Upon entry, there was light music playing in the background with a really good vibe happening. I purchased the chocolate ice cream that tasted like Mexican abuelita chocolate and also ordered the corn with hot Cheetos and cheeses. Oh man... watch out Paleteria's out there! The King Ice Cream is here! The King Ice Cream has tons of options here, from lunch, snack and desserts, they are really competing w the other guys. The frozen desserts are similar; however, they have more seating and it's just slightly more roomy in there. The King Ice Cream is located right next door to GameStop on Ming Ave. Parking shouldn't be a problem as it's a huge parking area; however, there are other businesses nearby so some days are better than others. I havent been here enough to tell you what days are better than others, but I do know that the wait time is less than 5 min here no matter how long the line is and I havent been here enough to see a huge line. The King Ice Cream doesnt only serve ice creams/paletas. I havent had an opportunity to try out their non-dessert menu but the elotes here are not your ordinary elote. They have cheetos and other chip options also dusted on the elote. They have great deals on lunch specials. Long live the King!! Strange how I have never seen this place before especially considering that wifey and I have a favorite restaurant nearby. They are in the same plaza as Ross Dress For Less on Ming Ave. My mom was the one who saw this shop, and she asked us to all go here after eating dinner. So glad that she made the suggestion. The King Ice Cream shop sells more than just ice cream. I saw some of those choices that others purchased, but we were only interested in their ice cream. I believe they make their own ice cream, but don't quote me on that. I was torn between trying one of their many paletas or a scoop of one of their ice cream flavors. After sampling several of their flavors, I chose a scoop of Strawberry Cheesecake. It was yummylicious. Everyone in the family was pleased with their choices. Happy that we found the King!! For a small and hidden place in Bakersfield I very much enjoy The King Ice Cream. My favorite would have to be the crepes! They are reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. I do have to ask for light Nutella because they can get a little too happy with it lol The corn esquite is also a must try and I'm a sucker for a good fresas con crema. Haven't been disappointed yet with anything I've ordered. They do get pretty busy so it's usually a hit or miss whether you're going to have to wait a while or not for your order. read more

This place just opened, and boy am I glad it did! We went here on a whim with my daughter, and were totally blown away! All of their ice creams/popsicles/deserts are made there, and it really shows!
