Suosdei! (hello in Cambodian) Wow! I had heard good things about Tan's, and kept forgetting to check it out. I pass by the one on Guerneville Road at Fulton quite a bit, but having not been there before, it wasn't on my "food map". My bad... I finally got myself in there, and have to say I was blown away! It is a donut shop/restaurant, so the atmosphere is pretty casual, but don't let that dissuade you! The donuts are excellent, but the Cambodian cuisine is STELLAR! I love Thai, Lao, Vietnamese, and I especially love them if they are spicy! I hadn't had Cambodian before, but it is my new favorite! I tried the lemongrass beef, and it was so spicy, fresh, HOT, and SPICY! So fresh and delicious! It was a little bit of a wait, but so worth it to have freshly made, perfectly prepared, piping hot food! One serving more than two of us could eat at once -so very good value! I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes - including the soups - which I expect will be incredible! If you can't tell, I'm a fan. New most favorite food! SIX STARS! Great parking for street parking and back side with parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : (2 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean. 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are below average . ( must be inflation ) 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Cambodian food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in Cambodia . Not bad! Hidden gem. One of if not the best vermicelli rice bowl I've ever had. Maybe it was just because I was really hungry but it was very filling and reasonably priced for the portion size. I can't comment on the donuts, but what I can comment on is the Cambodian food. I've never had Cambodian food until trying it here but it seems quite similar to Thai/Vietnamese food. The place is relatively small but has a few tables. The employee who has helped us twice (maybe the owner?) is very nice, and when we asked for recommendations, she helped us. The first time we went, I got the combination Vermicelli. If I recall correctly, it was quite good. The next time we went, we both got chicken Pad Thai (Husband ordered his extra spicy). It tasted a little bit different than Thai style Pad Thai, but it was very good. It was a bit expensive, but it seems like everything is these days. It's worth it for a once in a while treat. The Cambodian food is definitely worth giving a try. read more

I absolutely love this place. I have been coming here since i was a teenager (m in my 30s now). The donut selection is quite large so i have no other option than to always get a dozen, hehehe. The price has stayed pretty decent compared to other places and for the freshness guaranteed here, it really is quite a fair price. The owner/employee is so sweet. The lady behind the counter is so friendly and always remembers me. One time i actually forgot my wallet and they were kind enough to still give me my dozen donuts and coffee and be along my merry way. He said "it's ok. You take the donuts. Enjoy". The following day i went back and payed for the donuts they had given me, plus gave them a nice tip to show them i will forever be grateful for their wonderful gesture. I will continue to frequent this local business and am very grateful for owners that actually care about their customers. read more

Absolutely delicious pork spring rolls. I'd give 5 stars, but it was off hours, and still only 1 parking spot available. I was the only customer, and it took about 10 minutes. I'm not complaining because she was literally making the spring rolls fresh, but I'd recommend calling your order in ahead of time. Zero online presence that I could find, but friendly service and the spring rolls rocked!! Plenty of meat, stuffed with all the yummys and the rice paper didn't tear. Served with peanut satay sauce, and she offered sirrahcha, which I said Yes. The restaurant itself had a few dirty tables, and the ambiance wasn't really that great. We frequent this place almost every weekend. It's very close to our house so the convenience factor alone made it our favorite weekend spot. I overlooked the fact that they would be randomly closed on weekend days and chalked it up to being a small, family-run business. However, I called yesterday (Friday) and ordered 3 dozen donuts and even chose the types. I get a call at 7:45 this morning (order was to be picked up at 8) and the woman said they were running late on the order and they'd be ready at 8:15. I get there at 8:20 and they don't have my donuts nor do they even have any donuts to offer me. They told me they'd be ready at 9:30 and I explained I couldn't be back til 12:30 because I was supposed to pick them up at 8. I called before going in, luckily, and they said that they didn't have my donuts and the shop was closed. Apparently they sold my donuts to someone else. Needless to say, I will never be giving them my business again. This was for my daughter's basketball team and despite me calling and ordering them ahead of time, they ruined the celebration we had planned for today. I'm so bummed that they sold this place. The new donuts are no where near the quality, taste or SIZE they were before, and the price has increased significantly. I used to LOVE their apple fritters. They were Sonoma county's best kept secret...not anymore. The cake and glazed donuts are ridiculously small, they should be called mini donuts- but the price is max! The old jelly donuts were filled with a delicious jam, now it's just the generic nasty jelly. Some people play small in life... that's not me. That's also not Tan's apple fritters because they are anything BUT small! In fact, they are the size of my head! The beauty of these babies is that they are perfectly cooked on the inside (not gooey or doughy) and deeply golden crisp on the outside. There are actually two layers of crunchiness that you get- first from the thick layer of glaze yielding under your bite, second from the actual crunch of the fried dough. The apples are also visible in the dough so its like you're getting a serving of fruit as well for those of you who are worried that you're cheating on your diet. This is a regular spot for me. Placed an order through Door Dash. Asked for them to add custard to the bars. I missed a call from them saying If they add custard it was a dollar more. Well I received the order ...no custard and stale donuts!! If I was a business owner I would have just added the custard!! I would want my customers to be happy with their order. Not send something they didn't ask for. I also wouldn't deliver stale donuts EVER if I owned a donut shop! I called to let them know and they did nothing to make it right. So I been ordering Tan's since they were added on Doordash and now I'm addicted. I tried everything on their menu! So let's start by saying the food will be addicting because I been eating it almost everyday. It's that good. So my favorite dishes are the Loc Lak and the lemongrass soup. Both Cambodian dishes and so delicious! Authentic and I thank god that they are in DoorDash! I tried their beef sticks, banh mi, and papaya salad! Lord! I came for the Viet/Cambodian food. First time I had the vermicelli bun with chicken. The portion was enormous. Enough for two. But that's where the "wow" ends. The chicken was old and just too much, like they were trying to pawn it all off on me. I couldn't finish. The second time I had their beef pho. This was better. Another 2 years later and still a fan. They renovated their dining area and spruced up the place quite nicely. The same friendly service and excellent food. Their menu has expanded some and now includes some more traditional Cambodian street food. I'll be getting some of that soon, but today i needed my curry fix. I've only ordered from this place once, and it wasn't for donuts, it was for sandwiches. They were packed well. There was a large amount of bread, but it didn't bother me that much because it was nice and soft. Also had two orders of spring rolls, which was not needed because one was plenty for a party of two. I do like they gave complimentary pastries with the order, even though I was full already, it would be good to have some in the future. They were friendly and respectful. I saw Carey Sweet's rave PD review and took a friend to try Tan's for lunch today. Loved the 'staff' who I believe at the owners. They were so nice and helpful. We ordered a vermicelli bowl and a green curry dish (spicy!). Both were delicious, FILLED with lovely veggies, chicken, tofu, and portion size was very generous....each enough for 2 meals. We got donuts for dessert and some to go. All just great. This place is amazing. Run by a very nice family, it is always consistent and always the same folks working here. I honestly don't know how they do it. Their menu is so varied and usually that's not the best sign, but everything I've had from them has been top notch! Their curries are definitely vying for top in Sonoma County, the bun is super good, they have crazy tasty fried rice, and there's so much more on there to explore. My son and I are noodle folk and though he strays to the dark side from time to time, we both agree that Tan's chicken Padthai is amazing. This place has been here for decades. Amazing spring rolls: pork, chicken, shrimp. When you walk-in, the donut counter is straight ahead with a ton of great treats. Me and my family went there and we loved their pho and donuts. The woman and guy was very nice to us. And the shop was giving us good vibes.

It's different inside, not sure if there are new owners. I've been stopping by this place for years and it has always been great. They're very friendly and often throw in extras for free. The donuts always get good feedback from my co-workers. read more
