My child really enjoys going there and is excited in the mornings walking in. As a parent I can say one of the things that is always cautious is that you never know a 100% what is going on with your child so a lot of trust is involved but from what I have seen and the reactions I get from my child they have a very fun hands on program with the kids and you couldn't really ask much more. I will probably re-review in the coming years when my child enters the older classrooms to see how the development is handled. As of now though it is pretty good.

She is the tiniest toddler in the room. I proceeded to observe the situation as the teacher continued yelling and snatching items out of the kids hands. I thought about reacting but I knew they'd call the cops on me. So I went to the office, got Miralena and said, "You need to get your teacher. She's in there yanking the kids and snatching things." As we walked to the classroom, you could literally hear the teacher yelling and screaming at the kids. At that point, Miralena pulled the teacher to the back room and talked to her. I don't know what was said... At that point, my granddaughter started crying cause she didn't want to stay. Mind you this child has been going to this school for over a year and actually looked forward to going to school every day. (Especially when Miss Nyema was there) I left. Sat in the car for a second to gather my thoughts. Then went back inside and told Miralena "Today is her last day! And, I'm gonna need your director to contact me immediately." 11:34am Tuesday 2/14/23, Miralena called "So Ali is staying?" I replied, "Well I don't know. I'm still waiting for your director to call me. So how was that situation handled? Were her parents made aware of the incident involving their child? Cause I'm still trying to get in touch with them. " She said, "We let the teacher go. She won't be back." I said, " Well where's your director because she never called me...and since she didn't it's too late. What is corporates number?" She said, "I'm not in the office and have to stay in the classroom all day today." 4:54pm Tuesday 2/14/23, Rashawnah calls. She apologized for not getting back to me sooner. I asked, "When did Miralena tell you about the incident?" She said "Friday evening." I said, "Isn't protocol to alert superiors immediately after an incident involving the children?" She said "Yes!" So I said, "Right. Since Miralena didn't and now you're just calling me about an incident that took place early Friday morning ...other measures need to be taken. What's corporate number and I want that ethics line too." I proceeded to say, "See if I had snatched her ass up y'all would have called the cops on me. You would want me to do something too if it were you and yours. This didn't personally happen to me and mine but I witnessed it happen to another baby who could have very well been ours." I told her that she would be able to see it all on the cameras. She said they don't have cameras inside the facility. 11:36am Today, 2/17/23 Kelly Phelan calls me to ask is Ali last day on Tuesday? I said, "No. where did you get that from?" She said, "You the grandmother told someone here that her last day was on Tuesday." Then she proceeded to say, "AND JUST SO YOU KNOW, LICENSING WAS JUST HERE AND FOUND NO WRONGDOINGS." I said, "WELL HOW WAS THAT DETERMINED WHEN THEY DIDN'T CONTACT ME THE WITNESS WHO SAW IT HAPPEN?" Nowwwww she wants to play victim. Talking about me screaming...so I hung up. She called back to threaten me with the police if I come down there." I called her back to confirm what she had said and hung up. All of this because I reported a danger that I witnessed against a defenseless baby girl. Now Kelly wants to gaslight and play victim. Her guilty conscience came out in her "argument" with me. Extremely unprofessional.

Our daughter began attending Cornerstone Montessori when she was three and has been there for two…read moreyears. She has had a wonderful learning experience there and I credit her teachers for the warm and caring environment in which all the students are learning. The children learn everything from personal responsibility and life skills to learning how to read and write, developing a strong foundation in math skills, and an understanding of the world around us through social studies, geography, and science. The students enjoy weekly lessons in Spanish, cooking, gym, art, music, and more. The students also experience at least two field trips during the school year, playing in the snow (as long as they bring appropriate snow gear), Bike Day at the end of each month, a few celebrations, such as International Day where families come in and teach the students about their heritage. CMS encourages family involvement, whether it's participating in special events or coming in to teach a lesson. Families may be as involved as they choose to be and aren't pressured to do more than they can give. Cornerstone Montessori also offers before- and after-school care for working parents like us and three 2-week summer sessions. The summer sessions are great for parents who would like to check out the school and see if it is right for their child as well as for students who are already enrolled to maintain the skills they have developed during the school year and continue on their learning path. Immediately I knew this was a special place for my son. And our experience here with school and summer camp have far surpassed what we had hoped for. Their school motto of "grow confidently"- really illustrates the transformation my son went through from a 2.5 year old toddler to a 5 year old boy who is confident and loves to learn now. The teachers are outstanding- they really love kids and love teaching kids to embrace and enjoy learning. There were multiple incidents of bullying and/or kids just misbehaving and the school not handling those situations properly. I had no false hope that every kid would act like an angel 100% of the time and believe I was realistic in hoping that if and when a child would not behave well, the teachers would know how to handle it- boy, was I wrong! My daughter was scratched, pushed, hit, had her leg stood on by a boy (to which the teacher just told the other kid not to do it bc my daughter didn't like it.... Because so many people would) The straw that broke the camels back was: my husband arrived to pick up my daughter and noticed a bump/bruise on her head. He asked the 3 teachers at the door what happened. They all said they didn't know. Our daughter told us that a boy (who had done other things to her in the past and sounded to be an overall behavioral issue), hit her in the head with a stick on the playground. I asked if a teacher saw. She said no. She said she told a teacher and that teacher put the kid in timeout. Ok, fine. BUT, she happened to be one of the teachers at the door that said she didn't know what happened to my daughter.... In all the time my daughter went yo the school, we felt they operated in the dark. We never received an email about any incidents and when we brought it to her teachers attention, he said he would look into it and get back to me. Never did. After this last incident, they also said they were going to investigate and interview the teachers and get back to me with their findings. They never did. It became very obvious to me that this school was all about collecting $$, but not providing even the basic service of safety, not to mention an education. I am not an unreasonable individual, and if they had just communicated when things happened and told me how they remedied it, I would have been ok. Send your child elsewhere..... there are plenty of good schools out there. This is not one of them.

The center was very accommodating and welcoming with new children entering into classrooms mid-year. They helped my sons feel supported and comforted and had safety protocols in place to make us feel safe bringing our children there. They have both learned so much and have made friends. They even potty trained my two year old! They had a fun and socially distanced Trunk of Treat for Halloween and also just got an outdoor playground upgrade that my boys are so excited about. The teachers are dedicated and give thoughtful feedback during conferences. The lesson plans are creative and include lots of hands on activities. I would highly recommend this school to parents looking for a positive and safe daycare experience.

When we moved to NJ he went to school as well in swedesboro. When we moved to deptford and transferred him to tutor time. Within a month, Hr would cry every morning, begging and pleading not to go to school. " I don't like school" "please I don't wanna go" etc. My husband and I just put it off because we just thought he was a normal 3 year old that didn't like going to school. He then would act out when we got home, terrible attitude, crying, hitting, it was almost unbearable. We talked to someone at the center and they mentioned how he wouldn't nap. Of course I know my child and I figured that could be a factor but they immediately dismissed any other concern. Fast forward a couple of months of literally heartache before and after school, Dmy husband gets a TEXT from his assistant teacher, saying she's quitting and walking out and she cares so much about our that she's worried about his safety because our son was being mistreated and she thought we should know. My husband immediately went to the school and talked to her, apparently two teachers were caught being high while "teaching" have been caught hitting children, falls asleep while watching kids and that they would purposely send our son home with sh*t in his UNDERWEAR just to inconvenience My husband and I because we were one of the last ones to pick him up for the day. I noticed on the cameras that this one teacher was ALWAYs sitting on her phone or the tablet they had. When my husband confronted the director she blew him off and offered half off tuition. My heart literally broke because our son was trying to tell us the best he could but he didn't know how. He's been at the learning experience ever since and has since never gave any issues going to school like he did before.

I was incredibly nervous, as she has never gone to day care or any such program. The staff was amazing (thank you Deb and Jeanie), and they had a handful to deal with. I was a crying fool the first 2 days. My daughter LOVED it! So much so that I signed her up for 5 days of pre-school. Lynn and Jeanie are wonderful! They truly love their job and it shows every single day. My daughters teachers, Laura, Donna, and Mindy are fantastic! My daughter is the youngest in her class, but that has not stopped her from anything. In fact, school has helped her in so many ways from speech development to social skills. She loves going to school, her teachers, and her friends. I was even nervous about adding the 2 extra days, but I truly think it was one of smartest decisions!
