moist, far better than at the average decent place but not nearly as good as the best I've had . OMG, this place has the BEST donuts!!! They make them moist and fluffy every single time. Ever since I've tried donuts here I will never go anywhere else again, no one can compare. The old fashioned glazed is my favorite and they make it perfect every time.
