Tip: The sirloin steak with a lobster tail is a steal! It's also yummy. Lately, I've been reacquainting myself with Aurora. Last Saturday, my thought was to have lunch at a Chinese eatery, as there are quite a number of them. It was a rare move for me to take highway 404 northbound. I normally backroad it. I saw a sign for Chuck's Roadhouse just before I was about to exit. There's a Chuck's in Aurora? I love Chuck's. I must go. I had no problem finding it when I drove north along Bayview Avenue. It's in a plaza with a Starbucks that I frequented often a good decade ago. It occurred to me that this Chuck's is where Shoeless Joe's was. My guess is that Shoeless Joe's moved to where Grandma Loves You is. I had no problem finding a parking spot fairly close to this restaurant. I pulled into a vacant spot and walked in. There are two sets of doors to go through. You go through the first set and hang a left. You go through the second set of doors and you see the signature Harley. I took photos of it. A female staffer welcomed me. I had to repeat myself, saying that I was here to dine in. She asked if the booth ahead of me was good. It was. I got a nice view of the Oilers-Flyers hockey matinee game. My server was Christina. She was wonderful. She was super attentive during my entire stay. I got a Diet Coke with a lime wedge. She made sure that I got refills. My go-to meal at Chuck's is the seven-ounce sirloin steak and lobster tail. It's a steal for $26. I substituted fries for mashed potatoes with gravy. I also got a side order of sauteed mushrooms because I was hungry and craved mushrooms. When it's Wednesday, I tend to do ribs at Chuck's. The deals are decent and, frankly, insane. It didn't take long for my meal to arrive. I was ready to tear it up. I got my steak medium. I typically do medium well, but I find that it gets overcooked when I do. Medium is a good medium! My steak was delicious. It was perfectly seasoned. I didn't need Chuck's steak sauce with it, but I have never had it before. I liked it. The lobster tail was plump and large. I loved dunking morsels of it into my clarified butter. Heck, I love clarified butter. Practically my entire meal went into it! I love mashed potatoes with gravy. It's such a comforting side. The gravy was excellent. The mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery. In the past, this meal featured corn on the cob. I like that you get corn kernels instead. They are easier to eat and, yes, taste better with clarified butter. The skillet of mushrooms were so good. They were sauteed to perfection and flavourful. I'd get them again. I had eyed the butter toffee bread pudding when I had first arrived. The problem? I was stuffed that I couldn't fit it in. Christina suggested that I could get it to go. Yes! She did say that it came with ice cream and it would likely melt. I had an insulated bag in my car, so it wouldn't melt as fast. I said yes to dessert. She had it immediately made as I paid the bill at the table. I tipped and tapped. Easy peasy! She came back with two containers. One had my butter toffee bread pudding. The other had vanilla ice cream with candied pecans in it. Yum! I let her know that she was great. It looked like I had made her day. I left my dessert on the table as I headed to the washroom before I left. There are no doors to get into the men's and women's washrooms. There were a few stalls in the women's washroom. The stall that I used was clean. I liked the wintery decorations by the sink. When I got home, I put the ice cream in the freezer. I had dessert in the evening while watching a hockey game. The butter toffee bread pudding was so good. It was comforting, moist, and not terribly sweet. The vanilla ice cream was excellent. The candied pecans made this ice cream extra special. The texture of the pecans was great with the smooth, cold ice cream. I had a great late lunch here. Service was stellar. I'd return in a heartbeat when I'm in the area. (10) read more

This chain is the place inflation forgot about. The 7 oz top sirloin steak & lobster has been at $25 since at least 2021, with just a 3% surcharge added. Of course, at these prices you don't expect much. Still, they get 3.5 stars for value & dessert. Plus they still have plastic straws! Sirloin Steak was so so: though cooked to the right temperature it didn't taste of much. Lobster was good: fresh & broiled for extra flavour, not just boiled. Smokehouse burger had crispy onion rings but the patty had no character. Fries for both dishes were hot & pretty crispy. Buckaroo was a welcome replacement for the spot in the menu usually filled by apple pie. It was good: quite big, the pastry was flaky & the vanilla filling was pretty rich. read more

Very busy today. Service started out non existent until serving staff showed up late to help out the only server in the whole restaurant. We were waited on shortly after the arrival of more staff and beers and meals followed shortly after. Wednesday wings and ribs special arrived at the table hot and tasty. read more

Was coming back to GTA from Keswick, thought we pass by this Chuck's to have cheap drinks. We've ordered a pitcher of Canadian, it wasn't cold enough and it was a bit flat even though it came out with lots of foam. We've ordered 7oz steak with fries and corn. The fries were nice and hot, but the beef wasn't as fresh, as I could smell a bit of "animal" when it's colder. My friend is more sensitive as she can taste the meat almost going bad. Service was pretty quick for us and the waitress come by often to check. There wasn't a lot of people at 8pm, most people came after 9pm for the half price appetizers deal. So many Wonderful Asian options for dining in Aurora , but sometimes one of the best options is right before your eyes. We had an amazing meal at Chucks Roadhouse in Aurora. With the recommendation of friend, we decided to try out this place for our wedding anniversary. There were multiple issues: - Wait time to be seated took 15 minutes when there were at least 3 wait staff not serving customers at that moment. - One of the food orders we ordered came out completely wrong but they refused to fix our order. - Ordered the 14oz T-bone steak (medium rare) with mashed potatoes: over seasoned with salt, the the black peppercorns did not add to the flavor, the steak was surprisingly dry and tough, mashed potatoes were ok but the buttermilk and salt were overpowering. - Ordered the 12oz Bone-In New York (medium rare) with fries: came out as the 7oz Top Sirloin (well done). It was dry and tough, not as salty as the T-bone steak. Portion of fries was small. I try to add at least 1 positive in my reviews: the ambience is ok, they have live sports games on their TV. We went to Chuck's for dinner after movie on a Tuesday evening. When arrived, there was a couple waiting in front of us as if they have waited for a while to be seated. After 10 mins of waiting, finally there was a host to bring us to the table. The prices on the menu were SHOCKINGLY cheap. A steak and mash was only $14!! My ribs/ wings combination was only $20. However, they have added a 3% price increase to each item rather than re-printing the menu so be careful on that!! 1/2 price appetizers after 9pm! A 12 oz domestic beer was only $3!! The steak was very tender, and cooked as we asked for- medium rare. The corn was very buttery and sweet. The mash was not flavourful but not too too bad. The ribs was overly cooked, very charred, not meaty. The wings though, they were very deliciuos... Not oily, still juicy inside, and still crispy despite covering in honey. The loaded cheese fries were also a good choice. It was basically loaded potatoes but with fries instead of a whole potato. Overall, it was a very economic choice for hanging out. I'm upping my 3 star to a 4 on this update for Chuck's. To be honest, you cannot find a better place (with unbeatable prices!) for beer drinking in Aurora. If you are a beer lover, this is the place for you. My uncle loves Chuck's, and he comes here religiously almost everyday - you might spot us sharing a pitcher of Belgium Moon on Fridays lol. 20 oz. domestic beer for $4 from 11am to 5pm everyday. 54 oz. domestic pitcher for $9 on Thursdays. Lunch specials are only $7 - I really enjoy the Crispy Chicken Wrap, it comes with a side of fries or you can change it to corn on cob with no extra cost. The delicious Prime Rib Burger with fries for $5 on the menu is also quite a steal :D! Service is always friendly and welcoming :) Food does take a bit longer to make but I'm sure a pitcher of beer can keep you company lol. read more

I'd been dying to try this place as I'd heard a lot about it. So when I got there I anticipated a nice meal... The Good: Visited in August 2020 with my family on the way home from Sibbald Point. It was in a convenient location halfway home from the beach and I'd heard a lot of good things from friends (about the Durham locations). The Bad: I had ordered the beef dip sandwich, my wife the ribs and wings, my daughter the chicken parmigiana. I found that in spite of what I'd heard about large, filling portions, the sandwich was tiny! Picture a dinner roll with a couple of slices of deli roast beef. A smattering of fries, seriously they gave me 10 fries, and a salty as hell cup of jus. My wife's plate looked better as did my daughter's pasta (more on that later). The waitress just did not want to be there, she was on her phone quite a lot. The other waitress was busy sitting at another table with a couple of guys who were quite enamoured with her... The Ugly: We arrived home just in time for my daughter to begin her night of food poisoning. As it turned out, her chicken was undercooked. A very poor experience overall. Thuet lost our order, many tables sat after us received their food before us. My wife's steak, requested medium, arrived very under cooked. We sent it back only to be returned barely cooked any further. We gave up at that point. The server apologized profusely but never once thought to bring a Manager into the situation. We quietly requested our bill, no discount considered or given, no Manager notified of a poor experience, just happy to move on from us. I totally agree with some of the other reviews here, good quality food at a uber cheap price. With the bogo free entree coupon we received in the mail, the Asian in me is screaming scorrrrreeee! The Mr. started with a 32oz beer for $6.50 followed by a 10oz New York steak and lobster tail $25.99 while I ordered the lobster tail dinner $23.99. I have to say, these were very decent size lobsters and it tasted very fresh. The Mr. also like his steak very much. To finish off the meal, we got the baked apple with almonds crumbs and ice cream. We recieved coupons in the mail and thought we would give the restaurant a try. We were expecting a typical pub style restaurant, which it was. We visted on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and the restaurant wasn't extremely busy (at least not in the dining area, but bar area was full of mostly men). (Which was a bonus as I find when I order burgers usually they come burnt or dry). My fries were luke warm. My family ordered chicken fingers/fries which were piping hot and a chicken sandwich meal, which was actually not good (cold- as it was sitting for a while, not much taste and seemed small as there weren't a lot of ingredients on the burger). Anyways, would we visit again? - Yes, to give it another try. My wife and I went there on August 2nd 2023. NEVER AGAIN !!!! The server didn't smile and was not pleasant at all !!!! Waited 15 mins for her to come to our table ( which was right in front of the bar). Someone also told me later it was an owner ! Only 9 people in the place, all at the bar. Came here as a fairly large party of 8 yesterday and was not really impressed with my experience. Here are the issues I had : 1. The steaks my family asked for were well done, and they received medium at best. My 8 year old niece's steak was pretty much a medium rare. 2. The restaurant wasn't really busy, and we were seated with a server who said it was her 3rd day. I really don't think that they should have assigned a large family group to her. 3. That being said, the service was just incredibly slow. Took like 30 mins after ordering to receive our drinks, and like 20 mins after to get a refill. I actually had to get up and go find a server to ask for it. 4. The food quality is... I guess you get what you pay for. 5. Finally, there's a 3% honest to goodness charge on the bill. Apparently it's there to help keep the prices low. That is just really weird. In terms of food, everyone at my table except me ordered the steak. My brother had his rare and was ok with it. His came with a lobster tail that had a fishy smell to it. Everyone else was quite unhappy with the steaks. I had the unlimited caeser (made with mixed greens rather than romaine due to the recall) and omg it had waaaaaaay too much dressing. The chef/cook at this location has absolutely no idea how to make a steak. Been to this location about 8 times the past 3 weeks and every single time it was horrible. The servers are aware of this issue as on my last visit she admitted that the guy who makes the steak has no idea how to make it properly however previous times she has very weird excuses to blame me and say I'm wrong and that's how the steak should be.... wow. This location used to be a Crabby Joe's. I was pleasantly surprised how far your dollar is stretched here and the quality of the food you get. First off, $5.00 for a burger with fries is quite unbelievable. When the burger comes to your table, you get a delicious burger that's charbroiled and a decent size that is satisfying. Add a $5.00 pint and you have a great meal for $10.00. Also order were $9.00 beef ribs which also comes with fries. There are drink specials and daily specials each day. Heard about their after 9pm half priced apps so decided to try it out with my wife and 7 year old son last night (Aug. 17, 2022). Ordered the honey garlic wings and nachos. The food I would say was 6-7/10, but the service was ridiculous. The server was an older lady, man was she rude. When she first approached the table, she just stared at us and didn't say anything, no hello or anything. So i guess she was waiting for us to order, when i proceeded to order and she completely cuts me off and said everyone has to order a drink with that, so I said that's fine. I finished ordering the two apps and ordered two drinks, and asked if they had milk for my son, they said no, so I ordered apple juice, which we don't usually give my son to drink because of the sugar content. She didn't say anything and just left. Anyway, she didn't bring our food, someone else did, and never came back to check on the table or asked us if we wanted to order anything else. We even had to ask another waitress to get the bill for us because she had disappeared into another section and never came back. Seriously, why the attitude and rudeness? Been visiting Chuck's roadhouse for the past few years. It started with my son wanting to go to McDonalds next door. I said, no let's try a real burger. I was surprised at the value. $8.00 chucks burger and fries. Freshly made each day and you can taste the freshness. Can't get a Big Mac and fries for the same price. Happy to say that the quality has not gone down hill over the past few years. My favourite is the chucks burger, my son likes the fish and chips. We've done take out and dine in. Staff have been polite and have never had an issue. If you're interested in bar and grill food, chucks is worth a try, and if you ever get a McDonalds coupon book, don't do it, go for a chucks burger instead ;) read more

My date wanted to go out for drinks and chose this place. It was pretty new and I like the atmosphere. We only came here for drinks so there's not much to say about the food. Their service was on point, they kept checking up on us which was nice and didn't interrupt us. It wasn't that loud and a decent place to grab drinks. A group of us went to Chuck's for dinner after work on a Friday evening. I had to try contacting the restaurant a few times (through social media) before I finally got through on the phone to make a reservation. When I arrived to secure the table, we were seated at a high-top table in the bar. I asked if there was anything available in the dining room and they said no (understandable as it was a Friday night). I was not given the option when I spoke with someone on the phone to make my reservation. Anyway, we rolled with the punches and had a good night overall. The overall ambience (sound) was louder than I thought it would be, but there was also a Raptors game showing on the huge screen over the bar. This was a big plus for me and I made a mental note to return for NBA playoff games because it would be ideal! I had a burger, one friend had the salmon, and another friend had the pulled pork sandwich. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dinners. Service was OK, I sensed that the server was a bit rushed and annoyed but maybe that is to be expected on a Friday night. In my opinion, it could have been slightly better. I went here with my boyfriend after going to Wasaga beach. The restaurant was empty when we were there. It could be because it was a Sunday night. Service was not bad. However there were a lot of flies all over the restaurant because they had the doors opened. My boyfriend had to exchange his beer 5 times since flies kept going into his beer. I had the honey salmon on the maple wood it was tasty. I enjoyed it. My boyfriend's ribs however was horrible. It was dry and had no sauce on it at all. Do not order this dish.
