A very busy restaurant on a Saturday night, even with a reservation expect a wait. Once you get a seat, everything is a good experience. Service is very good and always met with a smile =). Food was good and amount was generous. Escargot - This was an interesting take on escargot. You get the usual, snail in butter, but you also have it topped with mushrooms and some seasoning that had turned the butter into a redish hue. It was not my favourite escargot especially since I was expecting a bit more chewiness from the escargot. The complimentary bread was useful in soaking up all the sauce. Would not get again. Blackened chicken - I did not expect chicken breast, but I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was super juicy on the inside and the skin ontop was intact and crispy. The glaze/sauce that came with the chicken was fabulous. If you can't have steak, I would highly recommend trying the chicken. A bit busy and hard to get seats, but you can see why. Good food, good service, would recommend.

    The ambiance

I recently visited with my family and we enjoyed it alot our waider shaana was very kind and helpful with our orders. My steak was amazing and so was my mashed potatos. The ambiance was also nice it was good temp and the decoration was nice.

It was surprisingly not too busy on a weekend, so we came here for dinner. I got the steak and shrimp and the steak was good. However, the shrimp was a bit on the salty side. But nevertheless the service was very friendly and fast!

Our team went for our xmas lunch this year (our company should get a discount considering that this location is a frequent go to). What is a highlight is that the orders can be made prior, so the food can be brought to the tableside short after arrival. There were about 15 of us, and the area which we were seated was private and relatively noise free. The service was attentive and good, with water being refreshed and the little breads served nice and warm for sharing. The website may be a tad misleading, as there is a lunch menu on the website with offers as Fish and Chips which are not offered at the location. When we called to make thebresrrvation, that is when we found out. So there are no lunch specials in December, which kind of threw us off guard. I had the veggie burger and fries, which actually was quite good. Others had the usual offerings, which looks cooked to order, such as the sirloin and other steaks. Overall, good service, good food and no rush to turnover the tables. One the the best restos in Aurora. -Zuk

Deliciousness aka The Prime Rib with mashed potatoes

This is by far the best The Keg location I've ever been to. It's to the point where I live in Richmond Hill and I still convince my family to drive up to Aurora because of the impeccable service I always receive at this location. We came here to celebrate the birthdays of two of my family members - which we told to the server, Deen, when he inquired about if we had chosen to dine at this location for any special occasion. Deen was an excellent server on all accounts! He was polite, friendly, helpful, and very accommodating to the numerous requests my family members kept asking of him. I think he deserves praise as it was pretty busy for a Sunday night all around. [Prime Rib] $39 - I ordered the 14 oz one with mashed potatoes! There was a slight hiccup that I did notice, but it's through no fault of our waiter as they typically have other people serve the food. Among my family members, 4 of us ordered the 14 oz prime rib, but when they arrived, they were all of varying sizes. Mine looked like it was barely 12 oz where as my mom and my grandma shared one, and theirs looked to be about 16 - 18 oz.... I know it's quality over quantity, which was definitely delivered as the prime rib was extremely tender and flavorful. When you can actually select a quantity though, like how many ounces you want, I do feel like they should try their best to keep it consistent. To finish off the meal, Deen distracted my two family members that were celebrating a birthday so that he could have his coworkers bring us two Billy Miner Pies! The Billy Miner Pie is the ABSOLUTE BEST DESSERT on the menu so I highly recommend it :D 100% would come back to this location!

Upon entering, you'll notice it's not the biggest restaurant but they use their space efficiently to maximize tables. Their drinks were a good pour, came nice and stiff. Cesar salad was salad and homemade dressing. Dressing was fresh with a hint of mustard. I enjoyed that slight variation. Didn't come with Parmesan cheese or croutons - not sure I'm in for or against that as of yet. Pastas were good. Had a spaghetti carbonara and a farfalle carbone which had smaller sized tiger shrimp. A little pricy for what it was but still really amazing food.

However, I…read morecan't tell you how unwelcome I felt the moment my family (me and my two kids) stepped foot in this restaurant. On a Wednesday evening just past 8:00pm, we arrived at the doors of the restaurant and was greeted by I presume the owner of the business who mumbled something along the lines of them getting ready to close shop. And if we are dining in we should make it a quick one. This is despite the fact, that they were scheduled to close at 9:30, both according to their sign and Google. Anyways, we were seated by the owner and eventually served by the server. To be objective the server was courteous and generally competent, however, he did fail to top up our waters throughout the duration of the meal. Food wise it was above average. The Caesar salad was quite different from most restaurants where there's no croutons, no bacon and no shaved cheese. But I thought it was enjoyable and I like the fact that the salad had traces of anchovy taste. The Margherita pizza was alright. The tomato sauce was refreshing and the cheese tasted right. The flour had a a pretty good floury taste, but the body of the pizza could be a bit more well done. My favourite part of the meal was the Bucatini All'Amatriciana pasta. It's an interesting pasta texture that I've never experience before; clearly homemade. The guanciale gave the pasta a nice umami taste. However, the above average food was not enough to overcome the unwelcoming feeling that hung over us. One thing I forgot to mention is before the meal, I had a couple pieces of garbages from my kids that I wanted to dispose of. The washroom had no garbage bin and on the way out they had a box that resembled garbage bins in a fast food restaurant. I mistakened it for a garbage bin and after I disposed of the garbage, I was told by the same owner that it was not a garbage can. Although I wouldn't say he was totally rude, the statement was blunt and the facial expression and body language pretty much gave it away. One thing that was positive about the experience was at least their transparency toward their non-participation in the tax break government initiative. They had a sign posted right on their main entrance. Mi Casa, Sous casa... my AXX... no wait that's Spanish. Whatever... you know how I feel about Casa Carbone.

Everything from the food to the service exceeded our expectations. We started with the oysters, crudo, charred avocado, charbroiled Moroccan octopus, hot pull-and-tear bread, and the deep-fried Brussels sprouts. Every dish was packed with incredible flavour, beautifully presented, and perfect for sharing. For our entrées, we had the Branzino and the Dukkah Roasted Lamb Sirloin with yam chips, and both were cooked to perfection. To complement our meal, we enjoyed two bottles of Bojador wine, which paired beautifully with our entrées and elevated the entire dining experience. We couldn't leave without dessert. The Portuguese tarts served with gelato were absolutely delicious--warm, flaky, and the perfect balance of sweetness. We also had the crème brûlée, which had a perfectly crisp caramelized top with a rich, creamy custard underneath. It was the perfect way to end an incredible meal. A huge thank you to Sarah and Jeff, who made both visits so memorable. They were warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests. Their exceptional service was just as impressive as the food. It's rare to leave a restaurant and immediately want to come back the very same day, but Fishbone Aurora absolutely earned it. Whether you're looking for a place for a business meeting, a date night, or a family dinner, I can't recommend it enough. We'll definitely be back!

The restaurant is brightly lit with lots of natural sunlight, the decor is a mix of elegance and rustic at the same time. It's got an open and inviting feel. Our server was fantastic - very patient with a large group like ours, able to tell us right off the bat what is and is not customizable, recommendations of when to order to ensure flow works out. Food: Charbroiled octopus - one of my favorite dishes I tried - perfectly cooked, has a nice char, good meaty bits but not chewy, has a really nice chili oil on it. I can not stress how much I recommend getting this if you enjoy seafood. 5/5. Chorizo appetizer - comes out in a little pig plate with an open flame underneath. The chorizo itself is good with a nice spice, dense meat. The best part of this dish (IMO) is the spiced apple sauce on the side that cuts the richness of the sausage with a sweet and tangy apple and a little spice kick. 4.5/5. Bread - fresh baked bread with butter, a pumpkin jam and cheese. Everything on that plate works so well together. I definitely recommend this as an all rounding pleasing appetizer - 5/5. Beets - the beets were fresh with a vibrant orange colour. The apple, walnut and goat cheese all work together. I do wish this dish had a bit more but it works. 4.5/5. Brussel sprouts - amazing deep fried brussel sprouts - makes me want to always deep fry them for life. The spicy harissa sauce works well with the sprouts. Crunchy peanuts on top add both a texture and nuttiness that is refreshing to the brussel sprouts. 5/5. Oysters - super fresh, absolutely delicious without any condiments needed. Loved them. 5/5. Paella - this is definitely large enough for 2 people to eat so consider sharing unless you have a monster appetite. As with all their plates, it is beautifully constructed. The shrimp are huge and meaty. Mussels are plentiful, lots of chorizo and bay scallops. The rice has that really nice briny seafood flavor from the broth. It was just a teeny tiny bit overly salty to my taste but it's cut with the dollops of sour cream. Has this really nice low level heat that just works without burning your mouth. 4.5/5. Lamb sirloin - great crust on the lamb and cook as well. Flavorful sear and crust on the lamb with a soft tender meaty interior. Can't go wrong with- 5/5. Branzino - delicious flaky and light with a great grill. If you're interested in a fresh fish, this is a good choice. Was a special on the menu - 5/5. Prices: Fine dining pricing but you get the excellent food, service and experience for the price.

Last Saturday, my thought was to have lunch at a Chinese eatery, as there are quite a number of them. It was a rare move for me to take highway 404 northbound. I normally backroad it. I saw a sign for Chuck's Roadhouse just before I was about to exit. There's a Chuck's in Aurora? I love Chuck's. I must go. I had no problem finding it when I drove north along Bayview Avenue. It's in a plaza with a Starbucks that I frequented often a good decade ago. It occurred to me that this Chuck's is where Shoeless Joe's was. My guess is that Shoeless Joe's moved to where Grandma Loves You is. I had no problem finding a parking spot fairly close to this restaurant. I pulled into a vacant spot and walked in. There are two sets of doors to go through. You go through the first set and hang a left. You go through the second set of doors and you see the signature Harley. I took photos of it. A female staffer welcomed me. I had to repeat myself, saying that I was here to dine in. She asked if the booth ahead of me was good. It was. I got a nice view of the Oilers-Flyers hockey matinee game. My server was Christina. She was wonderful. She was super attentive during my entire stay. I got a Diet Coke with a lime wedge. She made sure that I got refills. My go-to meal at Chuck's is the seven-ounce sirloin steak and lobster tail. It's a steal for $26. I substituted fries for mashed potatoes with gravy. I also got a side order of sauteed mushrooms because I was hungry and craved mushrooms. When it's Wednesday, I tend to do ribs at Chuck's. The deals are decent and, frankly, insane. It didn't take long for my meal to arrive. I was ready to tear it up. I got my steak medium. I typically do medium well, but I find that it gets overcooked when I do. Medium is a good medium! My steak was delicious. It was perfectly seasoned. I didn't need Chuck's steak sauce with it, but I have never had it before. I liked it. The lobster tail was plump and large. I loved dunking morsels of it into my clarified butter. Heck, I love clarified butter. Practically my entire meal went into it! I love mashed potatoes with gravy. It's such a comforting side. The gravy was excellent. The mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery. In the past, this meal featured corn on the cob. I like that you get corn kernels instead. They are easier to eat and, yes, taste better with clarified butter. The skillet of mushrooms were so good. They were sauteed to perfection and flavourful. I'd get them again. I had eyed the butter toffee bread pudding when I had first arrived. The problem? I was stuffed that I couldn't fit it in. Christina suggested that I could get it to go. Yes! She did say that it came with ice cream and it would likely melt. I had an insulated bag in my car, so it wouldn't melt as fast. I said yes to dessert. She had it immediately made as I paid the bill at the table. I tipped and tapped. Easy peasy! She came back with two containers. One had my butter toffee bread pudding. The other had vanilla ice cream with candied pecans in it. Yum! I let her know that she was great. It looked like I had made her day. I left my dessert on the table as I headed to the washroom before I left. There are no doors to get into the men's and women's washrooms. There were a few stalls in the women's washroom. The stall that I used was clean. I liked the wintery decorations by the sink. When I got home, I put the ice cream in the freezer. I had dessert in the evening while watching a hockey game. The butter toffee bread pudding was so good. It was comforting, moist, and not terribly sweet. The vanilla ice cream was excellent. The candied pecans made this ice cream extra special. The texture of the pecans was great with the smooth, cold ice cream. I had a great late lunch here. Service was stellar. I'd return in a heartbeat when I'm in the area. (10)
