I went there for breakfast on a weekday. The food was good. I had an omelette, which seemed a bit undersized for a "3 egg omelette," but it was well prepared and tasted great. The hash browns were cooked right and weren't greasy at all. The coffee was good too. The staff were friendly & the service was good. This is a small place that seems to be setup for takeout, but they do have a small seating area to dine in. I can imagine that it is crowded on weekends. read more

Alright. I think not having been here since 3 years ago calls for an update. Don't worry, this one will be short (sort of). No need to change my original rating because this place is still great! Which is really impressive, considering some of the staffing challenges they've had in the past. Of course, I only know that because my best friend used to work here. Still, every business has its ups and downs, so we'll move on. Last time I just had breakfast. But one thing I didn't talk about more was the lobster chowder. Or as they pronounce it in Massachusetts, "lobstah chowda". ;) Note: this is not part of the regular menu. It's a special that the owner makes on occasion. And if you ever get the chance to try it, lemme tell ya....this will knock your f**king socks off! Easily the best damn thing in soup form I have ever tasted! A solid 10 out of 10, would recommend for sure. You may even wanna call the owners up ahead of time to see when they're featuring it next. Also decided to try the Angus burger since it was technically an early dinner for me. It was alright. Not really cooked to order temp wise, since they automatically seem to cook all their beef mid-well. Despite it looking suspiciously similar to the meatloaf sandwich and also lacking a bit of seasoning, I kinda liked it irregardless. There's a certain subtlety to the flavoring. They serve theirs on a ciabatta roll. This one's a 7 out of 10 for me. It's always satisfying to see the local businesses thriving after all these years, especially on the back end of a major economic downshift. My friend and I had a delicious lunch at The Kitchen after a walk on the Rail Trail which is literally around the corner. The Kitchen is a cozy place with a gift shop that we enjoyed browsing through. So, you order at the counter, pick a canned/bottle drink from the cooler, choose a table. The food is delivered to the table. It came out quickly. I had the special sandwich which was Crispy Haddock Filet on Ciabatta Roll with lettuce and Tartar sauce. It was delicious. I really liked the side of slaw. It also came with a pickle and fries that were standard. My friend had the Chicken Salad Sandwich-she said it was very good. It came with a bag of chips. There are baked good that looked very tempting. The restroom was spotless. The employees were friendly and efficient. I look forward to returning and recommend The Kitchen at Windham Junction without hesitation. read more

Never had a bad meal here. It's been a while since we've gone to Windham Junction, probably a year or so but the quality has not dropped. I grabbed a meatball sub while my clone got the kids chicken fingers. Both were excellent. He was more excited for chips, but the chicken fingers were good too. Word of advice, if the weather is nice, make sure you have someone reserving a table with some shade because those go at a premium. You can sit inside, but why would you when it's better outside? I don't really stray from my usual so I can't say if the other sandwiches are better, but the meatball is a must. read more

Service was super slow but the food tasted very good. They have breakfast and lunch items and it's only about a 2 min walk from the windham rail trail. I wish the seating wasn't right on the corner of a busy road but overall I really did like this place! read more

Four stars because of cuteness. It's the smaller version of a Vermont type of country store in NH Ordered two sandwiches and thought they were good. The place was "good busy". Not overcrowded and I got my food in a reasonable time. People who worked there were very pleasant and it's nice to see (what I think is) a local business doing well. I eat here at least once a week! The food is very good. Love of food and flavors as more than just sustainence is present in every bite. The soups are enough to keep the place thriving, they are always fantastic. Family owned and operated, Kay is the BEST, and truly cares about her customers. The cinnamon buns are worth every calorie! Dreamy! Fantastic sandwiches, caprese salad, they grill the hot dog buns to a light crisp perfection. They have great coffee, ice creams, and a gift shop that sells jewelry, NH made syrups, and independent craftsmen goods, clothing, soaps, candles, spices... it's just amazing. She has a big open house Christmas party every year. They sell Christmas trees... it's just one of my favorite places to go and it's inexpensive too! I think I'll go there now. read more

We stopped in this morning for breakfast and were delighted! What cute place. For our coffee, we were handed a hot mug and allowed self serve of several flavored coffees. Very nice! My husband had an omelette and I had the Hobo sandwich. Both choices were very good and served to us at a retro table in the front window. What a fabulous small town establishment with high quality counter order to table prepared food. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is very appropriate for the area and the staff were all extremely friendly. The sandwiches are very fresh and a very nice sized portion. The parking lot is difficult during busy times however it is worth the fuss. read more

Had a couple of warm days, perfect to eat outside, so Martha & I met up at this place after months of Zoom Cocktail hours. Found it online & gave it a shot. PRO- SUPER CUTE, Gift Shoppe & restaurant all rolled into one. A couple of picnic tables outside too. We enjoyed looking at the large assortment of stuff in the gift shoppe while we waited for our food. It's order at the counter & they give you a number. Lots of choices, salads, sandwiches, soups, baked goods & breakfast stuff. We split a Chicken Caesar wrap that was very good & came with a pickle spear & a bag of chips. Nice soft tortilla wrapping with hot chicken & plenty of lettuce & dressing. I'd go back to get that again, as well as try their breakfasts. Friendly service from the girl behind the counter. CON- Picnic tables are right along the driveway with cars passing within a few feet of you as you eat. EH... SO - For us it was sort of off the beaten track, but if you are in the area, GO! The Country Store has miscellaneous knick knacks, food items, snacks, and gifts such as fragrances, soaps, books, and jar items, I saw some Kitchen Kettle Village jellies (made with care in the middle of Intercourse, PA). The Kitchen offers Breakfast & Lunch & Dinner Specials including eggs, pancakes, French toast sticks, soups, chili, salads, sandwiches, ice cream treats, baked goods (sticky buns, coffee cake, muffins), and Citavo Coffee (self serve carafes) with an open kitchen/grill behind the counter. Daily and homestyle specials are posted on the website. There's table seating in the Country Store. All of the food is made to order at reasonable prices. Sandwiches with chips & pickle are $6.47 with tax and breakfast items are under $5. The Meatloaf Sandwich is excellent and very tasty, which is grilled meatloaf topped with ketchup & crisp bacon served on a grilled soft artisan roll. A very popular place to eat, including by those using the nearby trail trail. The selection of sandwiches and soup are good and the staff is friendly The main down side is that they are often crowded. Even then the wait time is reasonable. Seating is somewhat limited, especially on busy days. However, they do have outside tables to supplement the indoor seating. If you are cycling the rail trail between Derry & Windham, they are just a block or so to the west of the Windham junction trail access pont, where the caboose is located. read more

Unable to choose easily among the array of both unique and dependable sandwich stylings, we ordered the Grilled Reuben with corned beef, kraut, swiss and a damned fab dressing, as well as the Chix Salad with cranberries and almonds on toasted Wheatberry bread (with an equally fab dressing) and we swapped halves. Outrageously good, perfectly balanced takes on these hearty traditions. Sandwiches came with chips and pickle spear. Fresh, local ingredients abound. Drink selection includes NH-based soda manufacturer and other area faves. The food was impressive enough, but the atmosphere puts The Kitchen over the top. Cute and quaint. Nice country cafe that serves up good home cooked meals. Stopped in for breakfast and ordered at the kitchen counter. Got the stuffed breakfast sandwich ( Portuguese roll, egg, cheese, ham , and hash browns) and a cup of clam chowder. Both were very good. Chowder could of been hotter. The treat of today was that we sat outside on many offered picnic and lunch tables on the grounds. Jackie was able to join us, as they are pooch friendly. read more

The owner is simply amazing and all the staff are terrific. Unfortunately they all get upstaged by the food which has never disappointed in the two dozen or so meals I've eaten here over the last year. Very family friendly and forgiving of my rambunctious children, we go here frequently for Sunday breakfast and the occasional lunch. The poached eggs are always perfectly done, with great flavor and texture on the hollandaise sauce. The Portuguese sweet bread is also an awesome addition to a typical breakfast. If you're in the area, give this place a try you won't regret it. If you see ginger molasses cookies available in the bakery display, definitely give one of those a try too! read more
