Cavatelli Nero
Briana C.

I have not stopped thinking about this restaurant since I went!! It is quietly tucked away and the parking lot is very small so I recommend taking rideshare if you can. But the food! The food is amazing. My friend and I split the meatballs to start and they did not disappoint! Then I decided to try the crab pasta. It was delicious but a very small portion which was a little sad. My friend had the lamb which I tried a bite of and it was very very good! I'll be getting that next time. I love the open kitchen concept. They also have a great patio! The staff were patient when I couldn't decide on what to eat and when we didn't realize they closed. They even offered dessert still and let me tell you.... I have been thinking about it since I had it. Best Tiramisu I ever had in my life and I don't like most tiramisu's! It's definitely worth checking this place out!

Linguini pasta ($20) with 6 pieces of shrimp, n'duja, yellow tomato, chili and mint.

First time trying The Jimmy's, my husband and I were excited and decided to grab a spot on the patio with our dog, Flanders. We were greeted by a server who gave us water and then explained she wouldn't be our server but the bartender would be. I think we must have come at a point during staff transition because I feel like the bartender shouldn't be a server too. Anyways, took awhile to be greeted by him and for him to take our order (he had 3 other tables to greet and take orders from). While we were waiting the manager brought out a water bowl for our dog, really nice touch! My husband and I wanted to try a few different items so decided to share. We started with the Salisccia Pizza ($23) which has House-made Fennel Sausage, red onion, and Ricotta cheese. The pizza had a great, crunchy crust and really good cheese. We did order a side of hot honey (which was a nice pairing) but when we got our bill we saw it was $4, which felt a bit steep. It would've been nice if our server (the bartender) had mentioned the upcharge before tacking it onto the bill. The other dish we ordered was the Linguini pasta ($20) with 6 pieces of shrimp, n'duja, yellow tomato, chili and mint. The pasta was solid but small for the price. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, the sauce had a bit of a spicy kick, and the yellow tomatoes added a nice pop of flavor. The mint was a bit of a no-show, but it didn't take away from the overall dish. The atmosphere at The Jimmy's was laid-back, with a decent crowd enjoying wine and cocktails outside, which made for a pleasant, relaxed vibe. Overall, I'd say it's a good spot to chill with friends or bring your dog, but a few small details kept it from being a standout experience for us. We'd probably come back, but with tempered expectations.

Service was fantastic. Food is good...... had a PLT sandwich and my colleague had the chicken parm which was better than the sandwich. Also, I've had the meatballs on the dinner menu and was surprised at how delicious!

Absolutely loved The Jimmy! Super cute restaurant in Myers Park with good vibes and great food and cocktails. The inside is bright and well decorated, but can get a bit loud. There is also a great patio space. One issue with The Jimmy is the limited parking lot, but you can also try to find street parking. The service was good and as fast as expected on a Friday night. I thought the food was delicious! We split a pizza for an appetizer which was great and I loved the cacio e pepe! I look forward to returning to The Jimmy!

Solid Italian spot that we're happy to have in the area! The interior is comfortable and nicely lit, service is very friendly and helpful, and there's also a large patio. There's a parking lot behind the building, but it was full when we arrived, so we found street parking in the neighborhood. Now let's talk food! The cavatelli nero had a generous portion of blue crab, along with corn. These were tossed with black pasta - which I honestly would have appreciated more of to make this a heftier portion. Slightly spicy and flavorful with great texture. One of the specials for the night were mussels in a saffron broth. Although not the best mussels dish I've had in the area, the charred bread really complemented this dish well. Meatballs app was tasty and classic with flavorful, meaty balls in red sauce. We ended with tiramisu, which seemed a bit small for the price tag ($14). I really enjoyed the ratio of coffee-soaked cake to mascarpone. Just wish there was more to enjoy!

Great experience! We popped in on a stormy Friday night and sat at the bar. We ordered drinks and food from the bartender. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and seemed to enjoy his time working with his coworkers - they all seem to like each other! We ordered the rigatoni and cavatelli nero. Both were delicious and fully eaten. Since we were still hungry, we also split a Quattro Formaggi pizza. Very much enjoyed all our food - no crumbs! The bar was nice, and the rest of the restaurant was buzzing, nicely decorated and lively. They have a musicians play on Wednesdays I believe and a patio too for nice days. Parking lot for easy access right off of the main road. Happy with our experience and would pop in again.

Excellent service, phenomenal food, and great ambiance. Everything on the menu sounded so amazing it was hard to decide what to get! Will definitely be back.

Delicious food! I have been once two years ago and thought about it ever since. Finally got to go back again this weekend - from the service, the cocktails, the environment - perfect Friday night spot for the girls, date night, nicer dinner, etc. can't recommend the food and cocktails enough.

Burrata and prosciutto pizza

What a gem!! The service was the highlight of this place. The host and server both went out of their way to welcome us and make it an exceptional dining experience. As for the food, we split the burrata prosciutto and pistachio pizza and the Caesar salad. The salad was awesome - a very creative rendition of a Caesar salad, and it was a generous portion to split as a side to our entree. The pizza was also good, but I'd opt for a different flavor next time! It was a little wet with the type of toppings/cheese, and the prosciutto wasn't your typical dark prosciutto, but overall great flavor and the crust was awesome. The patio was also lovely! Would love to come again with a group to try a few of their appetizers and /or sit at their bar (which looked lovely). Would definitely recommend.

The Jimmy had been on our list of places to check out for a while and I'm glad we finally went! We got the meatballs, mussels, and the cavatelli, all of which were good. The meatballs were tender, the mussels came with a grilled bread that went perfectly with the broth, and the cavatelli came with a good amount of blue crab, plus the sweet corn with the pasta was a nice combo. For dessert we got the tiramisu which was excellent. We will definitely be back!

Restaurant is very pretty inside and the staff is friendly. The food was brought out right away nice and hot but we felt veryyy rushed by the waiter eager to turn the table as fast as possible. We just got an appetizer and was asked 3 times for our dinner order and half way through our entrees and asked about dessert and delivered the bill. Wasn't the best ambiance. The rigatoni was really good and the carbonara was good but not great. It didn't have a ton of flavor. It was quite pricey for the portions size and overall lack of ambience

Very clearly the best late night pizza option in Charlotte. May just be the absolute best pizza…read moreoption period. We stopped in here for a weeknight late bite when our options were somewhat limited. Thankfully at that hour, street parking in NoDa wasn't too bad, we got a spot just off the main drag. Slices here are GIGANTIC, one is easily about 3 standard slices of pizza, or two normal NY size slices. We got a pepperoni and a cheese. The pepperoni had nice kick to them and the cheese was a high quality. You had to let the pepperoni grease drain onto your plate a bit, but that is expected. The thing that makes both slices so good is the garlic butter bath all around the crust that you can see them doing in the kitchen. Not just that, but the texture in the crust will make even non-crust lovers think again. You're basically left with big doughy garlic butter breadsticks. Definitely a 5 on taste. My only complaint, and I'm sure it is partly by design to keep people from staying long, the stools you can sit on to enjoy your pizza inside the restaurant are THE WORST I have ever placed my derrier on. Even for 15 minutes, it wasn't just uncomfortable, it was painful. It took me a couple blocks to start walking correctly again. Might as well just get rid of them and have people stand to eat. Terrible. Almost knocked a star off for it, that bad. Regardless of the world's worst stools, I would come back for more pizza and just plan on not eating it there.

Loved the layout with seating inside and the open window out front, very inviting! Will add, best eaten fresh as when taken back to our hotel, it did lose its crispiness! But overall a great spot to check out.

Review for Pizza Baby…read more After a relaxing Vinyasa yoga class and sound bath at The Coterie Wellness one evening, I found myself hungry--and conveniently, Pizza Baby had just opened in the same complex. Perfect timing. Since it was still new, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and I decided to grab a table outside. The outdoor seating was lovely--relaxed, comfortable, and a great way to unwind after a wellness session. I'm a sucker for thin-crust pizza, especially when it's hand-tossed and thoughtfully prepared, so one item immediately caught my eye: the rosemary pizza with hot honey. Sold. I added Italian sausage to the pizza and paired it with a fresh green salad (I can never resist a good Green Goddess dressing). Yes, it was a little on the pricey side, but the quality matched the cost--and I was genuinely pleased with my choices. The crust was thin and flavorful, the toppings were balanced, and the hot honey added just the right touch of sweetness and heat. This is definitely a place I'd return to--next time with friends--so we can share a few different pizzas and appetizers and really explore the menu. A few practical notes: * Parking is generally easy since the restaurant shares a lot with neighboring businesses in the complex * There are several nearby spots, including a wine bar and entertainment venues, which make the area feel lively * There was some early parking congestion when a nearby church held services, but the situation has since been addressed with signage and coordinated parking solutions It's nice to see businesses and community partners working together to make things run smoothly. There's also another location of Pizza Baby that I plan to visit, which speaks to how positive my first experience was. Bottom line: Great thin-crust pizza, pleasant outdoor seating, and a convenient stop after yoga or an evening out. A solid addition to Charlotte's growing food scene--and absolutely worth checking out. And if you're already in the area for a class or wellness session, it makes for the perfect post-workout reward.

The waiter was efficient, not friendly but not unfriendly either, just doing his job pretty much. Would have been nice to have him check on us once or twice but again not the biggest deal. The pizza: my son really enjoyed it and gave it a 5/5 and hubby ranked it a 3/5. He thought the crust was a tad too soggy. Side Caesar: 3/5 had some pieces of the lettuce that should have never made it in the salad and the dressing was just okay. Morty: also a 3/5. Too much arugula, we took some out and then seasoned the rest with s&p and some crushed red pepper flakes. It just lacked a depth of flavor and the bread and arugula overpowered it. The seasoning helped a bit. I even added garlic aioli based on a review I read on here but I didn't taste it. The pasta salad it came with also lacked flavor, though very green and appearing loaded with flavor but it was gummy. Didn't finish that. Overall, it was okay but I'm not likely to return just because there are better options based on the things we tried. But taste is subjective and it just wasn't our vibe today. But check it out for yourself because we only tried three things and the pictures of the other pizzas do look amazing. That is all!

Their patio is so fun, the street you overlook is pretty chill so there weren't a lot of cars or noise. The area has good enough traffic for decent people watching, that's always fun. Our server was so funny and cool. I wish I could remember his name, but he was having a good convo with the person I was with about basketball and it was just really nice. It felt like I was home on my couch hanging with friends. It's such a cool chill place. I loved the pizza, olives app and the old fashioned.
