Decor was new, but plain except for all the fish swimming around. The place was very clean. Service was friendly, and courteous. Food came out super quick. Food was hot, fresh, tasty, and abundant. Seafood fried rice was a little spicy for a child. They give you these tiny metal plates that are ridiculously small. Also, they give you scissors, but no nut cracker. Price was very reasonable. Next time, I'll order specific items I want instead of the "party size" mixed seafood--too much work snipping the crab, and peeling the shrimp.

My rating is 3.5 stars. I'm rounding down. I am into happy hour menus. I find it a feat to figure out where all Pickle Barrel locations are in the greater Toronto area. I discovered this one at Bramalea City Centre when I used mall entrance 1 to get to a store. I made a mental note to check this eatery out. I came here after work last Monday to try their happy hour menu. After doing a bit of shopping, I took the escalator down. This Pickle Barrel has a to-go counter if you'd like to grab some food and drinks. Otherwise, you can dine in, which is what I did last week. I got a friendly female staffer at the front. I was looking for a table for me. She asked me whether I wanted to be near a window. I was good with whatever was available. I ended up in a cheerful area by the bar with natural light coming in thanks to all the windows. I got a female staffer who worked at the bar. This eatery wasn't terribly busy at around 3:30 pm on a Monday afternoon. She was nice, but seemed to be handling all orders with maybe five tables with customers. I got these items: - Diet Coke - Steak frites with sautéed mushrooms I asked that my steak be cooked medium. She asked whether I wanted sautéed mushrooms. I said yes. My Diet Coke came out first. It had a lemon wedge. It was cold and yummy. It took a long time to get a drink refill. Sam was another staffer who took over from this woman's bar duties. It was only when he approached my table that I was able to ask for a refill. It wasn't the best communication-wise that a shift change had commenced. I was just happy to get a drink refill. My steak frites came out next. I was looking forward to having this meal. What was disappointing was cutting through the sirloin steak. It looked like it was well-done with my first cut. I tried again and it looked briefly medium-well in the centre, but well-done around it. It was dry such that I went into a coughing fit for a brief period. It did not help that I was running low on Diet Coke. This meal came with fries. They were fine. Nothing to write home about. They came with ketchup, which was nice. I loved the sautéed mushrooms. They provided some moisture that the steak needed. I didn't bother with dessert. I asked Sam for the bill. I paid at the table. I tipped and tapped. Done! I used the washroom before I left. It had good signage. The women's washroom was clean. Here's hoping that my experience wasn't the norm. I'd like to try other items off the menu and see whether I get a better experience next time. I arrived around 7:00 PM for dinner and was able to get seated without a reservation, though it was clear that many guests had reservations as the restaurant quickly filled up. They offer a full bar with a great selection of beers, cocktails, and spirits. The dinner menu features an excellent variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. I started with the Chicken 65 appetizer and followed it with the Punjabi Goat Curry and Chili Garlic Naan. The Chicken 65 was absolutely phenomenal--wow, wow, and wow! The chicken was perfectly cooked and tossed with onions, garlic, and tomatoes that were blended and cooked down into a rich, flavorful sauce. Every bite was packed with bold spices and authentic flavors that made it one of the best versions of the dish I've had. The Punjabi Goat Curry was equally outstanding--tender, rich, and bursting with flavor. Paired with the Chili Garlic Naan, it made for a memorable meal. The portion sizes were very generous and could easily feed two people, making it an excellent value for the quality and quantity of food served. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and energetic. If you're looking for authentic, high-quality Indian cuisine, I highly recommend this restaurant. The Chicken 65 and Punjabi Goat Curry are must-try dishes. Thanks to Avreen for the recommendation--I'll definitely be coming back again!

March 29/2026: Dinner with my Al…read more This was an amazing experience. There were no issues with the meal or the service except a minor miss in the service of the items. Our start was the Cauliflower Bites ($12.00). They were heavily deep fried with a chipotle dip. The bites were very good & hot. The dip was tasty & hot but not too hot. The mains were the Butter Chicken ($21.00) & Tandoori Salmon ($28.00). The Butter Chicken was delicious & tasty. Little more chicken in the order would have been good but the sauce was fabo! Even though I'm not a salmon fan, the grilled salmon was delicious as well. This was all made possible by a chilli naan ($7.00). The wait staff were polite & very willing to serve. The ambiance showed as clean & well cared for. I did not use the washroom. This is a 100% do over!!
