All the reviews are very dated. That is never fair for restaurants, and the public likes recent…read morereviews too, so here is a recent review. In the past few months (March, May July 2023), I have eaten there 3 times. Each and every time the food was excellent, the staff friendly and efficient. The restaurant is clean. You can't beat the prices. You'll love the simplicity of the basic meals that are consistently very good, down-to-earth home cooking. I don't understand the owner's talk of "dinner". They close at 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. so I'm thinking they serve just breakfast and lunch only, unless they serve salmon and other common dinner entries on Friday and Saturday before closing at the posted hour of 2:00 p.m. I did send them a suggestion that they post the time that they stop serving breakfast, because it is quite a drive out to the airport and by the time you get seated, you are ready for a great breakfast. It's a heartbreaker to hear "Oh I'm sorry, we quite serving breakfast 20 minutes ago". Especially when your heard is set on pancakes and sausage! Made me cry. But I went ahead with a lunch, and it was very good.

Be sure to call before coming to this restaurant...business hours are very irregular. I enjoy…read morecoming here for a decent meal while watching the aerodrome, and it is disappointing to see a notice near the entrance and over the posted business hours that says "closed today".

Had to ask for silverware and our food was brought out one at a time 5 minutes or more apart. Tri-tip was lukewarm and tough and baked potato had very small amount of butter you could barely see it. Tri-tip served was 5 small slices. I received 3 and one guy noticed and brought me a couple more on a plate. Texas small toast was lukewarm and hard. Waters were never refilled. Did not offer another cocktail and I had to ask to pay and he called me to the bar. Summary Place was clean, salads and drink was good but actually dinner was lukewarm. You could tell all was just reheated and did not check on us once we got food. I had to ask for silverware which is when noticed I only received partial slices of meat. Not the professional customer service I expect at a restaurant. I do realize not formal restaurant but I have received better service at a fast food restaurant. Will not recommend nor be back! I ordered the hunk o grilled cheese. If by "pepper jack, provolone and cheddar melted together on fresh French bread" means two slices of velveeta on Texas toast, then that's what I got. My husband's tri-tip was filled with gristle and his seasoned fries were unbearably salty - and he over salts EVERYTHING. Maybe it was just an off Thursday night because the food and the live music singer's pitch were kind of sketchy. It was rough!

We didn't know what all the wing types were and she explained them and the spice level. Helped us get the wings and pizza ordered. We grabbed a beer from the bar before we went to sit on the patio because it's a beautiful day outside. We were the only ones out here and it was peaceful. The wings came out and they were delicious and the ranch that came with it was big. The were crispy, perfectly cooked and mild like it said. The pizza then came out, we got the mama Mia pizza (#9). The bottom has a little crunch, the toppings look/tasted fresh and we were happily full. When the pizza came out the waitress asked us if we wanted ranch and she brought out a whole squirt bottle of it on ice and it was very good ranch. (I like a decent amount of ranch on my pizza especially the crust). 10/10 recommend and when we're back in town, we will definitely be back! So much space for lots of people. Looks like there is entertainment weekend nights and has a very relaxed and nice vibe about it. Look at the picture for the pizza and view in the patio.

Up until recently, the food had been consistently superb, which is why my last two visits were disappointing. I previously ordered the beet salad and absolutely loved it. However, during my visit two weeks ago, it was completely different from what's shown on their website and Yelp menu. Instead of being served on a plate with arugula, it came in a bowl with kale. The kale was extremely tough and difficult to chew, and there were very few beets in the salad -- I actually had to search for them. Overall, it felt like a completely different dish from the one I had enjoyed before. Last night, I ordered the seared scallops with corn risotto. I was told they were out of corn and would substitute asparagus, which I agreed to. The corn risotto I've had there before was excellent, with plenty of corn and great flavor. This version, however, looked like half an asparagus spear had been blended into the risotto, so there really wasn't any noticeable asparagus flavor at all. What also stood out was the portion size compared to previous visits. Last year, I remember paying around $26-$28 for this dish and receiving four nice-sized scallops along with a generous serving of real corn risotto. This time, the dish cost $36 and came with five very small scallops -- about quarter-sized. The flavor was still very good, as it always has been, but the increased price combined with noticeably smaller portions left me feeling unsatisfied. The bright spot is the service. The waitresses there are always excellent, friendly, and attentive, which definitely helps the overall experience. Will I return? I'm honestly undecided at this point. It's hard to justify paying $36 and still leaving hungry. In fact, afterward I walked down to the Pikey and grabbed a hamburger -- and that review will be a much happier one. Yum!

There is certainly chicken so if you are hungry or want some pretty good bar food with drinks, there is that, be sure you have your cab money though, its easy to get swept away, its a lot of fun. The staff in general are quite good too. For the part of town you find Chicken N Cheers in I think they do a VERY GOOD job at conducting the overall atmosphere. They aren't there to be baby sitters, they are there to create an atmosphere that people would like to hang out in and they accomplish that in spades; I think that is the sign of a GOOD bar. Having been to many of the bars in town, Chicken N Cheers does it right. I have gone around 5 times now and every time I enjoyed myself. The crowd is generally on the younger side and are sociable. And that is GOOD. I understand that some have maybe judged them a bit too rowdy, but I'd say to those folks the establishment does do a GOOD job at threading that needle, you know "boys will be boys" and to be realistic with those sorts of expectations. Chicken N Cheers lives up to its name, practice your song at home, then bring it by and hand it off to Weezy, please, know your limit, and don't blame them for not being mind readers. 5 Stars.
