I love Indian food. Like seriously I'm a fanatic. If Indian food the sun then I am the moon. We vibe on that spiritual level. Jah feel¿ One taste of that chicken Tikka Masala had me in nirvana. So creamy with subtle hints of cinnamon, black pepper, and what I think was fennel. Tonguegasms galore. Service was on point too. Soup and pappadum as a complimentary amuse a bouche and hot towels to end the meal. Classy, homey, and delicious. They deliver and do lots of takeout too. Half the Indians I work with say Bombay Club is the best Indian food in the city. The other half say nothing is good and just stay home. Half the non-Indian friends I have say Diva is better - the other half have terrible taste in food, so I ignore them. For me, the Kebab Factory is pretty decent, for the price. the tika masala was a little oily, but had a great taste. the place is a bit dark, and not fun when dining solo, but with friends, it's a cool joint. In Chicago (where I live) The Kebab Factory would score a one or two on the Yelp Rating Scale. Chicago is the land of Indo-Pak plenty, and we are spoiled by its bounty. For Somerville/Cambridge, however, The Kebab Factory gets three stars, because comparable Indian joints down the street don't quite have the same 'atmosphere', although the food can be just as satisfying. Four of us went for a meal on a Saturday night and ordered a number of dishes, from Biryani (chicken) to saag murg to tandoori murg, naan and garlic naan, and daal. The tandoori chicken was dry. The naan's texture suffered from gluten underdevelopment and just didn't have the pleasant chewiness typical in a good naan. The saag was good, the daal was tasty - but neither rose above 'good'. The biryani was more greasy than any I've had before, and our party barely touched it. The way dishes are served - each with a side of rice, on a plate - it is very hard to share with others and is rather awkward. Make sure to specify that you are sharing and that you only want one plate of rice, or you'll be juggling dishes around the table all night long. There is some attempt by the kitchen to plate things elegantly, but in some cases the plates just look silly, like the amuse they served us before the start of the meal. I did, however, like the way the tandoori was served - still skewered, in a sort of modified vase/pitcher. Now takeout...that's something I'd probably enjoy more. read more

I actually went to Kebab Factory because of the reviews on Yelp. I was UNDERWHELMED. Because my mind works better by compartmentalizing, I will make for you a short list of reasons why this place was a nonevent and the list looks a little something like this: 1. Buffet food was good, but not mind blowing. I couldn't point to any single dish that really made me go in my pants (not a urine reference) 2. Their furniture layout is EXTREMELY inefficient. The place is tiny and the round tables take away from the maneuverability. Also the plates are put in a place that make it impossible to not be in someones way if you want to get food. The dining experience is very uncomfortable because of how small the place is. Every time I got up, I was tight rope walking to avoid hitting someone on the head with my elbows. 3. When I went there were, I counted, 7 babies/children. The ambiance was more like Chuck E. Cheese than an Indian Restaurant. Just want I needed to see, a 3 year old child's underwear 3 feet away from me as she did a handstand on her chair. 4. I found it funny/insulting the way our party finished our second plate, and as we were eating our dessert our waiter asked us "do you want any na'an?" And i promptly replied "When I wanted some, I was looking for a waiter, but there was na'an to be found. I've only been for the buffet at lunch. I find this to be a good value but I would not go out of my way for this one. One thing I really dislike is the claustrophobic seating. The tables are crammed together making conversation a chore. Servers can be aloof, or inattentive, part of that is that it is usually busy at lunch. Once you say you'd like the buffet they tend to forget you. This last visit I was able to get my Salty Lassi only after many, "excuse me's" and much hand waving. Hey it's a buffet, what else is my tip for but some service. * Claustrophobic seating. * Good to average buffet fare. * Spicy pickles salty and good, Onion chutney lacking flavor, weak. * Vegetarian not as good as meat dishes. * Parking is problematic. read more

Arguably the best Indian in the Boston area. Yes, over even Tamarind Bay. Well it's at least arguable... Every single thing I've ordered at Kebab Factory is outstanding. The sheermal bread is amazing. The biryanis are among the best I've had. The kebabs are spiced and roasted to perfection. The vindaloo and korma are fantastic. You get the picture. Kebab Factory is not by any stretch of the imagination "your basic Indian food." The menu is unusually inventive, and even the traditional dishes show great distinction. I like that they have so many healthy items on the menu. I'm thinking of the large selection of tandoori fish and chicken entrees. Best malai kofta I've ever had. Excellent (for an Indian restaurant) wine-by-the-glass and beer list (bottles of Duvel at $4.50, Bonny Doon riesling and Cline zinfandel at $5.50 per glass). The lunch buffet is excellent. And they deliver, free within a limited area, at their whim. Highly recommended. read more

Lunch time buffet was awesome, although not a spicy as we typically like (burn me! I'm into that!). There was one amazing broccoli dish, and it almost tasted like broccoli cheddar soup, only prepared in a kadhai, not a Campbells soup can. The naan was light and fluffy, and coated with just the right amount of butter. We sat in the back of the restaurant by the kitchen, where there is this nice plexi window thing separating hungry people from the chefs. I spent most of my time peeking thru the window to see what tricks I could learn. I'm sure they were not amused by me staring into the kitchen, and probably thought I was some freak health inspector. If I was, I would have given them an "A" rating anyways. The kheer pudding at the end was awesome, and even sweeter was the self-serve chai tea. Who does that? We came here because, my girlfriend wanted Indian food and I thought this place sounded good. We have had the buffet three times. Each time It has been good, though varies depending on the day. The buffet is inexpensive ( $8 per person), has lots of options, and is very good. The staff is responsive and friendly. I enjoy coming here, because I know that there will be food that want to eat and lots of things to try. Also if your not into holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, this is a great option. They do not play holiday music and also don't display any Christmas decorations, so if you don't celebrate the holidays or need a break from them this is a great choice. We ate here on Thanksgiving and Christmas and had a delicious, relaxing meal both times. This place is quickly becoming an our lunch spot. read more

Apparently trying to go to Dali on a Saturday night with a group of 12 people without reservations or any prior sign up is a really crappy idea. PS, they don't do reservations on Saturday nights. It's a good thing this place was right across the street and not as packed. Luckily the food is also good... The naan. Naaaaaaaaaaaaan. I love it. I think I love every combination of curry spices and flat breads. You know what would rock? Curry spiced naan. Mmmmm. Their naan is no curry spiced, but it IS pretty good. Everyone in our party liked their food. I didn't have a kebab, but some of my friends did. They (the kebabs, not my friends) come skewered on large metal spikes, which rest inside a metal jug. It's really interesting presentation. Probably shouldn't let your young, fidgety kids order that, though, unless you WANT them to poke their eyes out. It's pretty tempting to take them out and play swords, too, especially if you're secretly five years old like some of my friends. I also must say that the service is pretty exceptional. They were super accommodating to our group, despite the ridiculous size and relative lack of space. One thing though: the place is also a lot classier than the name implies. Ok, I'm not sure if they have rotating chefs, or what the deal is. For years, this was our favorite place. Especially their chicken tikka masala and saag paneer. And generally, that's mostly still true - but, sometimes, it's off - and when it's off, it's REALLY OFF. Maybe it's just Wednesdays? Anyway, June 10, 2009 was really mediocre, for the first time ever. If this was your favorite place before, please beware. I was down with vomiting and stomach pain for 2 days after eating at Kebab Factory and wanted to alert people visiting this restaurant!!! This place didn't do it for me. I went to the Sunday buffet around 1:00 it was busy but only had to wait about 15 minutes. The service was great, water glasses were constantly refilled and we were given a couple complimentary items including Nann and a savory pastry like appetizer. The buffet was about 13.50 per person and they automatically include gratuity in your check no matter how small your party which doesn't bother me but may bother some but the service was great so I would have tipped them well anyway. The buffet had a good selection of sauces, vegetarian dishes, chicken and seafood dishes that were all pretty well labeled. My issue was the food just wasn't that good. It was a bit greasy for my tastes and didn't taste particularly authentic. It lacked the spice I've come to associate with Indian Cuisine. Unfortunately this is probably the worst Indian food I've had but that being said it wasn't really bad just different. My friend really liked it but agreed it was a bit "Americanized" and they were heavy handed on the cream in many of the dishes. It's very possible the food is better when ordered off the menu as opposed to a buffet which can often be hit or miss. The food quality, ambiance and service at this place belong to a restaurant with average entrée prices $10 higher. I go here once every few weeks, but only for dinner, as I don't work near enough to do lunch. Three tips: 1. If you like really, really, really hot, there is a level of spicy that isn't on the menu. I don't know if there's a name for it, but they can turn it up well beyond "hot," and, as the manager described it, "it's what you'd get in India if you asked for hot." And it's hot, so be warned. However, they use fresh chopped chilis, which give it an enjoyable flavor to accompany the heat. A lot of Indian restaurants will simply add another teaspoon of cayenne, which simply makes it unpleasant. 2. The best dishes on the menu, in the opinions of me and friends of mine who dine here, are the Chicken Dhaniwal Korma and the Murgh Aftaabi. For bread, skip the Naan and try the Malabari Parantha. The Naan is great, but this is better. 3. If you go to pickup an order, they'll give you a cup of soup. The soup is lovely, but it's HOT, so if you can't stay to let it cool off, I recommend you politely decline. read more

Three of us went for the Sunday buffet. Parking is ample since they have a designated lot. The place is smaller (and more congested) than average. We were seated immediately since a table for three had just cleared up. I liked their dahi-vada. The list stops here. Most other food items were below average for the price being charged (~$13), both in variety and taste. I had read a few yelp reviews saying that this place is a veggie-lovers haven, but did not find any truth in that statement. I am on a very slow quest to try all the Indian lunch buffets in Cambridge/Somerville. And damn you, Kebab Factory, for foiling my plan. Because now that I have gone, I don't see a point in going anywhere else. Competitively priced at $7.95, this has got to be the best deal in town (Tamarind Bay is $9.95). The food was fresh, complex, and delicious. When was the last time you saw a plate full of actually recognizable vegetables at an Indian buffet (as opposed to an occasional potato floating in a tub of sauce)? Really, so much Indian food is just glop, but Kebab Factory actually makes sophisticated food. They had nearly twice the number of offerings of most places -- maybe four meat dishes, and four vegetable dishes. Plus the usual rice, naan, wimpy salad, great pakoras, and some chaat as well. I also really appreciated their hot masala tea that was delicious. The two desert offerings lived up to the standards set by the entrees. The only downside was that I ate so much that I was wiped out afterwards. What is the downside of Kebab Factory? Aside from it's horrible name and cheesy exterior graphics? (Note to restaurateurs: people don't want to eat at factories!) Maybe that it's not on my beaten path? Nah, actually that is probably a good thing as otherwise I would never be able to fit into my pants again. EDIT: Wrong! What is the downside of Kebab Factory? After living in Boston for nearly a decade, we finally made it to Kebab Factory about a year ago. It's now become our favorite Indian restaurant in the Boston area, and possibly anywhere. The decor is modern and bright, thanks to some large windows that get good sunlight. There can be a bit of a weight on weekends during buffet hours, but it's worth it. This has to be the most expansive Indian buffet I've ever seen, so there's bound to be something for everyone. The service is attentive and pleasant. This has become our favorite place to get Indian food in Boston. My husband, brother, and I went to The Kebab Factory for dinner last night and were very happy with our experience. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was great. Here's what we got: *Mango Lassi - We each ordered one of these and had to pace ourselves so we wouldn't drink it all before our food came...yum! *Vegetable Pakora - A good way to start the meal. The pakoras were fried just right and the filling was tasty and not at all dry like some other pakoras I've had in the past. *Kebab Sampler - HIGHLY recommended. All the meats we got were seasoned perfectly and super tender. We will most definitely be ordering this again. *Chicken Dhaniwal Korma - This dish was recommended to us by our server and we were all really happy with it. It was creamy and had a nice nutty flavor. *Saag Paneer - A very good saag but the other dishes definitely outshone this dish. A big part of what made our Kebab Factory experience so pleasant was the service. Our waitress was friendly and helpful with recommendations and we liked that they gave us warm towels to wipe our hands at the end of our meal. When they packed up our leftovers, they also gave us more rice so we would have something to the remainder of our curry with...so nice! I hear they have a good brunch but I don't know if they serve the kebabs. Their curries are good enough that it probably still would be worth it but I would recommend coming out some other time just to get the kebabs...I mean come on, they aren't called the kebab factory for nothing. read more

Right down the street from our apt., Kebab Factory was stop number 3 on the tour of Indian buffets that my roommate and I decide to embark upon a few weeks ago. final verdict: it's really good We went there on a weekday in early July and it was not very crowded. Of course, two other tables of patrons at Kebab Factory means the place is almost half full. Still only barely enough people to keep the buffet fresh with refills. They had a mix of standard buffet choices (chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, veggie korma) and 3 or 4 dishes I rarely see or had never even heard of (at least under that name). All were quite delicious. Instead of the standard tandoori chicken, they had boneless fillets of chicken breast and thigh in a slightly different style (forgot name) which was very nice. In addition to the standard salad, sauce/chutney choices and a couple desserts, Kebab Factory is the only buffet (so far) to have a soup option (a delicious cream of mushroom that day) and hot chai tea. Very nice additions. Naan was delivered to the table, which I prefer to having it in the actual buffet. We only got a quarter of a piece each, but they were happy enough to refill it when asked. The quality of the lunch buffet food here is great. It's the best in the area, beating out Haveli by a fraction. The decor is blah. They have a few things on the wall, nothing especially Indian and the music wasn't traditional either. My roommate observed that Kebab Factory is like, "a trendy little restaurant that happens to serve Indian food." Kebab factory is also insanely small. No wonder it is always crowded when I walk past at dinnertime. The lunch buffet was $7.95 plus tax, $8.35 total per person. It's a toss-up between here and Haveli. Blech. Ok. I know this will sound snobbish. But understand I was trained as a cook at Spice Market in NYC under some of the best artisans of Southeast and South Asian cuisine working in the U.S. So it's very simple: after my one encounter with The Kebab Factory, it's clear to me they're not interested in authentic flavor at any price and prefer the watered-down americanized approach to these updated "traditional" South Indian dishes. The whole gimick about ordering your food mild, spicy, very spicy, etc. makes me roll my eyes. What a cop-out! Just make the food with good ingredients, season it properly, and then no-one will care how spicy it is. It will just taste good. Most of the sauces taste like they're from a jar or a can; the fire-grilled items are underseasoned and over-dried with char; herbs and chilis don't taste fresh; braised and slo-cooked items taste like they're made in batches, frozen and then "microwaved to order." For a restaurant that is so well-liked, I expected more. Aside from the food, my experience was marred by service that was at its best when it was simply indifferent. The host brought us a messy "amuse bouche" and served to us what I swear to you were two of those frozen coconut shrimp you get at Shaw's in a box, barely warmed up and served with a dollop of yellow mustard and ketchup. WTF?! Our server couldn't keep track of our food order, and piled everything in front of me and ignored my date, as if it were my job to sort out the items and make sure she got fed. He even placed both our beers in front of me--for three rounds! I've never heard of this custom, and I hope I'm not being culturally insensitive by saying this was both offensive to me and my date as well as just plain bizarre. Maybe I got them on a bad night. But judging by the issues I had with the food and the fact that people seem to dig it anyway, it looks like this MacDonald's formula is working for them. It didn't work for me, though. :( read more

I wanted to like the Kebab Factory, I really did. But I unfortunately had a mediocre experience here. The food was ok, but wasn't great. I had the tandoori chicken which had a cool presentation, but came with very little sauce. I ordered a mango lassi that they didn't bring with our dishes. Our entrees came out so staggered that it was pretty awkward, causing the old 'do I eat in front of my hungry friend or let my food get cold' internal debate. I waited and waited for our waiter to come back and check on us so I could remind him about my lassi, but it never happened. So I never got my lassi, which made me sad. Lately I'm a stickler for good friendly service, and I couldn't assess the friendliness of the service because I hardly saw our waiter. And when we asked for the bill, I mentioned that I didn't get my lassi and asked for the waiter to make sure it wasn't on the bill. Lo and behold, it was on the bill. So it took extra time to get that sorted out. We were so desperate to get out of there that we ended up taking turns running to the ATM next door so we could leave cash, instead of waiting for them to run our credit card. I live so close that I wanted to love it, I wanted to add it to my neighborhood list, but sadly I can't even say that I liked it. read more

If I want to eat Indian at a restaurant I head to Central or Inman. But, if I want Indian delivered, then I turn to Kebab Factory. I have yet to try a kebab here, but I can attest that the curries, samosas, raita, and breads all meet the "pretty darn good" mark. Their basmati rice is nicely flavored and they give monster portions of curries when you order for delivery. Important Note: Everything is underspiced for western palates - so if you like "Medium", you better say "Hot." I tried dining at the restaurant one day, because I was craving a somewhat nicer atmosphere than what Inman offers. This was kind of a mistake. I'm going for it...the elusive "as good as it gets" five stars! This restaurant is right near my house, and I'm going to kick myself all the time now for not trying it out sooner. Everything was absolutely incredible. I started off with roasted potato and garlic soup. It was so creamy and garlic-y, I could've ended my meal right there. Happily, I did not. For the main course, the S.O. got the Tandoori Salmon kebab. Realistically, restaurant salmon is pretty hit or miss. A lot of the time, you get something bland with cracked pepper and a lemon squeeze. This dish was in no way bland. The tandoori spices complemented the fish in a way I never expected. Every bite was a flavor burst of yummy! Halfway through, he noticed it came with some side sauces, but it would have been just as wonderful without them. I recently got burned by some bad saag paneer (colloquially, not literally), but it's my favorite Indian dish and I was definitely torn. I asked the waitress if I should get that or tikka masala, and she recommended I try something new: Chicken Dhaniwal Korma. I am a big fan of taking the advice of wait staff, so I went with it, and I am so beyond happy that I did. It was creamy, tangy, spicy..the chicken was moist and cooked to perfection. I'm ready to start taking it in intravenously. We also got some cheese naan, and it was among the best I've had. They used mozzarella cheese instead of the standard paneer, plus a liberal amount of minced garlic. So glad I brought leftovers home, because my mouth is watering just writing this review. I didn't love the pricing, but having checked Yelp! before going in, I was prepared for it and I'm not factoring that in to my rating. The service was great--very solicitous. The variety on the menu really floored me (in a good way); it's so nice to have options outside of the Americanized cuisine-box. Our portion sizes were ample, although SO wants me to add that he wishes his plate had had more salmon on it. Not because he didn't have enough, but because he wishes he had leftovers too. Best Indian buffet I've had in Boston. Considering what a small space it is, the buffet is actually quite large, and replete with dishes both traditional and exotic. A little pricey for weekend brunch compared to other Indian restaurants, but the superior quality of the meats, veggies, sauces, and spices more than makes up for it. I just wish I lived closer so that I could enjoy The Kebab Factory all the time. read more

This should probably be a 3.5 star review, I guess. But ok, so the other day I compiled a list of 34 Indian restaurants in the area that I have not tried but would like to (haha ambitious much?). This was the first one I crossed off my list. My friend and I ordered the following for take-out: garlic naan, veggie tikka masala (hot), veggie korma (medium), raita, and got a veggie platter for free. TIP: check the website's coupon section for coupons when ordering delivery! Um, I would not say that the tikka masala was actually spicy, which was a tiny bit irksome but I dealt with it. It's not greasy like a lot of other Indian restaurants in the area, which is super great. The food is averagely priced, nothing out of the norm. I definitely liked the food here, and so I will order from here again and will perhaps check out the lunch buffet if I am in the area. But realistically, I'll probably go to Punjabi Dhaba. read more

Firstly, I'll start off this review by saying: I don't really like Indian food. That said, I enjoyed my meal here quite a bit. I got the Kebab sampler thingy. Basically, a bunch of chicken and lamb of various sorts, on a stick. What's not to love about that? Everything was prepared well, and presentation was good. My gf did not enjoy her meal as much, but that was more about preferences than preparation. It was good too, I thought. Bread choices were excellent as well. If you have not tried Indian food, this is a good entry point. If you love Indian food, but your boyfriend is a hairy man-ape who only eats bland boiled grey Irish dishes, he'll find something to enjoy on this menu too. If you are said hairy man-ape and want to impress your date with your cross cultural dining habits, bring her here. She can get some exquisite complex Indian dish, and you can eat meat off a stick. Face it, there's a lot crappy Indian restaurants in Cambridge/Somerville. There's a lot of Indian restaurants and there's alot of crappy Indian restaurants. This one shines above -- really well done meals, great presentation, good menu selection, nice ambiance... tthey are not by any means traditional except for the mainstays from any Indian restaurants menu which they excelled at. Please don't eat here; it's tiny and I don't want to start having to wait in line for a table or, god forbid, make a reservation. The name and signage is a little tacky (see Fire and Ice as an examplel) and the coasters seem like slightly outdated giveaways by the big beer corporations. read more

OK - I have revised this to 2Stars, now originally it was 5 as the food was great when I ordered take-out...but then i dined in....and the service was an absolute travesty... I used to wait tables so I can have some sympathy for a busy waiter...but wow...the waitress that I had was so bad I can't explain...we wanted hot the food was mild(it was tasty so kudos to the chef), the waitress stopped by maybe every 30 minutes so dinner took an amazing 2 hours...i almost got up and left and wasn't sure she would have noticed as she didn't even fill up our waters once...and...although you can sample the soup when you pick up food, she told me I couldn't try the soup...go figure. The guys that were working there were on point, but this woman should have been working a drive thru at a McDonalds.... Wow...I tried this place after drving by it two many times to remember...unreal. It is amazing. I will apologize for my misspellings prior to this review. I had the tika masala chicken..great stuff. The person I ordered from asked how spicy I wanted it and it was perfect! The Tandori Chicken Kebab was great as well and the samosas and naan...well they were great as well. A great thing that happened which was a class thing was that I did pick up and when I got there for the brief second before my meal came out I was handed a complimentary sample of their vegetable curry soup.....wicked good. The Kebab Factory is my favorite Indian restaurant I've been to so far in Cambridge/Somerville. The prices are a little high for Indian, but I think the quality of the dishes more than makes up for this. Bonus points: it's easy to find metered parking nearby. Their lunch buffet has a wide variety of dishes - both those that you expect (what is a buffet without samosas and chicken tikka masala?) and those that were slightly less common. In particular, I enjoyed the range of veggie curries they offered during the buffet and the fresh naan they brought to our table whenever we ran out. For dinner, I have really enjoyed their kebabs. They helped us pick a couple of the most popular ones - we went for a Lamb Seekh kebab and a Chili Chicken Malai kebab - both were delicious and very filling. Also, they are dishes that I wouldn't order elsewhere, which is an additional draw to this place (I love curry and naan too much to fill up on any other dishes at most Indian restaurants!). read more

It has to be awarded one of the WORST restaurants in the greater Boston area. I had order Veg Tikka Masala, Veg Korma and Dal Tadka. All of these were poorly made and absolutely taste less. I, myself can cook better than this place. This is a really small and comfy place with a small selection of good to very good Indian, buffet style food. I'm just not sure whether the staff is super busy, doesn't speak English well, simply unfriendly or a combination of that. I came in alone and was treated almost like I was done a favor of getting a table. After I finished I was presented with the check almost immediately, with a "please leave" undertone. Other than that, I'll come back to find out if it was a bad day or whatever. The food is good, parking was easy and I liked the atmosphere. Definitely recommend. read more

I can't say for certain that this is the best Indian food I've ever had but I'm pretty sure it is. The main courses were astoundingly good. The amuse-bouche at the beginning was greatly appreciated. The mango lassi was solid. Also they were playing the World Cup. So I got to eat tasty food while watching Portugal and the USA fight each other to a draw. It doesn't get much better. read more

AMAZAZING! I can't say how many times I've driven by this place and said I'd have to go there and try it out - it was at the point where I would just tell myself outloud to go when I passed... Finally, my friend and I went - as we walked in, she pointed and clapped! "YELP!" She said... "You should totally yelp it... " So, here I am, months later... Yelping... We shared some samosas, and the sample kabob plate. I'm positive that they told us what we were about to eat, but we didn't really care, cause the texture, and or color of the meat was each different, but it was all FRIGGING AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. It's a little pricey, but the service was really good, they even let us fight over who would pay the check, and then let us digest for a little while - even though it's a TEENY TINY storefront. Thank god I finally tried this place. Now whenever I pass it while at work (which is almost every day) I turn to my boss/father and tell him he should go. Haven't been in here, but got delivery a couple times & the food was reasonably priced & fantastic! No complaints @ all & we plan to use them as go-to delivery in the future. Btw, their delivery person (Raju) is our main man @ Subway in Union - so tip him well, he's such a good guy/hard worker! Something like 18 hours a day btw the two... wow. read more

Hello, My name is Qingjian and I've just fallen in love with the Kebab Factory. I stuffed myself today at lunch at the buffet. But before I get started, does anyone else think that the tables they use with the grains are AWESOME? Anyway... I actually received a free meal via financial planning recruitment, so I actually don't know how much it costs. But, there are so many choices! And so many different ways to stuff yourself. First, the soup. Today was some kind of potato soup. It was GREAT. And along with soup, there is also masala tea. The other stuff consisted of excellent kebabs, veggie, chicken, and seafood dishes. I couldn't remember the names and I wasn't really reading them 'cause I just took a huge thing of food and pushed it on my plate. But, yes, definitely a great place for lunch. read more

The food was just ok and the service was horrible. Combine the two and I will not be a repeat customer. Let's start with the food. The samosas' were lacking in flavor and my chicken tiki was fine, but not as amazing as other places I've been. As for the service, except for continually refilling our water which was great, we saw little attention, especially when we needed it. My friend's mango lassa never arrived, although it was on the bill. A bill we had to flagged down a waiter to get after waiting forever to receive it. And if you've never been inside, this is a small place -- a wait like that was not necessary! Maybe the buffet is better, maybe it was an off day, but I'd rather head to India Palace in Union, which has always been consistently excellent. read more

Who can resist indian lunch buffet? Certainly not me! I was jonesing for a total indian carb fest, so I yelped "indian buffet" and this seemed like a reasonable place based on the reviews. The usual vegetarian standbys were available: malai kofta, gobi charchari, and saag paneer - all very tasty, fresh and warm. Potato garlic soup was also available, perfect for the chilly day. Service (if you call it that during buffet periods) was good - my water glass was constantly filled and my used plates whisked away. read more

Let me say this, I do not like Indian food. I've tried various places and it's too spicy for me due to my super tasteryness. I am writing this review based on friends reaction and just general restaurant observations. Note also, I've only been for their lunch buffet. Which is amazing for $6.95. It gets five stars for.... cleanliness,- even for a buffet, it was IMMACULATE. variety - there are almost a dozen meal options to choose from making it a great place for picky eaters and first times. I've been twice and both times the options were completely different. quality of ingredients/food - It is not greasy or too saucy. the meats are cooked to perfection. service - tons of pan and water! decor - it's adorable and a little fancy. drink options - wine, beer, soda, and juice options. I was even able to enjoy some of the less spicy items - I really like their spinach soup. My friends were incredibly impressed with it and ate plates upon plates of food. read more
