While looking for a new spot to pick up dinner we decided to check this spot. This Jamaican spot has some of your favorite items. We ordered a few things for take out and the food came out Fairly quick. Staff were pleasant and grateful for the visit. They are a HALAL spot so no pork. We had the fried chicken with rice and peas, plantain and cabbage . Everything on that plate was really delicious. We order a side jerk chicken which was nicely seasoned and had a good amount of spice. The escovitch snapper with dumplings and bananas were also really good , BUT burnt my mouth of how spicy it was. But so good.

Great flavors and very consistent. If you don't like spicy stay away from the jerk. But if you do this jerk chicken has a flavorful kick. The chef is really do something special. I also tried the chicken soup and was not disappointed. Full with veggies & dumplings. This spot is also halal. Will definitely be back to try the curry goat / chicken.

Came across the Jerk Spot in Pembroke Pines and we just had to check it out. Obviously, with a name like Jerk Spot, we figured we had to order the Jerk Chicken Lunch Special, which came with plantains, peas and rice topped with brown stew gravy, a soda, and a side of jerk sauce, all for just $8.50. Not only was it packed with flavor, but the portion was generous and filling. The restaurant has a casual, welcoming vibe. You order at the counter, and the lady taking our order was super friendly and made great recommendations for our group. There are plenty of small tables if you want to sit and eat with friends. I'll definitely be back for lunch and can't wait to try more of the menu! Also, glad I got a Jamaican Beef Patty to go too!

MOSTLY BASED ON VALUE BUT ALSO ON TASTE. Well myself and my family were ardent supporters of the previous establishment in this location (Tropical Twist). I stopped going to establishments during the entire pandemic becauae of very major heal issues and just lately started back venturing out. When l decided this year to seek out a pan of sprat and some king fish slices, l decided driving to Coral Springs for the Sprat for $30/pan as last year was too much. So l placed my order here and was hoping with all the live videos on Facebook, l would be exceedingly happy. It was nice to see the chef l remember vaguely still there. Tricia is a very pleasant and courteous staff member. So is the owner. I thought since breakfast is served, they would have been open but apparently not till 11:30 a.m. l have to get right down to value! Value is the category where a business succeeds or fails; as is taste of course. My order was a fail specifically in terms of the Kingfish slices. The photos here shows $48 of king fish! Let me repeat; $48 of king fish. Personally, "l" have NEVER seen slices this small. I glanced at the box there but only realized how small they were when l got home and my sister laughed me to another country for stupidity. Had l taken a more critique notice, l would have left it. Even with dinner meals l have purchased recently, a single slice is 2x this size shown here. These alices are 2.5 inches across by 3.5 inches approximately as l measured a few. I DON'T MIND SPENDING MONEY FOR VALUE. BUT THIS IS HORRIBLE. VERY DISAPPOINTED. THEY HAD STOOD TO GAIN A CUSTOMER WHO SELDOM COOKS AND BUYS A LOT. Sprat 4* Festival 3* Sauce 3* and limited Kingfish slices 0* (my neighbor who ordered 5 snappers from his selected establishment in Pines got the same amount of sauce l got for two orders of fish)! Seeing most low reviews are about my same issue of price and value, l hope this serves to help management make improvements. That should be $35/pan. Yelp has worst spelling or correction capabilities.

    Jerk chicken lunch special

The first time I've had jerk chicken from a restaurant and actually tasted the jerk. I ordered the lunch special which comes with a drink. Pack your patience it's a 2 man show and they are working to their best ability to serve the customers. Restaurant dinning area was clean and just the right size to have a quick bite.

Let me start with the good! I had the rice and peas with oxtail gravy. That was delicious and very flavorful. The cabbage was cooked to the perfect texture. Not too hard, not too soft and seasoned well. However... the chicken didn't seem cooked enough for me. The staff did let me know that they smoke the chicken and check the temperature to make sure it is cooked thoroughly. I just couldn't get over how it looked and the texture. I took it home and popped it in the air fryer before eating and it was delicious. Well seasoned, authentic jerk flavor. I wouldn't go back for the chicken though because of the way it looked when served. Maybe it's just me and what I'm used to. I would try something else there though because the staff was very nice and everything else on my plate was good.

    Jerk Chicken Pasta

-Everything was well seasoned and cooked. -The sauce for the jerk chicken pasta was creamy, with a nice level of heat . -the jerk chicken was well seasoned, spicy, and smoky. You can tell that it's really smoked, because of the pink layer underneath the skin (smoke ring, for those who don't know much about smoking/barbecuing. -The brown stew Kingfish was more than adequate portion size. It was fried hard, without drying out, which I especially loved. Brown stew sauce was more savory, than sweet (which I really enjoyed, because too many places nowadays make their brown stew with sugar.) -the customer service was far and away better than any customer service that I've had any other Jamaican restaurants. Even if the food wasn't as great as it was, I would most likely come back for the great customer service. I'm tired of spending my hard earned money at places that treat me like an inconvenience.

This place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ‼ Very professional, polite, friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable staff. I called the jerk chicken pasta what we Yankees normally call it, "Rasta Pasta," and the staff politely corrected me and also offered a bit of education on why they'd prefer it not to be called that. I love the authenticity! I love the ambience of smooth Bob Marley playing in the background. The food was top notch. The Jerk Chicken Pasta was amazing and you guys would definitely be coming back for more; I know I will‼

For $60, their brunch offers unlimited drinks and food. I dont know what I expected but the quality and flavor of the food caught me off guard. The Jamaican spread was delicious. From jerk chicken and pork to pepper shrimp, oxtail and dumplings. The pepper shrimp is a must try! Brunch drinks were Bellinis, mimosas, margaritas and rum punch. Pro tip: mix the Bellini with a little rum punch and thank me later Chef Ricardo was an absolute darling, making rounds to our table, to ensure we were ok. I have to mention Michael, the manager, going above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed. He joined in on our birthday celebration and kept the vibe going with birthday shots. The DJ here was also incredible. Spinning hip hop, reggae, dancehall, soca, mixing it just right for the diverseness of the crowd. Hookah was also on point. A bit pricy but well made. The bathroom situation was a little disappointing. Two stalls in the female bathroom with only one working. Hopefully this is not a permanent situation and will be looked at soon. There is lots of free parking around the restaurant. Great food & good vibes

I saw hookah in the garden area and its mention that the brunch is great. I came in for the first time on a week evening for a late dinner. When we sat we noticed that the menu was small and had no prices . Yikes ! Anywho we decided to stay. For drinks we had the lychee dragonfruit margarita 10/10 and Hennessy rum punch 10/10 but they took forever to arrive to the table. For starters we had the lobster fritters which I was imagining something completely different. It was not terrible but I didn't enjoy it. For dinner I had the lobster and shrimp Alfredo pasta which was so flavorful. We also had the oxtail with white rice and plantain which the oxtail was tender and flavorful. Overall the service was a bit slow but the food was fresh and came hot to the table. For was also very good. However it is overpriced for some people as our bill was about $200

Island Tings in Miramar definitely delivered if you're craving real Caribbean comfort food…read more I ordered the curry chicken and it was exactly what you want from a spot like this. The chicken was tender, well seasoned, and soaked in that rich curry sauce. It came piled over rice with veggies and potatoes mixed in, and the flavors were deep and authentic. You can tell it's the kind of food that's been cooked slow and done right. The portions were solid too definitely a filling meal. Perfect if you're hungry and want something hearty. The restaurant itself has a cool island vibe inside with the beach murals and bright colors that make it feel relaxed and laid-back. The setup is simple cafeteria style, so you move down the line and pick what you want, which keeps things moving. If you're in Miramar and want real Caribbean flavors without the fuss, this spot is worth the stop. Good portions, flavorful food, and a chill atmosphere.

As the place was empty and two women working were talking at the bar I walked in and went to sit. One of the women asked if I was with the group and then told me I needed to wait to be seated. It was awkward. It was a bit rude. Most times it's not what you say, but how you say it. Maybe it's just me, but the waitress immediately informed me that three items weren't available, including biscuits and cornbread of some sort. As a first-timer, it was weird. Fortunately, everything got better from there. My first meal, regardless of time, needs to be breakfast-y. As I perused the weekday brunch menu via QR code (what if you don't have a phone?) I ordered a coffee and water. The water came quickly, but the coffee took its time. I ordered the Wafflette (don't you want to try things you can't get other places?) It came as pictured and was good. The syrup was quite watery and left a lot to be desired, but I really didn't need it. The star of this dish is the bacon. I could have bathed in this bacon. It was thick and chewy, such a nice compliment. I don't know if there are bar stools available and whether they set up center aisle seating when it's more crowded, but the restaurant appeared clean and well-kept. There were no rounds available when I went, so I don't know how they accommodate groups of 10+, I sat along the banquette that could accommodate two. I am very interested in returning to try the ox tails, which are available in two (or was it three) dishes on the menu. I look forward to revising my review then.
