Dr. Corey is a genius! I will be honest, I was very hesitant to come here (I had bad experiences with chiros in the past) but Dr. Corey is unreal! The Joint pretty a stop and pop shop. You can walk in, get adjusted, and be on your way. Perfect for me. A lot of these other places want to sell you on long term packages etc, this isn't like that. They have options for packages but it's not a hard sell at all. I use chiropractic every once in a while and have had good experiences until the last time at The Joint. I have been a few times before with good experiences, so my complaint is with the last chiropractor I saw here, Bruce Bell. I don't know if he was upset, or too busy, but he hurt my neck. I'm in constant pain now. As we were walking to the back room he asked the receptionist where is Dr? (I don't recall the actual name of the other doctor) She said he would get there at 1 o'clock and it was already after one so I think maybe he was supposed to go to lunch at one? Or get off at one? I'm not sure. Whatever the reason he was preoccupied and rough with me. He was curt throughout the appointment and haughty. When he adjusted my neck I screamed out loud, and have been in acute pain ever since. I've had a constant headache and stiff neck since leaving my appointment November 14. My neck is still in a lot of pain, and now my shoulder hurts as well. I do not recommend this business any longer and will not be back. I wish that had never come in. I start physical therapy next week and fingers crossed it helps. read more

So I have been a member of The Joint for some time and I've always been going to one closest to my home. I thought they did good work but I stumbled upon this one because I happened to be in the neighborhood and my first session was a game changer. I'm further away from here but this place is worth the drive and I have completely abandoned the one I used to visit. This place has a rotation of new practitioners coming in frequently. I think most come in here to start and then branch out elsewhere but you get going and eager guys who care about problem points. That's what makes this place better because the practitioner at the site that I've left behind only did the same thing over and over again and didn't even care to ask what my problem areas were. I recommend checking this specific site out to try and see new providers and also get a better in depth analysis and care for your body. read more

I've been going to this location for about 4 months and have mixed feelings about this business Pros- -All the staff is friendly, polite, and appears to be trying their best -Dr Cory is skilled and has a great "bedside manner" -Dr Brightwell gives great adjustments but uses a little more power when he pushes (works for me but might not for everyone) -Pricing is reasonable - it's nice to be able to walk in and not set an appointment Cons -Not a great location for parking, spots are very narrow and often full -Billing and computer systems are inefficient. There has been many errors in managing my account and I've had to have my membership fixed multiple times. Front desk staff seems to always have challenges with the system -Mask wearing is very inconsistent with staff. One doctor in particular walked around the whole clinic maskless during my last visit (within mandated indoor mask wearing time period) - Inconsistency between doctors, some do more/less/different adjustments that others. I try to stick with the same 2 doctors as a result. - There's often a wait and I've been skipped in line a couple of times. The que is not always in order of arrival. Overall I have felt okay about my experience, mostly because of pricing. I definitely think there are changes that could be made to make this place run smoother. read more

The chiropractors are great and wonderful people. Beware their predatory billing practices and customer service though. I thought I cancelled my service after my last visit but found 4 months of charges on my credit card afterwards. Not a problem, generally companies are good about refunds when there is a miscommunication and no service was provided. Not this time though, they deliberately make it very difficult. The franchise owner actually called me and berated me about my banking practices, that I should have seen their charges earlier. Then referred to 'page 15' of the agreement where it stated I had to cancel 2 months in advance, in writing, in person. Then said he needed corporate approval for a refund even though he is an independent franchise, gave me an angry 'God Bless you,' and immediately hung up. I feel insulted. I guess I have to wait to see if I am lucky enough to get a call back from 'corporate' in a vague month or two. Not counting on that actually happening. Overcharged $280. read more

I chose the joint after a long work week. I went in on a Friday afternoon and the wait was understandable, nothing to complain about yet. I was taken back by Dr. Cory. It has been awhile since I was adjusted and Dr. Cory made me feel incredibly bad about myself almost laughing at my "really bad posture" that was causing back pain. I would've understood if he would've chosen to not keep repeating it in a way that felt incredibly demeaning. It was the shortest adjustment I've ever had, 4 positions max. When the adjustment was over, I didn't feel really any better, and my lower back hurt. I was told I felt this way because I "hadn't been adjusted in awhile." When checking out the woman at the front was pushy about buying a package and left a bad taste in my mouth. After leaving, the pain in my back got worse. By the next day, I couldn't walk without extreme pain. I had to go to the Doctor, have imagining some, etc. 3 weeks later, I am still not fully better. I called the joint and asked to speak with a manager to which I was told would be coming in the next day. I never even received a call back Save your time, energy, and money. read more

I was given to Dr. Brightwell today and it was my first visit. I have been frequenting chiropractic care for 40 years now and never a problem. Same lower back issue all the time so I know exactly what to expect. Dr. Brigtwell jerked my body so hard when he twisted me that immediately I started to hurt and could barely get up. I left in worse shape then when I came in. I can barely walk after what he did to me. Now I have to wait another day to get re-adjusted again to feel better. My chiropractor unfortunately is out for a while so I couldn't go to someone that knows me and my issues. Something was telling me not to go with this Dr. because everybody that came in while I was waiting asked who is working all they all requested the other chiropractor. Go figure. read more

I visited the Joint in Point Loma in December 2016. I had an adjustment that hurt my ribcage, I basically felt it crack. The chiropractor dr. Shah told me to put ice on it. However, that didn't help and it turned out I had a broken rib! I called the office, told them what happened and the receptionist wrote down my number. I assumed someone would get back to me but no one called. After we put in a few more calls dr. Shah finally did get back to us, my husband spoke to him. He said it never happened to him before but it can happen. I obviously won't be back and felt disrespected; an adjustment shouldn't hurt like this and when something like this does happen it is unacceptable that the Joint doesn't do anything with it. I also called the head office but they said every individual Joint is responsible for themselves. Well, this individual Joint provided no service. Bottomline: they are not responsible. As a chiropractor Dr. Shah is probably great for very muscled people, athletes and such; I am a sensitive person and his approach was (clearly) too rough for me! I have had chiropractic adjustments many times before by other chiropractors with great results, this was the first time an adjustment ever broke my rib. I am sure dr. Shah didn't mean for this to happen but if you are sensitive and decide to go here make sure you tell him not to be too rough on you ;-) read more

I had a very stressful week and I could feel all the tension I was carrying. I couldn't even relax my neck muscles, it was so tight. I was told you can just walk in here and I didn't think I could. Last time I went to a chiropractor, I was put through the wringer and needed xrays and evaluations and lots of waiting. But here, I went on their website and they had an introductory price. I decided to try it out. The Dr. was very helpful and explained a lot of things. My favorite was that he adjusted my full back. The last chiropractor I went to only did a half back.
