My favorites so far were the fried chicken (crispy and seasoned to perfection), mac and cheese (baked and cheesy), turkey wings (moist and full of flavor), collards, and yams (perfect level of sweetness). She also has a variety of entrees, veggies, sides, drinks, and desserts to choose from. The lemon crunch cake and red velvet cake were TOO good! The service was very welcoming and everything was served quickly! Even though it's a takeout spot, the atmosphere still felt warm and inviting. We visited Comfort and Care looking for some delicious soul food. I can say the service was excellent. They were very nice and patient as we decided what to eat. I want to give you an honest review. Upon looking at the food aligned on the counter, I was not impressed. The food just looked overcooked. I believe presentation is everything. But we decided to give them a chance. I chose the baked chicken with yams, and I can't remember the other side. My husband had baked turkey wings. I can say that the chicken was very tasty. However, the rest left a lot to be desired. I guess with being a country girl and remembering how my mother fixed food, made me more of a critic. I can say the price was reasonable, and the portions were plentiful. The cornbread was also very good and complemented the meal nicely. The turkey wings gravy was decent, but the rest of the dishes and sides could have used more seasoning and flavor. I originally came hoping to try the meatloaf, but it had already sold out, which was disappointing. The Atmosphere: The restaurant has a welcoming vibe, and it's exciting to see a new spot in the area. The Experience: The service was good. I love that we have a soul food option finally. My first visit came for an early lunch before the line got long. Plenty of options to choose from and food is presented well. I had the baked turkey wings, and they were very tender and flavored the greens were OK as well as the macaroni and cheese. Love the okra and the peach cobbler. Salmon was very good. Portions are large For someone that doesn't cook soul food often this will be a great option to have that down home feel without getting in the kitchen. We walked in close to the end of business for them today and they greeted us with smiles and welcoming vibes. They were so happy to have us. We knew they were about to close and didn't want to be a hassle but they still brought out fresh food for us steaming hot. We were very thankful. The owner told us more about the business and how they really built a name for themselves through catering. We are so happy they are in the area because it's been hard to find a soul food place that was worth the money we would spend. This place hands down is a 10/10 with the food and the service. I heard about this restaurant via social media and decided to give it a try. It is set up cafeteria style and you select what you would like. When I arrived (12:30pm), the line was out the door and down the sidewalk. The wait outside was about 40 minutes and once inside, I waited about 30 minutes. Once I was able to give my order I found out they had sold out of meatloaf, turkey wings, and yams and would have to wait another 30 minutes. We ended up with the baked chicken and beef stew and both were delicious ...10 out of 10. We had not had cornbread like that since before my grandmother passed. They have only been open a week or so, I feel once they learn their customer flow, the wait won't be as long. read more

The service was very friendly and welcoming. It is a take out only cafeteria-style restaurant, so no seating area, we just ate in the car which is fine with us. The honey butter corn bread was delicious but honestly the rest of the meal was underwhelming which was very disappointing because everything looks so tasty! I am from the south and I guess I am just used to more seasoning on my foods because I thought the chicken, greens, and macaroni were all pretty bland. The consistency of everything was perfect though, the mac was creamy and the chicken was moist. They just really really need to add seasonings. Unfortunately I wouldn't return because of this.
