Got the Jerk Steak wrap and the jerk chicken plate. Steak Wrap - filled with black beans and rice , the jerk sauce and spicy mango habenero sauce were a great complement. It's a pretty decent size and tastes great! Jerk Chicken - super flavorful. I was a bigger fan of the chicken than the steak. The pick de Gallo and the onions really complemented the chicken and rice. Plantains + other fries goodness. Wow, I recommend getting both and eating them at the same time. Ok, so I was super excited to find a Caribbean spot closer to where I live, but THIS WILL NOT BE THE PLACE. The Pros: The Plantains (but how can u really mess up fried sweet Plantains. The Cons: They are not selling rice and peas, they are selling rice with kidneys beans. And it is bland...and for some odd reason there is salsa on it. Salsa...?? This is not jerk chicken. It's pieces of dark meat with bbq sauce on it. And not even spicy BBQ sauce. Save your money and go either to Dhat Island or Island Breeze. Yelp please allow 0 star option. Service was terrible, walking into the store I heat the cashier disgruntled saying I can't wait to get off in a few minutes . The food was horrible. I've never had crunchy/beef jerky like oxtails before up until today macaroni and cheese was stoic and tasteless. The rice was hard in some spots. I don't know if it was the last pot that they were cooking. Also, I ordered three beef patties got to. One was completely burnt to the center I couldn't even chew it. So I looked at the other two and they were burnt as well. She looked in the bag and replaced one of them and said the other one was ok. I said " I don't wast it". She properly put it back in the grate to give it to the next customer. And still gave me another burnt one that I failed to check the bottom of. The food here is soooo good. Easy 10/10 every time I come. This is the easiest choice for my lunch/post workout meal especially since it's well balanced and delicious. It's kinda like chipotle in a sense where you can build your meal, but the flavors of the meat is just out of this world. Jamaican cuisines are not usually so accessible so the way they've set this up has been a total game changer. The meat is so tender and flavorful it is just chefs kiss My go-to is a bowl with jerk chicken, rice & some veggies with extra jerk sauce & a festival (fried cornbread) on the side.. I've even asked the owner if I could get bulk to meal prep at home & omg that was a great option. Love this place! Think of it as Jamaican/California fusion, a clever idea! The menu is customizable too, fun to order. You choose what kind of meal you want. Wrap, bowl, salad. Then choose protein, sides, and sauce. They have two plant-based options, tofu and cauliflower. I'm accustomed to vegetarian menu items feeling a little like an after thought. Frozen burger patty. Or a never thought. Ever made a meal out of side dishes? Not here! The cauliflower is crispy and sprinkled with spice mixture, so good. And the tofu is pan cooked instead of fried, nice touch. I've never had anything I didn't like and it's always hard to choose. Portions are generous, it's usually two meals for me. If you get plantains, ask for salt. And if you can stand a bit of heat, the jerk sauce is amazing. The flavor profile of this food is complex. I feel fortunate to have something so delicious in our community. I am Caribbean and I know what the food should taste like and this doesn't even taste like a try. The beef is actually loin meat that's severely over cooked and you can't tell the beef from the chicken because it shreds to pieces. The jerk sauce to me is like apple cider vinegar and even though guacamole doesn't go with the menu at least have it freshly made instead of squeeze from a bag. Saw this spot on instagram and decided to hop in the car, drive 40 minutes and check it out...... BAD IDEA! I guess there were two food spots sharing one location. The person taking orders for the "Jamaican" food side wasn't the friendliest but maybe she was having a bad day. For as long as we had to wait for the food you would think it would taste great and had a better presentation. Let me start by saying $30 for each platter was beyond ridiculous and not worth it. Dont get me wrong, I don't mind paying $$$ for food that is worth it... But between the two plates there was a TOTAL of three oxtails (one in one plate and two in the other), there was a burnt taste and smell. I've have better macaroni and cheese out of a box. If this was their "most popular" side these folks are in trouble. The best part of the plate was the plantains and they were a 6/10 at best. Every other Jamaican restaurant that I have patronized has given a hefty amount of food, the flavor was spot on and the wait wasn't 30 minutes. Great food. Great folks! I flew to Hangar 24 Craft Brewery from Crestline on my hang glider and was pleasantly greeted by the staff who were set up behind the picnic area near where I parked my glider. I ordered the $12.00 jerk chicken meal which I enjoyed w/ an IPA from Hangar 24. It was enough food for two but after struggling in the air for two hours I burned a lot of fuel. Soooooo I tried this place a couple of months back, and went back yesterday to give it one last try. Came primarily for the oxtail smash burger. The first time I ordered it I got a single patty with cheese and they put no oxtail on it. So I went back and showed the guy (same one who's all over the IG videos) and he apologized and remade it. I thought it was an honest mistake. Then, when I went back yesterday same and the exact same thing happened- this time we ordered a double (my friend and I were sharing) and there was no sign of oxtails on this burger. When I said something to one of the women behind the counter she said the oxtail was in the gravy, but there wasn't even any gravy on it. Even after showing her she tried to convince us that it was cooked into the meat, but that is NOT what's advertised and not what I got the first time (after it was remade). The couple sitting in front of us heard us voicing our frustrations and came up to us and said "yall are trying to figure out where the oxtail is too"lol they gave them the same burger with no oxtail and that started to upset me. Eventually Another young lady came from the back when she heard my friend and she offered to remake it. All that to say, the first time it seemed like it was an honest mistake but after this encounter I realized they're out here tricking the people, and I don't like that. They post this delicious burger and then give you its less attractive cousin and only fix it if you call them on it. I ordered online and drove 15 mins and my order wasn't ready they hadn't even started she picked up the phone and told me it would be ready in 8mins then gave them the order to fill so this is a very busy place if u place and order online I'd call and make sure the order gets filled I ordered at 3:46p and my food was ready until 4:20p I leave at that time and I'm driving home I take out a fry and there lupe warm I get home and my oxtail bowl is missing the steamed veggies side item and the Mac and cheese wasn't good it tastes watery and for 19.99 I thought I would've gotten more then 1 yes u heard me right I got 1 oxtail, the burgers were good tho but rather small for the price and there patties are handmade so they could make them bigger and to make matters worse the patties were burnt but I could tell that the flavor is there the mango punch was pretty good will I return not sure yet can't make any promises. read more

We had the oxtail smash burger which is the best smash burger we've ever had. We also got the combo chose the stewed chicken, macaroni and cheese and plantain. The rice and peas were the best I've had in California to date. Cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Stewed chicken was good. Macaroni was decent. I'm returning today for the first time in over a year and I am so sad to say it was horrible, dry chicken. I ordered the jerk chicken wrap with Pico $11.96. biggest waste of money I don't know if there are new owners now? Over spiced so hot, hotter than Thai chili peppers.
