And don't worry, you can get their loaves at most Olivers before they run out and they do run out every day . if you stop at any Olivers for your Redbird, you will see that it's the only part of the shelf that's empty before all of the other locally made brands. I was lucky enough to have a friend bring me treats from this little spot. I completely forgot to take pictures, unfortunately. She brought me a pain au chocolate and a plain croissant. I was intrigued by the texture as they were not exactly what I would expect. While they were not terribly flaky. the pastry was still excellent. My husband absolutely adored a croissant and said that he felt like while they didn't have the same layers, they were not greasy and quite delicious. This location is smaller but still has a variety of options to choose from. Parking is sometimes difficult but isn't too bad. Great little bakery! My new favorite place for sourdough bread. The loaves are light and delicious, but they have plenty of sweet pastries and desserts to satisfy your taste buds too. They still have sandwiches for lunch, but not quite as many as before so come early. My favorite is the chicken pesto. They now offer a "pizza" option too. We ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage, cinnamon roll and croissant sandwich. All were mediocre at best. They were microwaved and extremely dry. It was unclear if the sausage patty was a burger or actual sausage. We ended up making it through 1/2 and tossing the rest. read more

We've visited Redbird Bakery on Sebastopol Ave. several times because the quality of their ingredients and baked goods is truly outstanding. However, the customer service has been consistently disappointing. Each time we've come in, the staff seems impatient while customers browse the large selection of items. Only once has anyone asked if we wanted our food warmed; every other time, when we've asked ourselves, the response has felt more like an inconvenience than a simple request. Instead of a friendly "Of course," the item is taken without acknowledgment, which makes the interaction feel unwelcoming. We've also noticed that utensils are rarely stocked, and when waiting at the pickup window to ask for some, staff often avoid eye contact and don't acknowledge customers who clearly need assistance. During our most recent visit, an iced coffee was served hot, but after already feeling like I was putting the staff out by asking for basic things, I didn't feel comfortable requesting it be corrected. Additionally, the tables were covered in crumbs from the day before--we were the first customers when the bakery opened, so they clearly hadn't been cleaned prior to opening. It's truly a shame, because the food is exceptional. With friendlier, more attentive service, the overall experience could match the quality of the products. read more

Nice cafe in downtown Santa Rosa, near Julliard Park. We got coffee here and walked around the park. I got a honey lavender latte which was made perfectly. It was not too sweet and the lavender was not over powering. We also got the regular black coffee which was good too. The service was great and the barista was nice. read more

This location would have received more than 5 stars if that was an option. Do not be like me and hear about this place and assume it's "just another bakery" it is far from your average!! There are currently 3 locations in Sonoma county: Santa Rosa, Cotati, and Sebastopol. I visited the Santa Rosa location and had the blessing of meeting one of the owners who happily answered ALL of my and my friends many questions. First off - they have samples (I love samples) and I tried the most amazing, moist delish gluten free chocolate brownie and OMG instantly sold (yes I bought one) Second - they have things besides pastries!! I had the most phenomenal breakfast sando made on their homemade from scratch English muffin and I can tell you now, I am a repeat customer. The bread was soft and moist and squishy but NOT dense!! There was NO heaviness that normally follows when I eat bread. This is in part to their process when baking. Their coffee is also amazing lol I really cannot say ENOUGH about this place you just really need to stop by and try it yourself. Or don't and leave more for me!! Side note they take well deserved break from service on Mondays so stick up on Sunday or be like me craving that breakfast sando until Tuesday!!! I love their bread, especially the Epi and baguettes, the sliced Pullman is also delicious and freezes really well. The pastries are also yummy. I usually buy at the Saturday farmer's market on farmers lane. If you're ever at the bakery in Cotati they have awesome sandwiches to go. Their danishes are SO good!! I've been to the Red Bird Bakery location in Cotati, and decided to check out their newest location in Santa Rosa. This location is in a small strip mall, and you'll need to keep an eye out for their sign. They weren't busy at 11:30am on a Saturday, but they were already sold out of some breads and pastries. There was definitely less variety than their Cotati location, but their staff mentioned that they will be adding new items soon (such as their delicious jam pockets!).
