I am a Keg fan.....I will choose the Keg anytime there is one in the town I am staying in. I ordered a steak for take out from the Albert Street location. I have to be honest......it was not even average. Perhaps a one off....hopefully that is the case....but have never been disappointed like this.....in many many years. This Keg is easily the best steakhouse in Regina. I have been here many times and I have never once had a bad food experience. The servers, however, can be hit or miss. I've had a young lady who was obviously having "drama" with another staff member and she wasn't professional enough to leave her anger and pissy attitude away from our table. I have never left hungry and I have never been disappointed. I have paid hundreds for a meal at another town steak house .... (rhymes with hiplomat).... and have never had a steak or meal as good as the Keg can do. I took my wife to this location for a steak and lobster dinner and the server suggested we share the ginormous lobster tail for two that was a special at the time ... After a rough night at earls, it seemed fitting to come to the keg for some celebratory appies and drinks. We had David as our server, and he made the experience today all the more better. We only had the baked brie and some calamari for food but David provided some stellar service to accommodate an awesome vibe to our night full of drinks. Service was swift, and was the real pillar to our enjoyable night. Bottom line, the night was fun. And I'm thankful for the good vibes. read more

The service was amazing and very friendly and helpful. But the food was not worth it. The calamari was tasteless and cold when it got to the table. The white dipping sauce was horrible. Tasted as though a jar of garlic paste was added to a tasteless yogurt or yogurt less dip. The steak was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. The twice baked potato was cold and not even warm which was a huge disappointment. Roasted veggies and the mushrooms were delicious. After this experience I am not sure I would go back as I don't feel how much we were charged really is fair when the quality and temperature of items ordered are not up to standards. read more

Disappointed!! When you go you expect excellent instead of poor quality- service was great - food was disappointing! Day old potatoes and vegetables rock hard - didn't even want to try the entree - when you try the sides which is the least expensive part of the meal and zero effort is put into it! read more

My family has been coming to The Keg for years for all of our special occasions as well as just a random Wednesday night supper. The last handful of times we were there we felt that the service as well as the food had started going downhill and wasn't the wonderful food and experience we were used to. The very last time we went was when my mom took me there for my birthday supper and the food was absolutely terrible. Besides being seated in the corner where we were super far away from everyone else and the waiter kept forgetting we even existed, we both ended up getting physically sick before we even left the restaurant... TMI, but we straight up just made it to the bathroom. The manager didn't charge us for the meal which was appreciated, but she was trying to make excuses for why the food and service wasn't good which I didn't appreciate. She actually thought we had eaten the lobster and I had to explain to her that we each had one small piece and that was just how sadly small the lobster was. I understand that every place may have a bad meal once in a while but unfortunately this has been too many bad episodes in a row. I am not sure if we will be going back there anymore. Food today is expensive enough and if I'm going to be spending my money, it's going to be somewhere where the food is top quality and I know I'm not going to leave sick. Hopefully they can somehow turn this around because we really used to enjoy The Keg. read more

Horrible experience last night- not with the service, as it was wonderful. The problem was that as I had a direct shot into the kitchen, I observed one of their line cooks using a cell phone and also wiping his runny nose with his un-gloved hand and then go right back to plating meals. I brought this up to the manager. She was very apologetic and comped the salad and escargot I had already eaten, but after viewing the cook, I had had enough. I really enjoy the Keg's I have eaten at across Canada, but I will never visit this one again. read more

First off let's clear something up - these are not unreasonable prices for steak. Its pricey, yes, but so is all steak. And it's about time Canadian beef farmers got some coin. Anyways, off the soap box. I stopped in here for a little dinner part and enjoyed a New York strip loin. It was large and tender, cooked medium rare (how I ordered it). The best thing about The Keg is consistency. The floorplan and décor between locations is consistent. The menu and wine list are what you expect. There were a couple of new items on the cocktail menu. We tried the burnt orange old fashioned and enjoyed it. The steaks (and all the food) was properly cooked. We finished with Billy Miner pie which is about as classic as it gets at The Keg. On Saturday night it was busy and the service was a little slow. read more

I have been travelling thru Canada from the US Lower 48 to Alaska for the past 31 years several times a year. In that time there has been a tremendous improvement in restaurants and hotels. The Keg is the latest improvement in that process. Our meals were absolutely perfect in every way. The wait staff was attentive and responsive. The food was exactly as ordered and of excellent quality. Our drinks were well poured and served just we like them. Prices were very reasonable for their quality and the clean and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. After a long day of travelling, it is a rare pleasure to find a place like this, especially outside of the big cities. Congratulations in every respect. Keep up the good work! read more

Allow me to be succinct never again. The old south Keg has gradually been slipping into a just mediocre steak joint. With 2 prior shaky visits and some gift cards to burn and an event to celebrate we braced a chilly and headed to what once had been a no brainer good service, decent eats, chill vibe it had it all for many years. I'm not sure what's happened at the keg, but it's worrisome. Two of my guests (my wife and father) decided on the prime rib. What a catastrophe the meat was cut razor thin and what was served as meat looked like mangled road kill. The keg taste was still there and my wife and dad obligingly ate what they were served not wanting to wait for re-fires. Our waiter who was the only bright spot of our visit was polite and efficient. I let him know I was unhappy their "chefs" all but destroyed a beautiful piece of meat from here on in I'm calling the Sunday night meat massacre. At some point the manager came over and just made a mess of things. Her tone and attitude were atrocious, little did she know my father and my family have well over 40 years experience in the biz. She was totally condescending and rude towards my father, who did not need a tutorial in the preparation of prime rib. She comped the desserts but by then the damage was done and her painful defence of her kitchen staff fell on deaf ears. It's a sad day to say I won't be returning to the keg after tonight, but with so many legacy steakhouses who have been doing things right for such a long time it's not worth the heartache of expecting the Keg South return to its glory days. Grey service and food was exceptional. Coming from US i am used to places with this type of quality and the prices were reasonable for the food. Ill visit again when i am back in canada again for sure. read more

Not bad at all.Nice atmosphere,good service,and very good food.Had the crab cakes which were a little better than average.However had the tuna tacos and they were great!Wonderful flavor and very unique!Friends had a steak and chicken dish which they really liked.The fresh bread was pretty awesome too.Also try the bruschetta.A mix of wonderful flavours. read more

Fine California cuisine spinach salad and Niza the bartender made a perfect Ketel one martini. Courtney, our charming waitress graciously chatted about the area with us and was an A+ waitress. This Keg is hit or miss. My wife and I tried it again, taking a huge chance after the last 2/4 meals here being huge disasters. One experience here included getting angle cut pieces of bamboo skewer in my Blue Cheese Filet crust after I sent the steak back for being Blue rare. The kitchen staff's idea of a "joke"? Were there any adults present?! My wife's order also took 45 minutes longer than mine, and she eats much slower than me. No apology from the waiter. The Meh response from the only manager present, a 20 something bar manger did not impress. He did quickly dispose of the skewer evidence however... Another experience for my wife's Birthday was great, uncharacteristic. Anyway, this last meal was average at best, disappointing. Service this time was glacial, the restaurant was not busy. I ordered the Pistachio crusted chicken with sautéed Brussel Sprouts and Maple butter sauce. The fish arrived as a bland portion of roasted Salmon with a little pile of slightly burnt pistachios on top- hmmm, no completely crusted portion. I asked our seemingly stressed waitress (not that busy) about the effort. Apparently that is how it is supposed to be presented?! The menu description is certainly misleading, what I got does not jive with the reality. The butter sauce was simply just melted butter- very bland. There was a too small portion of slightly burnt Brussels Sprouts with a LOT of bacon and grease. Very average overall, maybe below average. Half of our meal was bathed in the gentle light of two pick-up trucks left running in the parking lot behind the restaurant with headlights at eye level. The other patrons sitting in the glare seemed oblivious, the wait staff did not notice either. The trucks were shut off for a short time, then re-started?! The blinds on that wall should have been completely closed- period. I would have asked, but the waitstaff simply never came by our table in time. This Keg is trying to be something it's not- delusions of grandeur. The multi-million dollar decor/ location is certainly nice but the staff are so inconsistent, I feel they can't even make the standards held by the Keg chain. read more

Consistently good. We go pretty routinely and it's always a good meal. Not excellent but always good. Wait staff is always decent and compared to other restaurants in Regina prices a very comparable. read more

The Keg has moved a block from its old location and provides a great experience. It was busy when I arrived but sat at the bar, the staff were excellent and attentive, a rarity I have found in Regina. The meal was good and what you expect from the Keg. read more
