However, not great quality - I have order paneer and fajita vindaloo disk, not that great in taste and frankly, being part of indian cuisine they should know that cucumber as ingredient in vindaloo masala is disaster! In fact cucumber boiled along with masala for any spicy Indian dish is disaster for curry - If you feel likewise, not a great place. Else you can try this one. PS: Friend tried nonveg - had cucumber in masala there as well, bunch of other stuff as well, like cauliflower in chicken masala, LOL - So order as per your taste. I lived in Inman Square a few summers back and would always walk by Punjabi Dhabi with curiousness. Sometimes I could smell something delicious cooking, sometimes I just stared at the happy folk eating. I had the pleasure of enjoying a meal there a month ago, and man was it great! I went for a buffet lunch (which is every day, maybe?) and could not be more pleased. The inside of the place is super cute (and cozy). If you show up early enough you'll get a seat (so go early as there are not too many). The only downfall is the awkward Inman location, but I'd take the walk out there again. read more

While the name of the restaurant is slightly deceiving (they aren't churning out kebabs like an assembly line), the Kebab Factory always caught my attention as I passed by and I finally had an opportunity to give it a try. It's a fairly tiny place, so seats might be hard to come by, but a table for 2 was no problem at 7PM on a Friday. Unfortunately, that table was right next to the doorway for the waitstaff and I ended up being kicked, brushed against and even got hit in the head a few times by passers by. That said, the service was good. I can't say it was superb since we had an empty wine glass on the table for 10 minutes before needing to ask for another, but otherwise things were great. They even brought out a sampler of soup and a fried shrimp for us to taste, both of which were delicious. And at the end of the meal, you're presented with a hot towel to wipe off your hands and face. It's a small but class touch. Of course, what about the food? Well, it was fantastic. The kebab sampler is perfect for a couple to share alongside an appetizer and gives you a glimpse into what the kebabs here are all about. The vegetarian sampler was also very good despite the fact that everything on it was fried. And there's a plate of rice and other things which comes out with the kebabs that really brings the meal together. The Kebab Factory is definitely worth checking out, even when crowded. Went on a Sunday night at 6:45. NO other people in the place? Weird but okay. We should get great service! Not so much. Had to call the waiter over to take out order. Never saw him again. Saw the water boy three times that should tell you how long we were waiting for food. I finally got up and asked where our food was because it was 30 MINUTES!! I get it if you're busy but we were the ONLY people in the restaurant!! To make it worse after I complained NOBODY came to apologize or offer to make it right. Really? We walked out. NOW I know why the place was empty. Ended up at Kowloon and we couldn't of been happier with the service! BTW, to make it worse the place was freezing! My family left their jackets on. Another review update: The medley biryani is a great deal for upto 3 people really for $19. I was so impressed how this biryani dish was packed FULL of lamb pieces, chicken breast pieces, and also shrimp. They were extremely generous with the protein and also the biryani itself was decent. Its the type of biryani that contains cashews, mushrooms, and peas. The rice is yellow colored and flavorful if you are into that style of biryani. If only it had a better name! Aside from the unfortunate sign outside the place and waiting an few more minutes than I would've liked for a waiter to take my order, my trip to the Kebab Factory was perfect. The food was fantastic. I sampled spiced eggplant chips (probably one of the most innovative and delicious things I've had recently), vegetable samosas (above average) and garlic naan (as good as I've ever had) before the main course. As the name suggests, the place excels in Kebab-craft. I opted for chicken kebabs rubbed in cream cheese and crushed pepper, and I got exactly what was promised. They were served on a skewer resting inside a brass pot, which certainly made for a nice presentation. The place is smaller than it looks from the outside, with probably only ten tables. The lighting is dim and the decor is pleasant, making it a solid date choice. As noted above, the service wasn't earning any points at the beginning, but my water glass was always full and the food arrived quickly. It is rare that I walk out of a restaurant and know immediately that I want to go back within the next week. The Kebab Factory is in that group. read more

So I ordered from this place by mistake online, was trying to order from Kebob Corner which is much closer to me. I went to pick up the order from Kebob Corner only to realize what happened. My pick up order was place 8:01 pm. So I call them at 8:20 and asked them to change my order to delivery. The food didn't arrive until 9:45. If you want to try this place, I recommend just going to pick it up. I ordered the chicken vindaloo, flavor was good but chicken was dry. The cheese naan was cold and soggy. I live in walking distance from the Kebab Factory so I decided to give it a go. It's a relatively small but nice restaurant, but I wasn't happy with the service. I went for their buffet and I was surprised to find their dishes lacking in the typical ping of flavor that usual Indian dishes should have. YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM!!!!!!!! Seriously yum. We had two kebabs: chicken tikka & chile chicken. The tikka was mildly spicy and bright red, a little bit dry. The chile was VERY moist with delicious flavoring. The goat biryani was very good. The meat was a bit tougher than I like, but the flavoring was delicious. I generally hate biryani outside of the house as my mother in law makes it so well at home, but this was yummy. It had peas which I'm not accustomed to but enjoyed. We actually started with the vegetarian platter for an appetizer which was my favorite!! Samosas, paneer tikki and an aloo something. With dips. So good!! The samosas were very plain and simple, and that's for the better. We loved it so much that we ordered another set of two (no shame). The Paneer and Vegetables Korma dish was simply delicious and the selection of curries is refreshing. I have also had the Goan Fish Curry and hope to try many more dishes in the new year. Make sure to try the Mango Lassi beverage as well! It is a great pick-me-up after a long week, and it tastes like a nice yogurt-y soft drink. The ambience is very calm. From the cultural music playing in the background to the paintings hung on the walls, you truly experience an authentic Indian meal. My wife and I have been eating at Kebab Factory for well over two years, mostly as delivery. The food was always quite good. Superb, in fact. So why the one star? DIRTY, BLOODY BAND-AID IN OUR RICE! Yes, you read that correctly. At the bottom of the rice container, stuck to the side was an adhesive of some sort. Our first thoughts were that it was simply tape used to seal up a crack in the tupperware. No such luck. This was a disgusting bloody band-aid some chef left for us, like some twisted cracker jacks prize. Sadly, we had already had several helpings of this tainted rice before we noticed anything amiss. We seriously almost puked! We almost took our food back to the restaurant to complain, but we were so disgusted we decided to write this review instead. I have no confidence in the way food is prepared at Kebab Factory. Accidents happen, sure, but why is someone digging their bare hands in our rice when they have a fresh band-aid on. Sick! I've eaten here a handful of times and loved the buffet but the service at other times has been awful. The last time I stated a food allergy while ordering and was told they could easily accommodate- which they had on every previous occasion. When our food arrived, it was immediately apparent that my allergy hadn't been accommodated and I asked the waiter to return the dish. He actually argued with me and told me that I would have to pay for a new dish and it would take half an hour. When I insisted that I would only pay for one meal since it wasn't my fault they'd messed up, the waiter walked off in a huff and just abandoned serving our table. My three friends and I sat there in shock expecting some sort of resolution but when none came we all decided to boycott the place. While that is just one experience, I really felt insulted and vulnerable. I could have gotten really sick thanks to that waiter's carelessness and he was a jerk to boot. He was the only employee in the dining room the whole time (no busser, no manager), so he could have been overworked & cranky. But still! read more

Over the years I have been to Kebab factory many many many times and the only reason I return each time is the absolutely delicious food. The food is definitely worth 5 stars. The service is and always has been sub-par, arrogant and down right belligerent. And yet after promising myself never to go back again I am still drawn to the yummy kebabs. Had there been another kebab place that matched up to the selection and taste as here, along with good service I'd drop my affection for this food in a second. I was here once to celebrate friend's birthday and mentioned that to the host so they could make it special. It was a crowded Friday evening and we were seated but not attended to for good 20 minutes. Finally an overworked server showed up without a smile and poured water and left!! Didn't ask for drinks or appetizers just left!! After trying to flag him down a few more times in the next 15 minutes he showed up again with a rather irritated look (as to why are we expecting service). We had so much time in between that we were ready with the drinks, appetizers and the main course orders. To go with the kebabs we each placed an order of chapattis only to realize that one order came with two. So we then asked him to bring only two orders and we would share them. Well! To our surprise he showed up after what seemed like an eternity with drinks, appetizers and the main course all together. Now if anyone has ever been to the Kebab Factory knows that the tables there are TINY and how the heck are we supposed to fit all of this on our tiny little table for four?? So we request him to give us a few minutes between the appetizers and the main course and bring it back. A few minutes, he did give but brought back cold food and there were 4 orders of chapattis. After we clarified with him the order was changed to two only. But instead of taking back the 2 extras and apologizing for the confusion he stood there arguing with us that we had indeed ordered 4 and will now have to eat that. To avoid a scene in an already loud and crowded place we just politely asked him to take them back as we didn't want them. The food was cold but still tasted good. It was now time for the check and guess what; he billed us for the 4 chapattis!!!!!! What respectful establishment would treat their customers this way?? Any place I have been to, and there has been a goof up in the order not only have they taken it off but also offered us a discount along with apologies for the inconvenience, but not at the Kebab Factory. When we asked our server about it he was confrontational and said it was not his problem we didn't eat what we ordered. Insulted as we were, we decided not to create a ruckus and just pay and leave never to come back. The instinct was to not leave any tip but we left a penny and a note for the management. Oh and there was no cake or desert for my friend in all this ...... so much for wanting a quiet birthday dinner!!! This place offers some of the most interesting, high quality Indian food in the greater Camberville area. I feel like I should start by addressing the name. Yes, "Kebab Factory" is an incredibly unfortunate name for any restaurant. It conjures images of generic chain food and menus chosen by focus group. The name alone almost deducts one whole star. I've been to the lunch buffet a number of times and dinner only once or twice. Sure, the buffet has the Indian buffet mainstays: chicken tikka masala, biryani, samosas. The buffet really stands out for the other offerings and how the overall lineup changes frequently. I have never seen the exact same combination of dishes more than once. True to the name, there is almost always a heaping platter of succulent chicken kebabs over sauteed onions and peppers. The chicken chili, an asian-ish combination of fried chicken pieces and hot chilies is a unique dish that does not disappoint. The main drawback with the Kebab Factory is that the lunchtime rush can make it tough to get a table. It is advisable to get there before noon on any given weekday. The service, especially with naan and water refills, also suffers a tad because of this. Overall, Kebab Factory is a solid Indian restaurant. It definitely beats out the assorted rabble in Central Square and is worth the hike down Kirkland St. from Harvard Square. read more

Some of the best Indian in Metro Boston. Chicken Dhaniwal Korma ($14.95) is a rich dish flavored intensely with corriander. The "Factory Specials" are all somewhat unusual and delicious. Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Massala are also dishes that involve tender chicken and distinct spices. Mostly a take out/delivery joint with parking hard to find, the reason the food is so good is that the majority of their business is delivery. On my and my girlfriend's last visit, we were the only people in the restaurant. However, there were two guys answering the phones and four chefs pumping out curry, biryani and dal for the revolving door of delivery drivers that kept entering and exiting. Because it's all delivery and there's such high volume, the food is always fresh and the ingredients even fresher. Real usage of expensive herbs and spices keep prices on the higher side but you're getting your money's worth. The delivery is excellent as well. No beer or alcohol. read more

Note.. the best way to handle delivery from a new place is to tell your friend you should both pick one thing and then share.. THAT way if you don't like what you order you can always grub on their dish guilt free. SAVED.. I chose the lamb seek kebabs and friend chose the kashmiri shrimp malai curry. The website said that the lamb was the "most celebrated melt in your mouth" deliciousness ever. Meh. It was okay. I'm not sure I would order it again (at least not for delivery). I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce it came with either but that might just be my attraction to sweeter Indian food. Friend didn't mind it. The malai curry however.. SOO good. After I was finished with my plate I was clamoring for some naan to dip in to the container (probably more acceptable than scooping sauce into ma mouth). Extra points to them for not skimping on the jumbo shrimp. Not sure I'd order if I were by myself (the malai curry is about $17!) but I'd definitely call round again. And the delivery did take a little longer than my tummy could handle but I dealt with it (Oreo appetizer.. what?). I am very interested in stopping in for their buffet some weekend. Exceptionally awful. I eat Indian cuisine fairly often, and this was by far the worst experience. I went for the lunch buffet. The food was warm at best and not spicy whatsoever. The lack of spice prompted me to ask for a hot sauce or ground chilies to mix in with the curry. It got weird-fast. The waiter pointed me towards the pickled "hot sauce", which had such a potent taste, that it would easily overpower the stunningly bland food. I couldn't believe he would suggest that, and found it even harder to believe that there were no chilies in the kitchen. It appeared as if the servers had no experience waiting on customers, and were difficult to flag down in a relatively small restaurant. Best Indian food I've had in ages around Camberville. Recommended to us by our upstairs neighbors (Indian), who said it's the only place they'll take their parents when visiting (from India; do you sense a theme?). On the whole, it was AWESOME. The food was so fresh and good and non-greasy. Gorgeous spinach soup as a complimentary amuse; best bhindi baji ever. Vindaloo wasn't really spicy at all (we asked for medium), though had good depth. Rogan josh, same. Kebab sampler was excellent except for a chicken drumstick that was literally raw in the middle, and the two bussers who stopped by to clear -- our waiter didn't really check in -- didn't speak enough English to understand. We had tons of food so didn't stress about it--but still. I would definitely go back, but might prefer takeout, to be honest. It's a little small and the service was friendly but, at best, lackadaisical. I just had to look up how to spell that. Huh. Anyway, highly recommended! Go for the lamb samosas if nothing else. I ordered Lamb Sali Boti (i think), which was excellent. All of the curries on the first page of the menu are highly recommended, as is the beef kebab (which someone else at the table ordered). The lamb mint kebab was actually lamb sausage, which was kind of weird-tasting. Service was mediocre. All of the food was served piping hot, but not at the same time. One member of our table was actually hit on the cheek when her food was being put down. No spillage, though! I saw that waiter bump into like 6 other people that night. Yes, the space is small. I will shortly be leaving my neighborhood, which I recently found out from a Realtor is referred to as "Kirkland Village". I always referred to it as "Dial--A-Pizza Square" but regardless, this intersection pretty much consists of the Wine and Cheese Cask (booze, cheese and foreign fancies) , Dial-A-Pizza, The Biscuit (coffee shop/bakery, formerly Toscanini's) and three restaurants; the amazing Spanish Dali, the swanky and upscale EVOO and a wonderful Indian restaurant, The Kebab Factory. I know that the greater Boston area is deluged with a bevy of Indian restaurants to choose from, so what makes KF so special? Well, first off, it's right up the street from me, which helps but second, this place is a real delight. The size of the place is tiny, but it makes up for lack of space with it's cozy decor. Lots of throw pillows and intimate tables for two. They have recently added a flat-screen TV which can add to the dining atmosphere when they play Bollywood movies but can be a distraction when they choose a Sox game (sorry sport's fans). The service is ALWAYS exceptional. There are no shortage of waiters and the minute you get through the door you are seated. Also, whenever I get take-out (which is often), a server always presents you with a little espresso cup filled with their soup of the day, and it is always amazing. I never thought I was a fan of cauliflower but that soup is my fave. Damn, the food is delicious! They are known for their kebabs, and if you are a fan of chicken, I would HIGHLY recommend the Kali Mirch Ke Tikkey, which is the juiciest, most mouth-watering meat I have ever had, dipped in cream cheese and pepper. If you like things spicy they are not shy about making it the temperature that you request. Another fave is their Tikka Masala and I recommend this very hot. They also have a great variety of curries and nans. If you like coconut, the Seafood Moilee is a great curry choice and the garlic and cheese nans are good enough to eat alone. I know the location is a bit out of the way, about a 15 minute walk up Kirkland, outside of Harvard Square but it is worth the effort! read more
