My husband and I have been going to this location for years but it's been awhile. We went for lunch yesterday and was glad that the waiter that had waited on us last time was there he is something else his name is huckleberry! I was so happy to see his face and we said do you remember us and he did and he put us in our favorite booth that we've always said in for 10 years. He had our drinks took her appetizer order it was there in the flash ask how we had been we asked him how him and his wife would be in we had a really quick chit chat before you knew it or advertisers were out we were eating he came back by to ask was everything okay and though my Coke was only half empty he got me another one. They want very busy so I was able to talk to him a little bit because he is so sweet and has the most amazing character. He loves his job you would think he owned it. We get such a kick out of him I think he is a huge asset for this location he's fast he remembers people's name he knows what you like he knows that menu backwards and forwards. I ended up with a calamari and okra with extra okra which was way too much but I was glad I took some home also I got my favorite thing in the world that you cannot find anywhere in the world but there and it is the jalapeno cream soup oh my goodness I've never eaten anything is delicious is that suit and the calamari was not off fried up into just Krispies like a lot of people do it was delicious meaty calamine the okra was over the top and they make their own ranch and I asked what it was because it didn't taste like any Ranch I'd ever had I thought it was something different but Huckleberry was quick to tell me if they make it fresh everyday and that it is their own little style that they put on it I wish I could buy it by the bottle. My husband had salmon patties and then he had a plate I don't know what it's unreal! I asked for the manager and the head manager was there I wanted him to know about huckleberry and how the seats better than ever he was so kind and he took his time to talk to us for quite a little while. Such a nice guy. If you want seafood this is the only place you should go honestly it's worth the drive no matter where you're at you will not be sorry and you'll be hooked no pun intended lol . I love Rockfish. It has perennially been a favorite of mine. There's so many good things here. I've noticed that Rockfish is really dependent on the Chef. And I've been coming to this place through two of the chefs. Both of which been amazing. So if you have tried to Rockfish before and you were like it was OK, you have to try the one in Arlington. It is excellent. Also the weight staff is very helpful. And the restaurant is always clean and very friendly. But it is the food that keeps pulling me back. Whether it's shrimp and grits or the calamari. They even have seasonal favorites that are only here for a short time. If you love fish, this is your place. read more

It has been a while since I have visited Rockfish, but I came by for their crawfish special. These days, 6.99lb is a good deal. Huck was my server and he was very friendly and took great care of me. Even brought some gloves. The crawfish were HUGE and the best I have had in a couple of seasons. They were cooked perfectly. Their nitro seasoning is flavorful but I still don't think it brings the heat. Not even a tingling of the lips. Even so, an excellent experience. read more

My mother and I came here for lunch as we both wanted seafood. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately and our server provided amazing customer service throughout the dining experience. We both ordered the Voodoo Platter which comes with crawfish, boiled shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage. We landed on the garlic butter and nitro seasoning for our flavoring. We had a mixed bag of medium to large crawfish with a few small but overall we were satisfied with the sizing. However, the flavor did lack even with the seasonings we picked. We came as a large group after work for a Happy Hour get together. The margaritas were on special ($5) but I don't think we cared very much for them. I hadn't been to this place in a while and honestly wasn't too impressed in the past. But I decided to stop in recently for some crawfish, and to my surprise, it was a major improvement! The crawfish were fresh and full of flavor, and the Diablo sauce was fire. Definitely a win in my book. I may start coming by more often now. We really like Rockfish. Earlier in the week, my wife said that she read where Rockfish was running a special on their Dungeness Crab and Shrimp for $26. Yesterday, I went to Arlington Rockfish Seafood website to pick a few things for pickup. We called the restaurant to see when we should order and the staff member suggested we order 30 minutes before our pick up time. We ended up ordering the Family Seafood boil, that included 3 clusters of snow crab, and three dozen large, peel and eat shrimp, with corn and potatoes. When we spoke with the staff member, we asked if the nitro sauce was real spicy, and we were told it wasn't, so we ordered all in with Nitro and Garlic Butter. The Seafood boil was fantastic! My wife and daughter loved every-bit of it, and the 7 shrimp that I had were delicious. I also ordered a Jalapeno cheese grits side, two orders of red beans and rice, and a side of sauteed spinach. Today the wifey ordered the fried catfish & shrimp basket. It was a good size serving and delicious! I had the poboy & clam chowder combo. Poboy is always good with their tasty fried shrimp. I also had to order a bowl of their shrimp gumbo! It was okay and a decent serving size but a little on the bland side. Also had a piece of okra that was a bit hard and should've been trimmed off. I was craving seafood and this restaurant is not far from home so we decided to give it a shot. Thankfully we were not disappointed as everything was great - including our server Morgan! We ordered a Bayou Rita ($7 - YUM!), a cup of Gumbo ($5.75 and ok), the blackened red snapper entree (see pic), Surf & Turf (see pic), a side salad ($3), diet Coke ($3.15), and the Fried Bread Pudding ($7 and OMG - YUM!) for a total of $73.65 before tip. Decent casual place on Cooper. Chalkboard/markerboard specials hung around the restaurant. Started with a drink and apps. THE FOOD: Ordered Jalapeno Hush Puppies and Traditional Mussels. The hush puppies were pretty good. Hardly any jalapeno flavor, and the remoulade was too sweet and more like a ketchup/tarter sauce mix. Just ok. Traditional Mussels in a garlic butter, white wine sauce with tomatoes and artichoke. The mussels were good. The bowl of soup/sauce was ok. My friend loved the sauce enough to use the mussel shell as a spoon to drink it, lol! For my entree, I had Mahi Mahi done Tropical Style which is lightly blackened, with two grilled shrimp and Mango salsa on white rice. It was a very good dish, plenty of flavor, fish done very nicely. This came with 2 sides, which I got a loaded potato and roasted Brussel sprouts. The loaded potato I barely recognized as a potato. It's precut and "loaded" with bacon, Sour cream and green onions. The bacon was tasteless, barely any sour cream and I would say garnished with some onion. Hardly what I would call "loaded", including the potato side. The "roasted Brussel sprouts " were bad. Including NOT being roasted. I would say boiled. When they are roasted you get black char on some leaves and the roast flavor . These were not those. One Brussel ( I left) was a little black (rotted) inside (see photo) My friend had a shrimp po-boy which he said was good, but I noticed (being from New Orleans) the bread is wrong. It was on a soft Italian style roll. A po-boy should be crusty bread on the outside, with soft bread inside. Anyway, this is a decent place with ok food, nothing great. But it's a chain. read more

So this evening I brought my kids for dinner here. I would like to say my server was amazing, service very good and nice environment. The ambiance is a family environment. Today my challenge was that I ordered Salmon cakes from the menu with an image. What they brought me was 1/3 the size of the image! The image displayed three large salmon Pattie's on a white square plate. When mine came out it came on the same white plate and was literally 1/3 the size of the image. I declined the food as it was false advertising. I shared my position with the manager so he would know this occurred and hopefully reduce the number of patrons that have this challenge. Overall this is a great place, my kids enjoyed their food and we ended on a positive note. I did not eat but hey it's after 9pm and really to late for an old dad to be eating. read more

I'm a huge fan of Rockfish! They have a really great gluten free menu and I enjoy so many of their dishes. Try the mussels Josephine!! They're always fresh and the broth is really delicious. And everybody loves the Bang Bang shrimp. So much flavors. If you're a seafood lover you must come here. I like to order some piece of fish, blackened, with sides of creamed corn (it's so delicious and buttery) and red beans and rice! The shrimp and grits is also a great dish. It's been yrs since I dined at rockfish. I went during lunch, I experienced slow service for a weekday. Waiter was sweet, but took awhile to bring drinks. There was a younger woman who was very helpful. She was helping my waiter keep up with things. My friend thought the southwest seafood enchiladas and flash-fried calamari we're ok. We both felt the rice needed some salt and zest to it. My rating is a reflection of my meal and experience with service. My rockfish sampler was amazing, this is the starter that won me over. Deep fried bread pudding was hot and delicious. I loved that the bread pudding was sweet, crispy, and soft at the sametime. The Alaska pollock Santa Fe tacos were nothing special. Nevertheless, the dish was seasoned and cooked very well. I would definitely return to try all three again. I feel service was decent given they are short on staff.
