My girlfriends and I were craving a good seafood boil, and I suggested Kickin Crab since I drive by it every Tuesday on my way to bowling league. It's always packed, so I figured it had to be worth trying, and it definitely was! The restaurant is located in a great shopping plaza with an Asian market, boba shops, bakeries, and other stores, making it a fun area to explore before or after your meal. We were seated immediately, which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant had a fun, energetic atmosphere with great music playing, making it the perfect spot for a girls' night. We started with a few appetizers: garlic noodles, Kickin Wings, and raw oysters. I didn't personally try the oysters, but my friend really enjoyed them. The Kickin Wings were my favorite appetizer! They were hot, crispy, and packed with flavor. The garlic noodles were just okay in my opinion, but the shrimp added to them was delicious. For our seafood boils, we ordered the Special Combo, which included 1/2 lb head-off shrimp, 1/2 lb snow crab, one potato, and sausage for $34.99, with the option to add more items for an additional charge. The seafood was fresh, well-seasoned, and flavorful. My only minor complaint was that the boil bag felt a little small, making it a bit difficult to really dig in and mix everything together the way I like. Overall, we had a great experience! The food was delicious, the service was friendly, the atmosphere was lively, and it was the perfect place to catch up with friends over seafood. Used to be one of my favorite places to eat until my most recent visit. I brought a friend here for the first time, and unfortunately the experience was really disappointing. We were seated by one of the male employees and waited about 15 minutes without anyone checking on us or taking our order. I genuinely thought maybe the process had changed and that we were supposed to order at the bar, so I went to the front to ask. Instead of getting help, we were met with rude attitudes and unfriendly looks from the staff. The entire time we were there, we felt ignored and received little to no customer service. It was honestly embarrassing because I had hyped this place up to my friend beforehand. I really used to enjoy coming here, which is why I gave it multiple chances, but the service during this visit completely changed my opinion. Customer service and attitude matter just as much as the food, and unfortunately this experience missed the mark. read more

I'm here now and the snow crabs are terrible no meat. I'm got through 1 of them and send the other cluster back because it was absolutely no meat in there. They sent me back the came cluster in the same bag and added some shrimp along with the egg that I had bitten off of. They also added a corn on the cob. Unfortunately, this will be my last visit at this location. I've ordered to go orders in the past multiple times. They have a location closer to me that I recently go to now, but this location was on the way back home. I decided to order my usual to go order which is the 1/2 shrimp 1/2 snow special. When I got home after a few bites I started to notice multiple pieces of long black hair. Not one but several pieces of hair! I was so disgusted. To be honest, everything was so good...I forgot to let the camera eat first before I dug into my meal. I had the fried oysters and the mixed Alfreda pasta dish. The food was pretty good. I ordered the 1/2 shrimp and 1/2 crab special with the Kickin Seasoning Medium heat. The medium was not very spicy or hot at all. Definitely milder than Louisiana Hot Sauce. I was craving fish, so I selected the fish' n fries. The meal includes 5 fried catfish tenders, cajun fries, and tartar sauce. For $13.50 the meal isn't worth getting in my opinion. The establishment was clean, and service was fast. I was picking up my order so I'm unsure what dine-in service they provide. I believe they're opening a location in Hulen soon. I will have to visit the Hulen location when I win the lottery. They're overpriced compared to other places with similar items. The pros: Fresh food, good service, clean restaurant. The cons: The boil was way too fishy, shrimp not cleaned, chicken strips were not good at all. Seafood boil is not a meal that you can just keep your hands clean, so that was awful. Our server only checked in on us once, ONCE, I had to get his attention multiple times, and we waited almost ten minutes after our meal to get the check. icing on cake out of the whole experience was seeing a roach crawling around out from the back kitchen area (we were seated towards the back exit of the restaurant). I ordered to go. Everyone was so friendly from the time I walked in. It was relatively inexpensive comparatively which was nice. I got the shrimp boil and some garlic noodles. Both were flavorful but l wish I would have turned the spice level up a little. I will do that next time. The place has a nice size bar and lots of tables. It was pretty busy when I went on Saturday afternoon and I'm sure even busier for dinner, but next time I think I'll dine in for the full experience. I'm honestly at the point where I'm just frustrated every time I come to this location. I've tried to give it chance after chance because I actually like Kickin Crab, but it's always something here and it's getting old. The wait times are ridiculous, even when it's not that busy. You end up sitting there forever just to finally get food that doesn't even meet expectations. The service is hit or miss, mostly miss, and it just feels unorganized every single time. And let's talk about the food the crab legs are consistently overcooked. Not once, not twice... consistently. At that point, it's not a mistake, it's a habit. When you're paying good money, the quality should at least be reliable, and it's just not. Same thing with the drinks something is always off. Either they take forever, don't taste right, or there's an issue with the order. It just feels like there's no attention to detail at all. I keep coming back hoping maybe it'll be different this time, but it never is. That's the most disappointing part. I want to support this location, but it's hard when the experience is this inconsistent. At this point, I'd honestly rather make the drive out to the Mansfield location just to avoid the frustration. That should say a lot. Y'all really need to step it up from service, to timing, to food quality because right now it's just not where it should be. read more

I also didn't get a picture of their Kickin crab wings but they were crispy and good as well they didn't come with ranch dressing so you have to ask if they have any.
