Good seafood taco for nyc! Got the crab empanada, fish taco, and octopus taco Crab empanada: breading is good but nothing special. I liked the crab inside Fish taco: homemade tortilla was delicious and soft. Fish was fried well and flavoring good Octopus taco: the item I liked the least. Octopus cut into tiny bits and put in taco Came here for lunch on a Sunday and there was no one else in the restaurant.

Amazing food, service and vibes all around!!! The drink menu has an impressive selection of mezcal which is my absolute favorite. 2 pages of mezcal drinks! All fresh house made ingredients. The food was also just as amazing. We tried the garlic butter shrimp, guacamole and agua chile shrimp. All were yummy and fresh with the right amount of spice. I tried the fish and lobster tacos. Both were food dance inducing! The homemade corn tortillas were hearty and held up to the generous fillings. I also tried the crab pilon which was a taco served on a fried plantain. That was super yummy too! I'm leaving here stuffed and happy!! Super cute spot for a date or family night out! Ps- they were playing awesome music too!!

You know you're about to step into something really special when a place is buzzing--even on a Sunday night. From start to finish, everything we ordered was exceptional: the mezcal, crab empanada, tostadas sampler, and fish soup were all incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. Huge shoutout to Angeles for her warm service--it truly made the experience even better. And honestly, they had me the moment I saw the line "Our food comes from the sea, not from the fridge." That says it all. A must-visit and absolutely worth the hype.

When my friend offered to take me out for an early birthday meal, I immediately suggested this place. We were both looking forward to the food and the overall ambiance is so nice. Waited at the bar and had a drink until my friend arrived. The bartender/server was very nice. I had the PAPIRRIN, TEQUILA. JALAPEÑO SYRUP, LIME. PASSION FRUIT and TRIPLE SEC. Really enjoyable, the right amount of spice! We decided to sit in the back once she arrived. Such a cool and creative space, with a boat like feel. To start we had THE KING SAMPLER PLATTER , Choose: one empanada (we chose the crab) , one taco (the fish) and one tostada( ceviche) It comes with a beer can. The food did not disappoint, we both loved it, the ceviche being are least favorite. We sampled many dishes, hehe. Next we had the shrimp quesadilla and the baby shark empanada. The quesadilla was not good, too much cheese (just a big glob) and only about 2-3 pieces of regular sized shrimp. The shark empanada was tasty ( a Little salty) but good. Wait, we weren't done. We tried the CRAB PILIN, Crispy plantain, shredded coleslaw and carrot with ketchup, mayonnaise, and secret sauce on top). So delicious.( we shared every dish) lastly, the lobster taco, I really enjoyed it. She felt she's had better. Overall, I love how they dress all the food. For dessert we tried the coconut flan, it was a fail in my opinion. The sauce taste terribly burnt. I ordered a variety of drinks, QUE PEDO - Tequila, mint, ginger, lime, agave, triple sec, it was good, but my fave. CHUKI - Tequila, hibiscus flower, lime, agave, triple sec, also good but not a favorite. MIRREY -Tequila, jalapeno, agave, lime, triple sec, one of my faves, along with the pappirin. Lastly, ECHAR PATA - Ron, guava, coconut cream, substituted with tequila. So creamy and delicious. Because we didn't like the flan, we tried the chocolate empanadas. Much tastier.

Great service, great food options! We had the crab claws and the sampler. The crab claws were not my favorite because there wasn't much meat. The sampler was a great way to try their taco options. Would definitely come back.

Estrella Galicia zero alcohol + shrimp taco , lobster taco , fish taco

Excellent spot . Many draft beer options available. Zero alcohol beer from Spain , even they carry gluten free beer from estrella company as well . Ambience nicely decorated for Halloween time . Great bar . Food is great ( pink sauce is extremely spicy you gotta be careful) Lobster options is a big threat . Looking forward to visit king of meat sister restaurant next block away....

    Shrimp taco and ceviche taco

This place serves spectacular tacos and beer. The tortillas are fresh and handmade, the avocados are top quality, and the crema is delicious. The fish is high quality, comparable to what you'd find in Quintana Roo. The fried shrimp is fresh, crispy, juicy, and bouncy. The ceviche has a perfect tender texture with the right balance of acidity and savoriness. The service was friendly and prompt. And the place is very well kept and cute inside very cozy.

Food: The food is amazing here! My favorites are the fish tacos, but the octopus taco is also very good. The fish is cooked perfectly and tastes very fresh. The baby shark empanada was just okay - not a must get. The ceviche tostada was excellent. I would recommend this item if you enjoy ceviche. We also ordered a fish platter which comes with a whole fried red snapper, squid ink rice and salad. The platter was delicious, but I prefer the tacos over this dish. Service: Service was phenomenal. The staff came over frequently to see if we needed anything. He was also so friendly and kind. Other staff who weren't our main server also came by to see how our food was. A very warm and welcoming staff here! Ambiance: The ambiance is so nice. In the front of the restaurant, there is a full bar with a few tables which can accommodate a small or large group by putting tables together. They have a back section to the restaurant which has more tables for both large and small groups. The decor is nice here and has an ocean and sailor theme. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this place!

    $20: Platter Sampler

My friend and I went to check out The King of Fish at 5pm on a Tuesday after seeing the rave reviews. I made a reservation, but it wasn't necessary! I do want to add that it was drizzling, so that could be why the restaurant was not super busy. The ambiance has a nice, cozy feel and they commit to the nautical theme with their outfits! There was a prettier seating area in the back, but it looked like it was under renovation. I had three tacos: shrimp ($6), fish ($6), and octopus ($7). My friend got the platter sampler ($20). The highlight was the freshness of the seafood. That being said, I do like the taste of fresh shrimp, light fish, and octopus, but find the profiles to be on the mild side. I can appreciate the lightness but prefer a more robust flavor profile playing with sauces, spices, and vegetables in the taco. I also liked that their taco shell was robust enough to not fall apart but maintained the soft-taco vibes. My favorite was the fish because the batter provided more flavor. Service here was warm and welcoming! Our original server just spoke Spanish, so the bartender stepped in to help us translate. They did multiple check backs to make sure we were okay and did not pressure us with the check. If you're looking for cozy vibes and fresh seafood small bites, then check out The King of Fish!

What a gem!!! This was our first night in Brooklyn and we were blown away by the delicious food and amazing service. We love the ambiance of this place - cozy and fun! When you enter, you'll be greeted by staffs wearing sailor uniforms and hear the chatters of clientele who seem to be regulars at this restaurant. We ordered a lot of food, I can't members exactly all the items but it included a wide selection of seafood options: fried calamari, tostada mixed platter (came with shrimp, ceviche, squid?, and scallop?). We also had baby shark tacos, fish tacos, octopus tacos, lobster tacos, some quesadillas dish... it all tasted heavenly! This is probably the best seafood taco place I have been. We had such a great time here and the staffs were so friendly. If you love seafood, this is one place you don't want to miss!

I get around New York. I eat at several restaurants and visit many cocktail bars each month. Recently I've been on a taco tour. If you read my reviews, you'll notice I try to rate fairly and as highly as possible as long as it's honest. I want everyone to know that this experience is DIFFERENT. If I could rate The King of Fish 10 stars, I would. I texted someone as I sipped my final cocktail of the evening and said, "I'm sipping this last cocktail as slowly as possible because it's just me, the Venezuelan owner, and another patron originally from Chile. It's somehow magical." This really was a magical night. These are the kind of nights that made me fall in love with New York and has kept me here for the last three years. This seafood place and bar is so laid back and fun. They have live entertainment. Tonight was jazz. It feels like a community. The owner made all of my drinks personally, and he's one of the nicest and most personable people I've ever met. He made me feel like we had known each other for years. The servers were attentive and were people so cool I would want them to be my friends. I came here because another local business owner said he had the best fish tacos of his life here. And he was right. The fish is fresh, tender and flaky, and well seasoned. They were different than any fish taco I've ever had. They were served with three different sauces--hot, medium, and mild. I love spice, but I enjoyed all three flavors. They are big, meaty tacos. Not tiny. Three was the perfect number, though the fish was so light and tasty, I could have had more. The cocktail program here is INSANE. I spend a lot of time in Manhattan, particularly the lower east side. And I've had some good drinks. But the drinks in Manhattan are 18 dollars at the very best. 22-23 dollars on average. And some places charge 30, 40, 50 or more for specialty cocktails. These cocktails are some of the best, if not THE best, I've had in a long time. I'm tempted to say they are some of the best I've ever had in my life, but I'm riding so high on the ambiance and feelings of happiness, I may be a little biased. First, please know they make all of their fruit ingredients fresh. No cheap substitutes. Second, their mezcal menu is out of this world. Third, these cocktails are super duper reasonably priced, most 13-16 dollars. And for what you're getting--an absolute steal. I had the chilo (mezcal, pineapple, lemon, tamarindo). I adored the naguara (mezcal, pisco, smoked pineapple--literally--and aguave). The naguara was like a magic show, as I watched it be smoked under a bell-housing. I also had the zicatela (mezcal, grand marnier, pineapple, agave, worm salt). And finished with the El Uyuyuy (mezcal, guava fruit, hibiscus, st. Germain, lime). Somehow even the tequila shot and lime wedge at the end was the best I've ever had. Prices are great. People are amazing. Fish tacos spectacular. They have a menu teeming with fantastic fish dishes. Drinks so good I might go back tomorrow. If not tomorrow, definitely soon. The owner told me he'd spent years crafting this menu, and I believe him. The owner has also opened another restaurant nearby that I can't wait to try. This is my New York.

Relatively messy taco but good. The ceviche tostada was my favorite. The fish was fresh and tender. The tostada provided a nice crunchy contrast, and the avocado was creamy. The fish taco was okay. Not the best one in terms of batter, but the flavors were on point. The shrimp had too much batter in relation to the actual shrimp. This one fell flat for me. I did like the sauces provided on the side, and they added an extra oomph to the tacos and tostada for me. One of the sauce jars exploded when I opened it, but luckily the waitress was quick to make sure I was okay and provided me with more napkins.

The Crack - crab claws in butter served with bread

This is a wonderful hidden gem! I went with a group of friends on a food crawl and this was one of our last stops. I ordered the "crack" which is crab claws in butter and it was delicious! I tried the oysters and the shrimp quesadilla as well which were both incredible. The service is excellent, both servers who tended to our table were friendly, funny, knowledgeable about the menu, and made the experience above and beyond. The ambiance is delightful, you feel transported out of Brooklyn and into a coastal paradise. The coconut flan will come home with me every time. Wonderful experience!

Additionally, the cocktail options are nicely priced: sangria from $8, cervezas from $5 and mixed drinks from $12. The menu offers traditional Mexican fare; my favorite is the cheese enchiladas with a verde sauce which myself and friend Sally ordered. It is a very filling entree: three enchiladas, yellow rice, salad, beans in a verde sauce. The verde sauce has a nice kick to it. My friend Cathryn ordered chicken enchiladas. They also serve great tortas and my friend Virginia ordered the Chicken torta; hearty sandwich with Chicken Milanese. As an appetizer, we ordered the always fresh and delicious guacamole and Totopos. The cocktails were flowing: $5 Coronas with lime, Rainbow Margaritas, Sangria and a Rye Smash. The music selections are always great and had us bopping as we dined. No snickering. This is largely because of the sweet customer service. A three star review for more…read morelike two star quality. It is not saying much for a city that really lacks in Mexican cuisine. To say I did not give this restaurant a fair shake is like saying I only went to an ice cream shop and only ordered the cone. I went all out there, which is maybe why I received the service I received, or maybe it is because I sat next to what appeared to be my server's children. Whatever the case, I was treated well here. Onto the food. The Sopa Azteca (their tortilla soup) is a nice change from what I had at a previous Mexican restaurant. I would like the portion to be bigger and more meat in it, but I like the Mexican spices and the variety here. It is quite enjoyable. The Queso Fundido should be called a Queso No Divertido. It was awful to eat, with lousy flavor and texture. This is the second time I have struck out with this appetizer. It is safe to say I am done ordering it in this city. Nobody does it right. The Paella is nice, but at its core has the essence of a nice dish. Some parts are full of tremendous flavor, and some parts are dry and bland. I ate this all out of necessity, and also because once I mixed the bland with the good it actually turned into something quite pleasant. The chicken enchiladas I ordered because it would not be fair to come here and pass up something Tex-Mex as an entree. The chicken is inconsistent, well cooked in some spots, dry in others. The salsa verde has a lot of kick here, but the side salad and charro beans nearly ruin the whole thing. At least the Mexican rice is fluffy and has great flavor. Speaking Spanish to the staff helped curry points in the service department. I like family owned businesses. Everybody was busy and on point. So what if the food does not wow, I have given more, for less. Hence why this is a three star review and not a two star review.

Every visit feels like catching up with an old friend who knows exactly how you like your salsa. That consistency is as comforting as it is rare in the city that never sleeps. Before we even flipped open the menu, they slid over complimentary chips and pico de gallo that set the bar impossibly high. The pico was bursting with bright, tangy tomatoes and cilantro, and those homemade chips were the perfect balance of crisp and salty. It was the kind of welcome that makes you cancel your other dinner plans on the spot. I went for the Taco de Birria made with brisket, and I swear the richest consomé I've ever tasted lived up to its name. Each taco got dunked into that deep, savory broth, then inhaled faster than a greased pig at a county fair. By taco number three, I was pretty sure I'd found my soulmate in molten cheese and slow-cooked meat form. 'The Man' ordered the Chicken Mole, which came with a generous scoop of rice and beans on the side. He sat back, took that first bite, and basically entered a state of pure food-induced bliss. Watching him lose track of time as he devoured every last drop of mole was its own kind of entertainment. We washed it all down with a Piña Margarita, along with another cocktail that leaned so hard into the tequila you could almost feel the agave fields. Add a Modelo on the side and you've got a drinks menu that doesn't play around. These aren't dainty sips--they're the kind that could very reasonably put hair on your chest. Service here is so personalized it's almost telepathic. We never waited more than a second for a refill or a check, and the staff felt like an invisible waitress on standby, ready to swoop in the moment we so much as blinked. We left a hefty tip without hesitation because they earned every penny. Las Margaritas on 3rd and 92nd isn't just our go-to--it's a staple. Whether we're craving tacos at home in our pajamas or settling in for a full sit-down dinner, we know they'll deliver every single time. Consider us regulars for life.

We decided to go for their bigger dishes and share it family style. We took their mixed grilled platter and their seafood mix. We also had their Sarava salad, cheesy bread and tuna tartare! All great! The drinks did not disappoint either. Some great craft cocktail choices. We actually saved room for dessert this time and tried their banana crème brûlée and Brazilian carrot cake - YUM!

The waitress her name was Jennifer, she was very nice and accommodating. I didn't experience any attitude or rudeness from any of the staff which was good. My only complaint is that she didn't write down our order which in turn got our food all wrong. I ordered the burger well done, my chick ordered hers medium. Well I ended up with the medium and she got the well done. We wanted cheddar cheese, well we both got swiss. We wanted truffle fries and we both ended up with regular fries. So yeah this pretty much goes down to not writing exactly what we wanted and us getting whatever food they felt like giving us. I would recommend next time to please write down customers orders so that the paying customer gets exactly what he's paying for. I will say again the food was very good but they screwed up the orders. Will I go back, I don't know but I hope in future they write orders down so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Happy hour every day until 7 pm - with multiple drink and food items priced at $8. the decor is dark and sexy, full of velvets and nice artwork. id come back for the secret lounge in the back. the bathroom is clean and nicely decorated too. When we got here, I guess everyone else had the same idea because it filled up. the service slowed down after we placed our order, but there was only 1 server working the bar. the $8 happy hour espresso martini hit the SPOT and was refreshing too. they have a few craft beer choices on menu too. The Gambas is a must get. i think i counted 6 plump perfectly seasoned grilled shimp on a bed of sauce and toasted crustini. Grab the mac n cheese bites! my date loved them (they can come with sausage or without). i sampled the mac sauce on top and thought it was pretty good. the 5 wings on happy hour were messy, but delicious. i tasted the honey but not the chipotle. it might need a hint of more heat if they wanna call it chpotle. would come back in a heartbeat.

But when I was seated, the waitress forgot to mention we MUST scan the QR menu from the table - after I ordered i immediately informed the waitress then she told me they will need to look for it or I may need to cancel my order, but the app I ordered from dont have that option. I have to ask the waitress twice and still didnt tell me if they find it or not. I have to look for another person to find out if they find my order. Also, the app charge a "cheqout fee". I asked the staff how to avoid this fee she suggest to link my bank account! (no way!!!). I can pay cash, we just have to order differently and let the staff know, but the staff there doesnt give any instructions until it was asked. As for the food taste - disappointed!! order the fried chicken - tender but soggy not crunchy or crispy. service - once u are seated it is hard to find them. they will not come by and see if we need anything else. i really didnt want to tip them. but i still did.
