I called this morning to see if he could program new remote for my truck and cut two keys. I have the blanks and remote, I just need to get them usable. He said he wouldn't help me because he didn't sell them to me. Could have been easy money. Maybe business is so good he doesn't need more. As a business owner, I doubt that's the case. read more

Called this guy to ask him for prices and he was charging me $180 for a standard key with chip to be used in a 2008 Mazda3 (non-button switch ignition starter) plus he wanted $160 for the replacement key less entry car key fob remote, total $340 - Went to Orchard Supply and they made the new self programming key for $80 and I purchased the self programming remote on eBay for $20, I saved my self $240. I understand the Key Guy needs to make a profit but not by ripping-off people. SHAME ON YOU!! read more

I've actually used Roman twice. Once when someone broke into my Charger and busted my trunk lock. Not only did he give the best price he also had the fastest response of arrival. He was very friendly and had great customer service. The first experience was so good that it was a no-brainer to call him again when I lost the keys to my car. Once again he gave a great price. My keys were misplaced at my wedding reception and my car was stuck at our hotel. I called one company that said they could be there in half an hour, waited over two hours and never had anyone show up! We then contacted The Key Guy, on Father's Day, and he came to my rescue! My Son had lost the last spare key to our 2001 Acura yesterday evening. My Wife had already contacted a dealer, but l was unaware of this, until this morning as she was getting ready to leave. I asked her where she was going, because I was going to contact a person who had been recommended to me by a friend. My Wife informed me that she had an appointment a little after 8 this morning in Modesto, I told her to start towards Modesto, but if she received a phone number from me, to call it. I called " The Key Guy " after I had spoken with several other Locksmiths who weren't able to assist me. I called at 9:04 am and spoke with Roman, who listened to my problem and asked for the year of the vehicle and make and after a few minutes Roman informed me that the dealer would need a Locksmith because of the vehicle. I called my Wife, but unfortunately she'd already signed the authorization papers and l asked her how they were going to provide another key. My Wife told me that a Locksmith was waiting to perform the work needed for another key and would be finished in a few minutes. I called Roman back and informed him that I was a little late contacting my Wife, but was impressed with his knowledge and will be contacting him for a key for my vehicle, which had been broken into a couple of years ago, but with a son in College l put it on a back burner. I wanted to a key fob programmed for a car I had bought a couple months ago so I looked online for a programmer and came across this company. I gave them a call after work just to see what could be done and the man that answered was really rude! I just wanted to explain my situation to him and he rudely interrupted me and asked "does your car even come with this feature" and I explained I thought so because it had a security system so it might have it and he interrupted me and talked to me like if I didn't know anything. His website says "saves you a trip to the dealership" but he tells me I should go there and then call him back. Why would I call back of I go to the dealership? Might as well get the job done there. Bad customer support service, the only good C.S was when I was asked "anything else I can help with?" And the hang up wasn't much better either. I just wanted information if something could be done but a potential was just lost. Maybe he was having a bad day but that should be no reason to act like that towards customers. I give just the C.S. 1 star, I don't know how the rest would have gone but I wouldn't be contacting this person again. read more
