After passing by this restaurant I had to stop by. $11.99 steak and eggs is something I could not pass on. I barely made it and I felt so bad because I arrived 10 minutes before they closed. Good thing I already knew what I wanted. I was served very fast and I ate just as fast being so hungry. The service was great and food was so delicious. I wanted to buy some socks from the gift shop but the ladies ringing me up were confusing. They even confused me because I wanted to pay with cash for the meal to leave a tip and card for the socks. I have eaten in several Black Bears and I have even had meals at this one but my breakfast was horrible this morning. I ordered Eggs Benedict and the first thing that I noticed was that the hollendice sauce was broken and not very tasteful. I can tell how they poached the egg, they did it in water and didn't let them drain very much and my English muffin was soggy, the only thing that was really good was the ham, it was very tender. I was headed to Klamath Falls, Oregon to pick up a dirt bike and had a craving for sweet pancakes at 3 pm Glad there's Black Bear Diner to satisfy my craving. The restaurant is a step up from Denny's but not quite a mom and pops shop. It's clean and pleasant to eat at. Being here reminds me of my clubbing days in my 20's. Black bear does a consistently good job at very basic food. It's reasonably priced and the quality is good.

Food and service was great. Only word of advice. Do not serve salted butter with waffles. Maybe some people like it. With my heart condition, too much salt could cause my heart explode lol. At first I thought that they added a lot of salt in the batter. Then I noticed it said salted on each piece of butter. Other than that, I'd eat there again. Just got to make sure there is no salted butter included. read more

Food came to the table cold French toast wasn't cooked all the way eggs weren't cooked all the way bacon tasted nasty. Server wasn't much better brought her to go order before we were done eating so by the time I got home, it was cold. Won't eat there again. read more

I ordered my food online and picked it up at the diner, when I got there it was already packed and ready to go. The staff there is very friendly, the wait time get food is quick also. When I brought the open face sandwich home I was Impressed at how much food there was, it probably weighed two pounds! It only took one bite to make me remember when my grandmother and mom made for us growing up. The black bear diner tasted just like theirs. There was so much chicken and gravy that I even made two more sandwiches the next day. When you go there, you better be hungry and when you leave plan on getting a doggie bag because there will be Lots left over. Highly recommend for good old fashioned home cooked meal! read more

Stopped in on a road trip on Thanksgiving Day and the place was hopping. We were seated quickly, service was excellent and friendly, reliable diner food in large portions. Much better option than grabbing fast food while traveling on the holiday. read more

Well a year ago I left a less than stellar review... today however I stopped in to give Black Bear another go...,and I'm glad I did. While I didn't grab a pic, the food was fantastic! I had the meat lover's omelette and it was so good !! Our server was friendly and did a great job, and was very attentive to our needs. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived so we had a few minute wait which for the time of the night wasn't terrible. The kitchen and wait staff were very busy but they were really working hard pushing the orders out to the guests..I was impressed by the fact that the manager Chris was totally hands on working in the kitchen and on the floor helping to make things move smoothly. Rudest customer service ever. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, an old waitress was rushing me when I ate my meal and kept going through my table and just giving me the evil eye as soon as I finished, she basically rushed me out of my seat. When I went over to pay, no cashiers were even present until five minutes later and she was also very rude and tried to make me look like an idiot by saying that the chip is this way as loud as possible so everyone can hear. This diner is BUSY! Wait staff is fast and friendly, but probably not a place for you if you're in a hurry. The food ranges from OK to pretty good. I had an amusing BLT once that had gobs of thick bacon, but three paper-thin - I'm not exaggerating - slices of tomato. More like shavings than slices. Somebody should have run over to Albertsons for some more tomatoes. Anyway, whatever you order, it will be traditional American diner food, better than big chains (Denny's - ugh) and huge portions that will have you ready for your day of logging or road-tarring. Came for a family trip as a group of 7 as attended right away around 7pm and all drinks and food on time. Only problem was the tenders weren't a hit. We went to black bear on a Saturday for the prime rib, which we've had before at other locations. We didn't get there late, yet the meat was way over cooked even though we asked for med rare. It also had no flavor like it hadn't been seasoned. It almost felt like left over from the day before. We took one bite and sent it back.
