Went last night with a party of 6! We had a child with us that really enjoyed the show I had the steak hibachi and my son had filet and shrimp! One of our group had 2 kinds of sushi! The waitress took our drink and food order and that was pretty much it for her she did bring out soup and salad! The chef was amazing and did a great job and entertained us all the food was great! However you could not get a drink refill it was awful I asked twice for water and she just never came back except to deliver the check and I asked twice again for water Nope not today!! It was totally awful service from her! Now we tipped the chef separately and then had to add an 18% gratuity onto that because we had 6 people! I'm not against the gratuity if we had gotten a water refill! I'm guessing she already knows she gets a tip so why bother! I'm giving 4 stars for food and the chef! They could have gotten 5! I've been hitting these guys up for almost a year now, and what I have to say is just about what all other Yelpers and Google reviewers are stating. Good food, everything else needs improvement. First off, the food is excellent. Done right every time. Has been since I've been coming, and I've been served by most of the chefs at least once. (A lot of them are now recognizing me.) So rest assured the flavor is guaranteed. Now for the bad. Service has become appalling. Wait times and confusion by the front desk hostesses is too much. When you do get a seat and a server, they are quick to bounce immediately away from the table before you actually CAN order things. Response time is slow, and they have been forgetting food, drinks, checks, you name it a lot lately. I don't think this is from understaffing because there's usually plenty of servers. I've watched several parties straight up leave because the wait staff is taking too long. However... Chefs ARE sparse. Part of the problem with the wait times is lack of chefs. Please, hire more chefs at competitive wages. Now for the ugly. This place has taken a steep dive on quality in the interior the last couple of months. The tables no longer have the pretty lights under them turned on, half the lights are out around the restaurant, TVs are removed or just not on, THE AC IS CONSTANTLY OFF!!! Turn on the air conditioning please. The bathrooms are foul, hot, and there's a ventilation problem. The tables are not being cleaned between seatings, the "clean" dishes have food still on them. Yuck. This place has become discount buffet levels of nasty. Spend some money and fix up the restaurant. Lastly, the clientele here is hit and miss. Sometimes you get a great meal with people you never would have dined with before, sometimes you're at somebody's family reunion you didn't realize you'd be a part of. I've had really nice, polite people dining next to me, asking questions with normal conversations. I've had obnoxious, overly loud and hostile people at my table upsetting the rest of the restaurant and antagonizing the chefs and others. It's a mixed bag. But it's almost always noisy. They have music on and most of the time you'll never hear it. Collin, I know you read these posts. Your restaurant needs proper attention. Great experience here today. We made a reservation and got here about 15 min early. We were seated right away. Service was great, drinks stayed refilled and any extra plates were removed quickly to give us the most space. The hibachi "show" featured standard at ughhh d that you would see at a hibachi, all very entertaining. I think what sets this place from others is the standard noodles side in addition to the rice. Everything was cooked to perfection and we had more than enough to take home for dinner and then some. There is a charge for plate sharing, so I personally think taking the rest for another meal is a better option read more

Really excited that they offer gluten free hibachi! They have gluten free soy sauce and will prepare your food separate in the back or at the hibachi table if you're okay with possible cross contamination. The chefs have been very accommodating and always make sure to ask if things are okay. The service is hit and miss, it can be slow at times to get refills on drinks. I've eaten at Mr. Hibachi several times and always had great experiences, but this visit was by far the worst. The chef was very inexperienced--the grill stayed dirty, the rice was undercooked, and he even forgot my steak. On top of that, he kept staring at the receipt like something was magically going to appear to help him with everyone's order. It was clear he wasn't prepared, and the overall quality of the meal suffered because of it. We were looking for some good hibachi spots and found this place which looked really good. We made a reservation and per their policy they will not sit you until your full party is there. The inside is pretty spacious and they'll typically sit you next to other parties to fill in your hibachi spot like other places. My friend and I couldn't decide on which hitachi to get since it all sounded good so we decided to try out the emperor deluxe for two which came with a wide range of options. The server was very prompt and friendly but it felt like we were being a bit rushed after the hibachi was served. The food itself was good but not the greatest. I ordered my filet mignon medium and it was a bit charred and the lobster was over cooked. The shrimp and scallop were cooked fine. Overall the place was a good option for a quick hibachi spot but not the greatest quality food wise. Will probably choose to go elsewhere if I'm ever in the mood for hibachi again. read more

I love hibachi but this place did not meet my standards. Please keep in mind, I have moved around a lot in the past decade from state to state as well as Japan so this is definitely a biased review. It is definitely a large venue to go for a birthday or group dining. I ordered a dynamite roll and the hibachi scallops and 2 kids steaks. My scallops lacked flavor, didn't have any zest to it. My kids did not like the noodles that came with their meals and I agreed with them as they were bland. I was also shocked that you have to pay a $2 up charge for fried rice. The only good food from this place was the sushi. The service was great, the food wasn't the greatest. I'd come back, only for the sushi though. read more

The worst dining experience of my life - 0/10 wouldn't even send my worst enemy here. I've been to a lot of restaurants in my life, but never have I experienced a level of incompetence, rudeness, and outright hostility like I did at Mr. Hibachi. Where do I even begin? First, let's talk about the hostile reception. I walked in, sat down, and it was as if I had personally offended the server by merely existing at the table. There were already two parties seated and drinking, but it seemed my very presence was inconvenient to her. Fast forward to when I tried to order an appetizer. I politely asked, and her response? "I asked about your entree." Excuse me? I didn't even blink. I just ordered my food and tried to move on, but the attitude was already thick in the air. The situation got even more fun when a gentleman at the table, who must've thought the server was talking to him, politely said, "Pardon me?" Her response? "I wasn't talking to you." I've never seen someone act so offended by basic human decency. After our food was ordered, this server disappeared and never came back. We sat there for a while as other staff passed us by, but she couldn't even spare us the grace of a simple check-in. I finally had to ask a DIFFERENT SERVER to get her, just so I could get a box and my bill, at this point, I was begging to get the heck out of there. But oh, it gets better. When I asked for containers for the sauces (because, you know, that's a reasonable request) she ignored me and walked off. When she finally returned, she slammed the sauce containers down with the with this unnecessary force. I went to the host stand and asked to speak with a manager about her appalling behavior, the manager showed up, barely acknowledged my complaints, and his response? "You don't have to pay the bill." He didn't apologize. He didn't ask how he could make it right. He didn't care. It more so felt like he just wanted me gone. But wait there's more! When I went to sit back down, the server came back to the table and said, "You can pay your bill now." With the same attitude. I told her the manager said don't worry about the bill. Her reply? "That's the problem with YOU PEOPLE." (as I am a person of color). Yes she went there. She actually said that. And the manager did absolutely nothing about it. I've never been so humiliated and disgusted in my life. Mr. Hibachi is a den of disrespect, where racism and rudeness seem to be the special of the day. For the love of your sanity and dignity, avoid this restaurant at all costs. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here, and I'll be telling everyone I know to steer clear. You'll get better service at a drive-thru. read more

I came to to visit family and they know I love to eat, so they brought me to this hibachi restaurant that they've been raving about. I absolutely loved it. It has a really nice atmosphere, the staff was really nice, and they have plenty of hibachi tables to service a good amount of people at a time. I got the Chicken & Steak combination that also came with soup, salad, fried rice, noodles, and roasted vegetables. The show they gave while cooking was great and the food was even better. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into the presentations. This place has definitely made the must-go-to list whenever I come to the Dallas/Arlington area. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a work related lunch (party of 15). This is in a shopping center and traffic (esp on a Saturday afternoon) was a bit chaotic and parking was a bit limited even though it was a large lot. We had reservations so that was helpful. Once our entire party had arrived, we were all quickly seated. Service was great, our waiter handled things flawlessly and we had no complaints. Several people in our group had never experienced hibachi and I'm so glad they got to experience it here. A few opted for dinner sized and several lunch - both ample amounts of food and non the less, delicious. Cocktails were wonderful and peppermint mocha martini was a holiday favorite of our group. It was kinda loud due to the excitement from the hibachi performance, which is expected and not a problem for us. I got a free glass of wine from my check in which was nice. The reason for 2 stars is the entire time we had to swat at gnats. They were all over the wall when I looked.
