Honestly thats usually the only times I go visit the restaurant, I guy one and eat it there and take the other one to go. I usually get the stake with mash potatoes and asparagus. I usually get a sweet tea or water so I have not had any of their drinks. The service has always been good, plenty of parking and plenty of seating inside. The original restaurant we planned to go to was booked so we decided to come here. The atmosphere is perfect for a date or even just lounging having a few drinks at the large bar area. Although the service was slow, the staff was attentive and the food was very good - biggest complaint was the length of time it took to both order & receive our food but most importantly - how our steak was cooked - we ordered a 10 oz filet medium well to share - they were fantastic in splitting that into two plates, but the steak was way more medium rare then medium well (see photo). Their Blue cheese filet mignon is SO good. So. much. flavor! I love the texture of the blue cheese and toasted garlic on top. I get it with their mixed veggies. I have not been disappointed with this steak. Worth every penny. Their French onion soup is very good too! We sit in the bar for happy hour. Needed somewhere nearby for a quick and late meetup for dinner and stopped by this establishment. I've been here a handful of times and have never really been wowed the last few years but stopped in anyway. The reception area was not well kept yet there were 3 people working the reception desk and could have swept the front area. We were seated about 20 min after arriving without a reservation. Once seated our server greeted us a few minutes later and brought out waters to enjoy. We placed our entree order shortly after and the food arrived in a decent amount of time. We went with grilled salmon, one with no glaze and the other with honey glazed finish. Both were plated beautifully atop a bed of garlic herb mashed taters and broccolini on the side. The temperature of the salmon was perfect and very enjoyable to our palates. The garlic herb mashed were very flavorful and include the potato skin within. The only complaint with the dish was the broccolini as it seems it wasn't steamed at all. In fact it lacked seasoning and appeared to be rinsed and placed on the plate without being cooked at all. No bueno. Upon finishing, the server brought the check and never offered us dessert or any finishing beverages/libations. Tons of improvement can be made here with the service overall. read more

Stopped in before movie. Took a seat at the bar. Ordered some drinks and appetizers. That was the last interaction we had with bar staff until I had to ask for bill. I was met with " we were busy " and I responded that I watched you serve several people multiple times. Then he responded " do you want a manager " I responded its not that serious. He then said " I cant tell" at that point I requested to speak with manager. The management was very apologetic and did everything to make things better which I really appreciated. During this interaction with this employee it was very obvious he had no worries about any disciplinary action or repercussions for his disrespectful comments as he hid behind the bar. I have been to The Keg on several occasions and never had a problem. This experience left me leaving knowing I will never return nor recommend to any friends or family. Apparently this is one of your senior employees. Im sure this isn't the way you want your junior employees to conduct themselves. Do better. read more

I've been a long time customer at the Keg steakhouses. Now coming from Fort Worth we were disappointed to see the Irving location closed down. So we made the trek to Arlington instead. Now let me start by saying that the young man who served us was stellar . I wish we could remember his name but he was friendly, checked up in us frequently but not too much and even talkative. In top of that he surprised us with a slice of ice cream birthday cake. We were celebrating both of our birthdays. I always order the ribeye and my wife almost always orders the filet. Nothing changed this time. So we started with that amazing bread and the wedge salad and Caesar salad. Love their salads!! Absolute perfection. Unfortunates where the perfection stopped. The steaks and loaded potatoes came out looking amazing. Too bad my ribeye was over cooked. The medium was cooked to medium well. The taste was good but that extra cook just took all the fun out of eating a steak that had almost zero pink in it. Then my wife's filet was almost tasteless. Once again a little over cooked but after trying a couple bites I had to agree that it was missing flavor. Sorry Keg but y'all need to step it up. Not sure if we'll make the 25 mile trek again. Went to the keg for dinner with friends. My lobster dinner was excellent! Very sweet, and surprised that they gave me two tails! Our friends got the prime rib and really enjoyed it. The only issue was my husband's sirloin steak, which was way overcooked. The servers seem to do their job, but they didn't seem to have their heart in it. The lighting in the restaurant is very dim as to present a calm atmosphere. The music is a bit heavy for the dinning experience. Our waitress was very attentive until we got our food, then she didn't come back for a while and we were searching for her for the check. We came here due to my husband wanting his birthday dinner to include prime rib. It was pretty awful. My lobster bisque was very watery and had a layer of film on the top as it was brought out. Walking in the ambiance was cool. We sat in a back corner which was very intimate however it may have caused us not to get served for awhile. When we finally got our waitress I told her I thought they forgot about us and her response was sorry I was in the kitchen having a conversation. I'll start with the positives. My hubby prefer the Ny sirloin which was probably the best out of the three meals but nothing to write home about. It's a middle of the road steakhouse! Better than TX Roadhouse, not as good as a prime steak house like Del Frisco's. We would go back.

Let's start with some good stuff. The rib steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The salad, crispy cauliflower, grilled vegetables, and bread were good. Mashed potatoes had very little flavor but were OK. So food rated 4 stars. The server was nice but the service was not good. We ordered appetizers, but our salads were served first. What the heck! Half way through our salads we realized no bread had been brought to the table, so we asked if there was suppose to be bread. There was and they brought us some. Once we finished our salads, out came the appetizers. The table was set with only 1 fork per setup. No salad fork for such a high end restaurant, seemed strange but we adapted and used our same fork for our appetizers. Good thing we are all close friends since we had just our individual forks for shareable dishes. As the server was clearing the salad and appetizer plates, he suggested we take the forks off the plates before he removed them, I'm assuming to use again for the entree. Not very classy! Server had brought out steak knives for our entree but we had to ask to get new forks. During the meal we had to ask for tea and water refills. One in the group asked for an after dinner coffee. After 15 minutes he asked again and was finally able to get it. So, the food was good, but the service made the whole experience less than it should have been. We made the drive to Arlington because our Keg in Plano closed, and we had $100 in gift cards to use! We were welcomed as soon as we walked in! We sat at the bar and were also welcomed immediately! Taylor and Ashton, the other two bartenders, were also very friendly and took care of us as well!! We've been to The Keg a few times to celebrate various occasions. I enjoy the calm, laid back atmosphere that it has for a steakhouse. Our server was lovely and fast to get us drinks, refills, and educate us on the menu. He also picked up that we would need the side of potatoes sooner for our little one, which played a key part in keeping her happy throughout our meal. I really enjoyed the prime rib, which I hadn't had at The Keg before and I can see why they'd be known for it. This is a great place if you're looking for somewhere nicer than a large chain steakhouse but less expensive than a specialty steakhouse. A happy medium!
