When a Jamaican man comes in to order food from a Jamaican restaurant and tells you it's just like the islands, you better believe him. Lots of bang for your buck. They serve their lunch special all day: $5 for jerk chicken, curry chicken or brown stew chicken with rice & peas (beans) and cabbage & carrots. They were out of their brown stew chicken by dinner time so I'd recommend you pounce on it for lunch. All of the food was solid. I especially enjoyed the curry chicken, it had a beautiful, well-developed flavor that paired perfectly with the rice & beans and cabbage. Their Jamaican patties were INCREDIBLE and just the right amount of spicy. I finished off my meal with a Ting, which is a crisp grapefruit soda that is popular in the Caribbean. On top of it all, the staff is very friendly! I'll definitely continue to come here during the summer for takeout :)

It's everything I expected in a Jamaican restaurant for Oviedo. The lady at the front is polite and the food tastes good for what we have had so far.

Such a good place for lunch/dinner. Portions are fairly large, meat is fall off the bone, everything is delicious!! Service was great, and it was clean and homie inside. We love this place and will 100% be back!!

I love the jerk pork in particular. The goat curry is good also. Note that it's currently takeout only.

No complaints there at all. Beef Patty: 2/5 - The seasoning was actually pretty good, so the flavor was there. Unfortunately, the patty itself was very dry and had much less beef filling than I expected. I kept hoping for a better bite, but it never really happened. Coco Bread: 1/5 - It was served warm, which was nice, but it was also quite dry. I was expecting the soft, buttery, slightly sweet coco bread that's perfect for pairing with a patty. This one missed the mark for me. Overall, the experience wasn't terrible thanks to the excellent customer service, but the food just didn't live up to what I expect from a Jamaican restaurant. There are enough great Jamaican spots around Orlando, that I probably wouldn't make a return trip here. I was rushing on my break or I would've taken a photo.

I was getting together with some friends and we ordered from Negril. Luckily, a couple of my friends are Jamaican and they helped steer me to some new faves! Food I'd highly recommend: - Brown stew chicken meal with rice and peas, fried plantain, and stewed cabbage. This dish is rich and has the potential for leftovers if you're not starving. For the uninitiated, Jamaican rice and peas consist of red kidney beans and rice that's cooked in broth, coconut milk, and tons of aromatic spices. This isn't your white rice and green peas type of situation. I could have eaten this rice on its own, but add in the brown stew sauce and WOW. Also, I love the cabbage side because it adds a vinegary note that offsets the rich stew. Note: The chicken is cut up and includes bones. - Coco bread: This is a Jamaican style bun baked with coconut milk. It's especially good when paired with a patty in the middle (yes, the coco bread around the patty! Carb heaven!). - Festival: Jamaican festival is a sweet fried dough made with cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and milk aka a dumpling. Yes this is as good as it sounds- especially for soaking up brown stew gravy! I was BLOWN away to see an entire veggie section of the menu (for online ordering) featuring soya veggie chunks (a soy based option with the consistency of chicken). That's a HUGE deal for those of us with vegetarians in the family. Overall, delicious Jamaican food that I'll definitely order again!

I really, really wanted to support this Jamaican restaurant and give them a fair chance, especially…read moresince it was my first visit after living in the area for over a year. According to my receipt, I placed my order at 12:43 PM. I ordered 3 curry chicken Jamaican patties, 2 cocoa bread, 1 fresh carrot juice, 1 pound cake, and a medium jerk chicken meal with white rice, sweet plantains, cabbage, and brown stew gravy on the rice. My total came to a little over $40, which I felt was reasonable, and I even left a tip. At first, everything seemed fine. However, as time passed, I noticed customer after customer receiving their food and leaving. Many of them had ordered dishes such as oxtail and curry goat, with rice and peas, while I was still waiting on a jerk chicken meal with white rice. After approximately 6 customers came and went, I went to the counter to ask about my order. I was told it was coming another 5 customers came and went. After waiting even longer, I went back up a second time. The employee looked at me and said, "Oh yes, you did come here. I looked at your face and said it was coming." She went to the back, and another 20 more minutes passed. Eventually, she returned with a container and handed it to me. I immediately realized it wasn't my order because I had ordered a medium meal, and what she handed me was clearly a small. I had to pull out my receipt to show her. She checked it, confirmed I had indeed ordered a medium, and went back to correct it. Another 10 minutes passed before she finally returned with the correct size meal. When she handed it to me, there was no bag, no utensils, and no apology for the mix up or the excessive wait. I finally left the restaurant at 2:12 PM. That means I waited approximately 1 hour and 29 minutes for what I considered a relatively straightforward order. What made the experience even more disappointing was the customer service throughout the restaurant. One employee appeared visibly annoyed when customers approached. At one point, customers came in simply asking to purchase water and were told, "No, I'm not taking orders," instead of being directed to someone who could assist them. As a result, those customers simply left. As for the food itself, I did eat it, but it was not what I expected. The jerk chicken was disappointing because it wasn't grilled, smoked, or even baked the way jerk chicken is traditionally prepared. Instead, it tasted more like a spicy brown stew chicken. The flavor wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't the jerk chicken I was expecting when I placed my order. I was also surprised to find that my meal came with only one sweet plantain. My original plan was actually just to stop by for patties because they were less expensive than another Jamaican restaurant I frequently visit. I decided to give this place a chance and order a full meal because I believe in supporting Caribbean-owned businesses and trying new places. Unfortunately, this experience reminded me why I usually stick with the restaurants I already know and trust. The issue wasn't the price I thought the food was reasonably priced. The problem was the excessive wait time, lack of organization, poor communication, and disappointing customer service. For a first time customer, this was not a good experience, and based on this visit, I don't see myself returning.

I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains. I also added a beef patty. Service was quick and friendly, and my food was ready without a long wait. Let me just say, this is what authentic jerk is supposed to taste like. The rice and peas were well seasoned and balanced. The cabbage was cooked perfectly, tender but not mushy. The portion sizes were generous, easily enough for more than one meal. The jerk chicken was the standout. It was seasoned to perfection, bold, spicy, and full of that signature smoky depth that defines true Jamaican jerk. The heat level was right, the flavor layered, and every bite delivered exactly what I was hoping for. The beef patty was decent, though not as memorable as the jerk. Still solid, just not the star of the meal. After trying several places in search of authentic flavor, I can confidently say I have found my new go to spot. I will definitely be back.
