I stopped in for a quick snack and ordered a mild beef patty with coco bread. Service: 5/5 - The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and my order came out quickly. No complaints there at all. Beef Patty: 2/5 - The seasoning was actually pretty good, so the flavor was there. Unfortunately, the patty itself was very dry and had much less beef filling than I expected. I kept hoping for a better bite, but it never really happened. Coco Bread: 1/5 - It was served warm, which was nice, but it was also quite dry. I was expecting the soft, buttery, slightly sweet coco bread that's perfect for pairing with a patty. This one missed the mark for me. Overall, the experience wasn't terrible thanks to the excellent customer service, but the food just didn't live up to what I expect from a Jamaican restaurant. Came back to Mark's on another visit to the area as it's become a fixture every time I see family here. This time, two of us ordered the shrimp rasta pasta and of course the oxtail. Service was slow on the Sunday afternoon that we went - I wasn't in a rush but I heard a table next to us getting antsy. Nevertheless, the food was still excellent in portion size and taste. I already sung the praises of the oxtail in my last review. The rasta pasta was also delicious and huge - it wasn't that creamy like I've had it elsewhere, but more of a curry sauce. Still delicious and when we packed the leftovers we made sure to get every drop of the sauce. I stopped by Mark's for dinner after sampling the food at a gathering. I got a medium jerk chicken meal and a curry chicken patty. The food was good as it wasn't overly seasoned and had a nice spicy kick that didn't take away from the flavor. The chicken was tender and juicy. The portion size was large enough for 2 meals. The patty was tasty and had a nice crunch. The service was just ok but this can be expected sometimes at Jamaica restaurants. One of my colleagues wanted to have authentic Caribbean food, so Mark's was our best bet. It was about 40 minutes away from me, but I had no problem parking when I arrived. We went inside around 6:30, and there was no crowd that we saw. We sat in a booth and were given waters quickly. I didn't want anything else to drink, so I went directly with the entree. The jerk seasoning and bbq sauce added a nice flavor, but the hot sauce is what I needed for the heat. The rice and peas were filling, and I enjoyed it with the cabbage. The portions were generous that I was able to save some for leftovers. The service was casual, but good. Our server was friendly and helpful, and checked up on us when needed. The atmosphere is very casual, with Caribbean music in the background. Dining area was tiny, but there was a small bar as well. I believe there was small outdoor seating as well. It was just us inside I believe, and most others were getting their food to go. For authentic Caribbean food, I found Mark's to be a great choice. While the chicken options had bones, it was tender enough to pull it out. Plus, the portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. All I can say is yum oxtails stewed to perfection, a carrot that was sweet and flavorful with the juices from the the brown sauce, beans and rice dumpling and plantain and cider callaloo fresh sauteed by the chef only because I asked for them. Callaloo is probably one of the best side dishes I've put in my mouth and ages and if it had akie it probably would have been just as good all I can say is if you're looking for a delicious Jamaican dinner. I've tried this place multiple times, I'm hopeful every time since it's close to my house and would love to find a consistent place to get Jamaican food from. However, they always disappoint me. After seeing this pop up on the uber app several times, I finally decided to give this place a try. Here's some advice about this place: If your order says it will take about 10-15 minutes, I want you to add on an additional hour. The customer service there by the way, was the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. I waited about an hour for my food and this included 2 curry chicken meals and 2 Jamaican patties (Which by the way, the website says "patties" as in more than one... it's not more than 1, you're paying ~$4 for 1 patty), I went to the store at the expected time and then waited an additional 20 minutes inside because the girl up front told me it was a "couple of minutes". I eventually went up and asked for a reasonable time, and she tells me "about 10-15 minutes". Ok, no problem, I don't mind waiting. I come back 20 minutes later and she plops the food right in front of me and says "here". Keep in mind, I had 2 curry chicken meals and 2 Jamaican patties. My patties weren't there and i ask where they are and her reply to me is "we're out, sorry", and she proceeds to look away and help another customer. Then, when I told her that I paid for their to be patties, instead of offering me a different item or something to that nature she says for me to just refund my items. Ive never heard of a restaurant recommending their customers to refund their order, I don't know about you, but that sounds like she doesnt even care about the restaurant at all. Finally, after driving home and getting the chance to eat my food, it was completely messy and the whole underside of my box was completely covered in the juices of the food. I was careful to make sure I placed my food down correctly, so I know I did not do that to my food. Overall, I do not recommend coming her for food, I did get my refund on uber eats (because I ordered through there), and this all happened on Saturday February 14th at around 8:30pm with a girl at the front. I've been coming to Mark's for many years; starting at his original location across University Blvd. In recent years, I've invited my colleagues and as our team grows we go to Mark's new location for OOTO team luncheons. It's our Little Jamaica retreat. Oxtail, curry goat, jerk chicken, and jerk pork are my staples. If you like jerk cuisine, Mark's is excellent. Today, we started talking to Mark about catering luncheons to our office. The only drawback to that idea is not getting to see Kaz who always provides top-notch service with pizzazz! I've never been to Jamaica, but there's no mistaking the authenticity of Mark's cuisine. We talk about going to other places but keep going back. Our team agrees. I always order the ox tail rice and peas with a beef patty. Everything is always on point. Food is fresh and tasty. I have been coming here for a while and the orders are always correct and service very pleasant. You can eat in the restaurant but I have always gotten my food to go. The inside is clean with music playing that creates a nice vibe. This is definitely my go to Caribbean spot out here. Another thing I like is that they are generous with their portions. DO NOT HIRE THIS CATERER - UNPROFESSIONAL, UNRELIABLE, AND DISRESPECTFUL I am writing this review to warn others about the absolute nightmare we experienced with this catering company at our wedding. If you are considering hiring them for an important event, DON'T unless you want to deal with lateness, cold food, blatant unprofessionalism, and a complete lack of accountability. A Complete Disaster from the Start From the beginning, we were assured by the owner himself, Mark, that they could handle catering for our wedding of nearly 200 guests. We went over every detail multiple times, including our timeline, our venue contact information, and our expectations for service. Every other vendor showed up on time and did their job professionally except for this caterer. They were scheduled to arrive at 11 AM to set up for cocktail hour and dinner. Instead, they did not show up until 2 PM ( three hours late ) right as our ceremony was starting! Our cocktail hour was scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM, a fact that was repeatedly communicated to Mark. Despite being given everything they needed in advance, including clear directions, a timeline, and a venue contact number, they were unreachable for hours. When my day-of coordinator finally got a hold of them, they lied and said they were "15 minutes away" --multiple times-- yet continued to be MIA for another 45 minutes. After finally arriving three hours late, they then had the audacity to take a lunch break before setting up. Cold Food & Unacceptable Service By the time they got their act together, it was halfway through cocktail hour, and food was arriving cold, a completely unacceptable outcome for an event of this caliber. And while I will acknowledge that the food tasted good (which is the only reason we chose them in the first place), what good is great food when it's served cold and three hours late? Unprofessional Conduct On the Job As if the lateness and lack of accountability weren't bad enough, the catering staff actually tried to order drinks from our bartender while on the job! If not for our professional bartender, who rightfully turned them away, we would have had intoxicated staff at our wedding. Completely unprofessional. No Apology, No Ownership - Only Demands for Payment After ruining the start of our reception and causing unnecessary stress for our entire venue's staff, Mark never once apologized, not when we spoke to him at the wedding, not the next day, not at all. Instead, he had the nerve to approach my husband that night to demand payment on the spot. Mind you, we had already attempted multiple times to coordinate payment with him prior, but Mark operates on a 1995-level system where he only takes payments in person at his restaurant, forcing us to go out of our way just to make a deposit in the first place. Post-Wedding Disrespect & Refusal to Negotiate The next day, we attempted to discuss a fair adjustment to the cost, considering the gross negligence and incompetence displayed by his team. When asked how he would make things right, he continued making excuses, claiming they left an hour earlier than necessary but still arrived late (which makes no sense at all). When we pressed him further on how he would adjust the pricing, he smugly stated that he had already "given us a discount" despite never providing an itemized bill in the first place. His idea of compensation? A mere $250 deduction on a $7,000 bill. After discussing it, my husband and I felt that a $500 reduction was more than reasonable. I called Mark back to propose this very fair adjustment, and what does he do? * Immediately refuses to negotiate. * Demands full payment despite his failures. * Hangs up on me. Final Verdict: DO NOT TRUST THIS CATERER This man only cares about money, not about service, not about professionalism, and certainly not about his customers. The fact that he refused to own up to his failures and then hung up on a paying client says everything you need to know. If you value reliability, professionalism, and integrity, STAY FAR AWAY from this caterer. I wouldn't trust them with a backyard BBQ, let alone an event as important as a wedding. Save yourself the stress and find a caterer who actually respects their clients. read more

Well I found one.the oxtails were very tender and juicy now the rice had I think they were chic peas and not the kidney beans and when I tasted it they stole my heart. I didn't ask for anything special about my food but they fixed it just how I liked it. All of the food was juicy and tasty. It was located in a plaza with Publix right on the corner. Which grasp my attention instantly. The young lady welcomed me as I was there before or if we were the best of friends which was very pleasant to me.
