Beef skirt brisket in slowed-boiled broth
    Christine L.

The restaurant is spacious and modern. Staffs are friendly and recommended the dessert buns. We ordered a few noodle items to try but everything looked so good. They even serve all kinds of different casserole rice. The noodle textures were chewy and perfectly cooked. My favourite was the beef skirt brisket soup but the pork stomach & chicken white pepper corn soup and the Buddha Jumps Over the Wall soup was delicious as well. It even comes with bird nest for $28. Dine in special only. The broths were umami and had good flavour to it. The desserts buns were amazingly yummy! I will definetely be back. 5 out of 5 imo.

Lovely ambience where you're surrounded by fish tanks. Clean and sanitized sets at each table wrapped with ceran wrap. Table also has boxed Kleenex and wet wipes. Great service. Lots of options for noodles, seafood, steam pot, hotpot, clay pot rice and more. Currently doing lots of promotions with noodles and some Buddah Jump Wall sets. Delicious food stating no MSG. All the great ingredients.

Pork Stomach and Chicken with Noodle in White Pepper Corn Soup ($14.95)

This location recently opened up for lunch service with a new noodle menu. We came in on the 1st day of the new menu, and the restaurant was not busy at all, prehaps not many people know about it yet. The restaurant was really nicely decorated inside with the fish tasks all around and spacious tables. I believe they were aiming for a more high end restaurant style. Out waitress was really polite and welcoming. We ordered 4 soup noodles. Everything came out fast and hot. I liked how they seperated the soup and the noodles so it doesn't get soggy! We didn't really like the skirt steak noodles, but the other 3 that we ordered were all really good. The white pepper soup was very flavourful, and the noodles they came with were definitely the best; they were soo chewy and delicious. The fish was SO good: crispy, very flavourful, and the batter was very light. I highly recommend this dish. I do wish it came with more fish though as there were only 4 pieces. The roast pig was also very flavourful and crispy but also seems very little. Perhaps for the fish and pig it would have been better if they at least also included a piece of vegetable like their pictures show. Portions are not huge, but they are filling enough. Overall, I would say this is a decent place for lunch and I would come back to try some of the other noodles on their menu.

My mom and I came on a Groupon for dinner for 2 for $59. It included 2 skewers of Spanish Iberica pork jowl meat kebobs, 2 lobster bisque soups, 1 fresh lobster per person and 1 tray of garden green vegetables. We made an early reservation so we were the only customers in the restaurant when we were seated. The server gave us special Groupon menus, just to remind us what we'd be getting, and explained some of the options on the placemat menu. We ordered mussels, cuttlefish and abalone to supplement what we already had. This greatly increased the cost of the meal. We should've ordered from the combos on the menu to get more bang for our buck. Ah well, there's always next time. Many of the reviews stated horrendous service but I found the opposite. It could've been that it was super early but our server checked up on us often to make sure that our food was steaming properly and if it was the appropriate time to cook more food. There is too much waste on the service side as a new pair of plastic gloves are put on each time something new gets steamed. I don't want to even imagine how many pairs of gloves the restaurant throws out every night when the restaurant closes. The restaurant feels much more spacious than the configuration of the previous restaurant but once it started filling up it got quite loud. I'd imagine that it'd be difficult to hear the other people in your party speak when the restaurant is full. We'll be back with more people to try some other items on the menu.

We were in the mood for some seafood and decided to drop by this place since it was a more healthier alternative incomparison to other Chinese seafood restaurants. The restaurant was located where the old Fisherman Lobster Clubhouse used to be. When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, it was completely dead with just 2 other tables in the big space. You basically pick a seafood set and they will fire up the steamer and start placing the items in the steamer for you and any jucies that drips during the cooking process, it will fall into the base of the steamer and will be used later to cook congee for you. We went with the their lunch special seafood combo for $80 which included the following: - tofu dish - 3 pork skewers - a steamer lobster - lobster tail sashimi - veggies We also ordered 6 oysters on the side. Their self serve sauce station was impressive. They had all the sauces and condiments you would need to make up your special sauce. Overall, the service was good and attentive but the food tasting was just okay in my opinion. I guess since the food was steamed, you can't expect that much flavor regardless of dipping in your special sauce.

Beautiful decor inside, great for a casual date night or special celebration. The service was amazing! The servers were so attentive and gave great recommendations on the menu. We got the groupon deal with a whole lobster, lobster bisque, Spain Iberico Pork kabobs and a veggie platter. We also opted to get the House Special Braised Noodles with lobster rose (highly recommend!) And the grilled bone marrow. Everything was delicious and well prepared. I would definately recommend this place and excited to come back soon!

TL;DR: Good but not great. Would only come with a Groupon. The Groupon included pork jowl skewer, lobster bisque, assorted vegetables and a fresh lobster each. We never got to try the skewers because they kept forgetting about it even though we reminded them and it finally came at the end of meal and we were too full to eat it. Lobster bisque was good but can tell it was cut with potatoes. The assorted vegetables we're a really odd combination of black fungus, pumpkin and cabbage. The lobster was perfectly steamed and delicious. Our server (male) was great. Super attentive and explained everything. The other server (female) loves tossing things on the table or placing it very far from where were sitting because that's convenient for her. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place without a Groupon. I think their steaks are exponentially better. Just my thoughts.

Enjoyed our seafood meal here, we got the winter special which had king crab, geoduck, lobster, and a few sides like lobster pasta, skewers, fois gras, rice etc. Seafood was fresh and the soup with rice at the end soaked up all the juicy flavour. Only improvement is to precut the king crab legs for the customers, this would allow an easier eating experience and improve presentation as well. Geoduck sashimi was interesting and first time I've had it that way. The innards was added to the soup. Price wise is a bit steep, because you have to expect to pay more than the meal set price. The seafood is likely over weight and they charge per lb, esp true for the king crab, as rhey will tell you that no king crab they have in the tanks is 5lb (the weight included in the set meal price). Service was ok, pretty typical chinese restaurant service, and restaurant was spacious and clean.

The food is fresh and very creative way to eat. Wide variety of meats in the combo with angus beef, crab and lobster. Definitely a place to try! Prices are fair too.

Grilled French Foie Gras $14.99 (2oz/Order)

This location used to be up at Leslie, and they moved to this Silverstar location where Fisherman Lobster Clubhouse used to be. The before 5:00pm special is a really good deal. The Vancouver crab was so fresh and steamed. When they bring it out, it was still moving. While the crab was steaming at the top, there is the soup cooking at the bottom. The fresh vegetables were lettuce, mushrooms etc. A good variety. It came with two chicken skewers and it was nicely marinated. The meal was for 2-3 people for only $59.99. Our waitress Hailey was very good and patient. The take out container was so cute. Will come back again to try other items.

3.5 stars - Interior looks similar to the restaurant it replaced. Minor details added to the walls above the tanks, and to the washrooms. Came for the grand opening special combo which costed $128 (serves 4 ppl). Menu for the night was printed in Chinese shown in photo below. The main attractions for me, were the crab and sea bass. Both portions were HUGE! I thought the sides were "meh", and they consisted of chicken, veggies, lobster thick noodles, pork skewers and soup in rice. The concept of watching your food steam in front if your eyes seems interesting, until you actually do it. Got kinda boring after the first dish (which was chicken). Once the second dish (veggies) were steamed and we had something to munch on, the other dishes seemed to cook faster. None of the food was marinated, so you would need to put together your own condiments (like at hot pot), and dip the steamed food in it for flavor. It took approximately 1.5 hours for the all the food to be steamed and consumed. Fun to try...at least once.

    Hotpot takeout combo
    Aretha C.

DISCLAIMER: REVIEW FOR TAKEOUT ONLY We got their heavily advertised hotpot combo. The included items were on the menu as well as on the radio, social media, etc. It's supposed to come with a tray of seafood, and meat, and your choice of soup. Good points: The variety of food was good and the pot of soup was very large and sufficient for the family. The angus beef was high quality; extremely tender. Bad points: Basically, they were out of crab (a heavy selling point in the ads) but did not inform us when we ordered. When we picked up the package, they said the crabs were sold out, and then they said there were no crabs because flights from vancouver were stopped. Hm. As compensation, they gave us more lobster. Except the lobster wasn't that fresh. Sad. Also, the package came in an insulated bag. Except it came with raw cold seafood, and a pot of HOT soup underneath, therefore cancelling the effect of an insulated bag. The raw seafood arrived warm. It's understandable that supply chains can be affected during this time, but it's important to be honest and transparent about any issues. Also a change in packaging would be appreciated. Maybe we'll try the food again when restaurants are open for dine-in.

    Lobster sashimi
    Betty F.

Day and Night has kept most of the of renos from Fisherman but kept it more spacious, which is a nice welcome. There is a sauce station that has multiple option. This is a small perk, but I like how they kept some of the sauces warm. I'm iffy on the food though. They offer both the hot pot option, and skewers, and their combos come with a fettuccine which felt out of place. The skewers that came with the combo are bland and boring. The ones from a la carte menu were much better quality. Our table ordered the seared foie gras, some pork belly one, and lamb. Pork belly was the best.

Plenty of seating for different sized groups, and the walls are lined with either wine, cuts of meat or tanks filled with various sea creatures. For dinner, we always have to order the lobster and steak combo. The steak has consistently been a flavourful medium rare (to our preference) and there is so much meat from these lobsters! I can't pick which way I like the lobster cooked more - steamed or wok fried.. both are delicious. For additional dishes, you can't go wrong with the short beef ribs and the pea shoots with king oyster mushrooms are a great option if you're trying to add veggies to a meat-heavy meal. The service staff are always on top of it. They are always coming around to make sure we have enough water at the table and food came out so quickly. I can't wait to come back again soon!

When we arrived, he insisted that we did not have a reservation even after we showed our confirmation, and, instead of apologizing for what appeared to be the restaurant's booking system error, he tried to lecture us about how certain reservation websites do not allow large-group bookings. Rather than taking responsibility or working professionally toward a solution, his attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely inappropriate. Fortunately, the lady working with him was kind, professional, and genuinely tried to explain the situation and find a way to accommodate us. She deserves recognition for her efforts. Our group was in town for an eight-day conference with more than 3,000 attendees. Because of this experience, this restaurant has unfortunately been added to the "not recommended" list for this annual event. When restaurants host business travelers, the way guests are treated matters just as much as the quality of the food. Unprofessional treatment of customers and business partners can damage relationships and cost businesses significant opportunities. To anyone considering this restaurant: the food is excellent, but if you're planning an important business dinner or any special occasion, be aware that the wrong interaction at the front desk could ruin your evening. Great food alone cannot make up for poor management and unprofessional customer service.

The restaurant is a decent size with a cozy and relaxing ambiance. We ordered some of the most popular dishes, and everything that came out was absolutely delicious. Overall the food was good. The sauces were all really good and enhanced the flavour of the shellfish. In my opinion, the salted egg yolk was a bit too creamy and felt better suited for something like a pasta. The curry was alright, but my favourite was the Singaporean chilli crab. It was a whole infusion of flavour and had a little kick to it as well! My only complaint is it is a bit on the pricey side (was about $70 per person), but that's expected with lobster and crab.

It feels simple, the ambience is causal, the service is quick, and most importantly the food is really deliciously seasoned. The price is reasonable for a mid-range restaurant. Typing this made my mouth water again. Gonna need to make another trip soon.

I came here during Korealicious to try traditional Korean soy-marinated crab and shrimp…read more The complimentary side dishes were great. My favorites were the sweet soy-braised tofu skin, japchae, and spicy cucumber salad. The hot barley tea also paired really well with the marinated seafood. Marinated Crab The platter comes with six half pieces of soy-marinated crab and six half pieces of spicy marinated crab. The soy-marinated crab tasted very traditional, with a strong sweet soy sauce flavor. Compared with another Michelin pop-up restaurant I tried before, this version was much richer and saltier. The blue crab meat had a soft, jelly-like texture from the curing process, which was impressive. However, the soy sauce became quite dominant after a few pieces, so I highly recommend pairing it with the beef tendon soup or barley tea to balance the flavors. The spicy crab, however, wasn't my favorite. Instead of the sweet, savory heat that I usually associate with Korean gochujang, it leaned more toward the direct heat of Korean chili flakes, similar to the spice level in tteokbokki. I felt the spiciness overwhelmed the natural sweetness of the crab rather than enhancing it. Marinated Shrimp I was worried that eight shrimp wouldn't be enough, but the plate was huge. They use giant tiger prawns, each about the size of my hand, so two or three are already quite filling. Because the prawns are so large, they are only lightly cured, so the meat stays firm and springy instead of becoming soft like the Cantonese-style marinated shrimp I'm more familiar with. The sweet soy marinade penetrates the meat very well, making every bite flavorful. However, after a few shrimp, the soy sauce becomes increasingly dominant and the flavor starts to feel one-dimensional. Personally, I prefer the layered flavors of Cantonese-style marinated seafood, where the freshness of the seafood is complemented by ginger, garlic, cooking wine, and fish sauce. Beef Tendon Soup This ended up being my favorite dish of the meal. The broth was rich with beef flavor and had a wonderful silky texture from the collagen released by the tendon. It paired perfectly with the marinated seafood. A sip of the soup cleansed the palate from the strong soy sauce, making the next bite of crab or shrimp taste fresh again. The tendon itself was tender and well-cooked. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the mustard soy dipping sauce served on the side. Overall, this meal felt more like experiencing two very different marinated seafood traditions. Korean-style marinated seafood emphasizes the deep savory flavor developed through soy sauce curing, while Cantonese-style marinated seafood highlights the natural sweetness of the seafood with layers of ginger, garlic, cooking wine, and fresh aromatics. Even though I personally still prefer the Cantonese style, I enjoyed experiencing this traditional Korean approach.
