My sis did some research and came across TKT. After reading the reviews I was looking forward to coming. Our dinner reservation for party of 6 with with a requirement of a credit card to guarantee our reservation was at 5:15pm. No worries as we're all seniors. We eat early anyway. We started with two bites, plus everyone ordered a beverage: 1) the shishito peppers were grilled to perfection. 2) deep fried zucchini - tasty but not enough for six. Because they're a small kitchen, we also ordered our main entrees at the same time as we ordered our bites. Everything was cooked perfectly. A couple folks got the catch of the day, and one ordered the pork chop. Food presentation was great. My hubby ordered the linguine with clams. I ordered the braised short ribs. The pasta is house made. So fresh. Had just enough kick to the dish. The braised short ribs was fork tender. Came with mashed potatoes. Both my friend and ordered the same dish. We each got some Brussels sprouts with our entrees, whereas my sis ordered some on the side and it never arrived. Miscommunication in the kitchen maybe? We were done eating within 1 hour, 15 minutes as we skipped dessert and coffee. The next morning I felt really famished. I mentioned it to hubby a couple days later, and he said he was still hungry immediately finishing his dinner. Food for thought - looking back, did we not order enough to eat? I've been reaching about this place and have been consistently coming for twice a week for a couple of weeks because of the consistency. But I was extremely disappointed on this evening. I always order the crab pasta and was not once disappointed in my boast until this night. It was bland, unmeaty, not an orgasmic feeling at all, and over peppered. I did try new things like peach salad and it was amazing. Perfectly seasoned, crisp, and refreshing. Baked pasta was a little on the salty side but it was definitely way better than my crab pasta tonight. Of course have to have the ravioli appetizer. So far, this was the consistent dish. The flavors are robust and can't go wrong with that running yolk when you cut into it. We were offered peppers (on the house) and that was delicious. It flavorful enough too the taste. Overall experience was a 5, but the food overall was about a 3.8. Decided to try TKT after seeing it walking around 4th. Made reservations for 7:15 and came in around 7:05 and they sat us early which was nice! Our server was also amazing, loved his energy! We started off with the raviolo uovo. This was the best thing we got! 5/5 for that. I would've ordered 3 for myself lol! Didn't snag a picture unfortunately. I myself got the fried chicken. Loved how the chicken was fried but unfortunately the chicken itself lacked flavor. The demi-glaze on the other hand was very salty. But that didn't make up for the lack of seasoning on the chicken. Overall not much of a memorable dish. I also got the side of broccoli which was okay, not much to it. Just some parmesan on top and was good. My friend got the gnocchi which he really enjoyed! The gnocchi was very soft. And for dessert we got the lemon tart. Loved it! Theres is some sort of a bias here because I love lemon dessert but I would definitely buy this again if I come back! Big disappointment. Friends had hyped this place quite a a bit. Food was average to the extreme. Butter tasted like the inside of a refrigerator (an odd thing to notice, I realize, but that's my wife), canalloni special was basically fine. Carbonara was not great. Very good to awful in a year. Used to have very good food and service. Not any more, sadly. First, had to ask for the bread 3 times......the bread they charge for. Not sure which is worse. Second, the appetizer, octopus, was bland (you could go as far as say it is tasteless) except for the over powering mint. Rather disappointing considering mint. Third, the second entree was served 10 min after the first was served. Really? When the 2nd entree (seafood pasta) it was swimming in watery broth. Obviously, the pasta was not drained in the rush to get it delivered. I sent it back. Fourth, the pasta was supposed to be spaghetti but it was the same size and taste of ramen noodles. Positively revolting. Rather disappointing to see one of the only decent restaurants in San Rafael go down hill. I am not going back lever. I have reviewed restaurants for national publications for over 30 years. I wrote one of the first reviews of The French Laundry for American Express in 1994. I feel I am part of the restaurant community and always try to be objective and fair. I know what an increasingly difficult business this is. This evening, a friend suggested we have dinner at The Kitchen Table, a restaurant I didn't know. A reservation was made for 6.45. We arrived precisely on time but the hostess failed to find our reservation. The only seats available were at a small table in the street with no overhead heat lamps and a continual stream of foot traffic passing close to us, some of those people less desirable than others. No one else was seated at these tables. The food was OK, certainly not Michelin star worthy but adequate and the service was certainly good. However after the sun had gone down it became cold, very cold, so much so that my food was cold on the plate before I was even halfway through the meal. I've been in this business for long enough to know that mistakes happen. However, a good restauranteur will put out a fire immediately by offering to comp the drinks or make another significant gesture. Not here. When the check came it was for the full amount of almost $140 for 2 entrees and 3 glasses of wine. I asked for the owner who expressed surprise that I was unhappy and didn't acknowledge that the low temperature outside was a problem. He reluctantly, after strongly expressing my dissatisfaction, reduced the bill by 20%. It was too little, too late. His attitude suggested that I was the problem and no, I didn't say, "Do you know who I am?" This was one of the most unpleasant restaurant experiences I have had in Marin in a very long time. It was not because of the food or the service. It was not even about the reservation fiasco. It was definitely not pleasant shivering in the cold trying to have a relaxing evening but the complete ineptitude of the owner to be able to rescue a situation that they had created was beyond belief. read more

You have to pay for bread, but it's tasty. I had the spaghetti and clams. The sauce was light and the clams were plenty. Definitely someplace I'd come back to. read more

A small but excellent restaurant. My recommendation is to make a reservation. I wouldn't expect to get a table otherwise. Try to do it at least a couple days in advance. We did it the night before and got stuck with an 8:30 slot. For starters, we tried the fried brussels sprouts (I found them tolerable, and I abhor brussels sprouts, for what it's worth), the calamari (I would recommend these), the octopus (it's novel, but maybe not worth it at its price point), and the shishito peppers (as is the case with these guys, be careful of the spicy ones hiding among the rest). For mains, we ordered the linguini with clams, tagliatelle with crab (both with handmade pasta!), braised short rib, and catch of the day (which was halibut, and was mine). In my opinion, they put a lot of care into cooking the halibut to the perfect tenderness and serving it at exactly the right time, an attention to detail that I appreciated. For example, my onion rings were still very crunchy when I ate them, despite them being served on top of wet mashed potatoes. Servers were excellent throughout. As a bonus, you can even see the kitchen working, as it is just separated from the dining room by the bar (where you should sit if you want an up-close view). It's not cheap. Come here for a nice night out, and you'll find it worth your time. read more

I feel this is one of the best restaurants in Marin County. The food is absolutely delicious and the service exceptional... and the outdoor seating area is dog friendly and has heat lamps throughout. Gregory has worked at high end restaurants in the city, and it was evident in his food recommendations and service. Everyone here was exceptional and the attention to even the smallest details definitely makes this place stand out, such as changing the cutlery between courses, not removing the plates until all guests at the table were finished with their meals and changing the wine glasses for different varieties. The dungeness crab cake had a lot of meat, but the true rock star of the appetizer category was the grilled maitake mushroom with its different textures and flavors. My partner ordered the fettuccini carbonara, and even a small bite of the dish was packed with yumminess. The seafood stew came with a very generous serving of clams, halibut, scallop and shrimp. Not sure if it was just my dish or that particular night or my palette, but a couple of the mussels in the seafood stew tasted a bit off. But the seafood stew was overall a great dish and one I'd order again. The beignets were some of the best, perfectly dense yet light all at the same time. So close and yet...? Let me start by saying Tracy's service was attentive and competent. I have zero complaints about the service and no real complaints. It was a lovely meal spent in good company. We took Tracy's wine recommendation and she was kind enough to split the pour between the two of us. Generally speaking, I could tell the ingredients were top notch. Everything looked appetizing. My only issue was with the flavor balance. It seemed like near hits all night long. The shishito peppers were served with aioli, which puzzled me. They have such a delicate flavor and the aioli seemed to drown it. On the other hand, it felt like a touch more sea salt and some lemon might have brought it out. I love maitake mushrooms, so I was excited to try them with the polenta, but the dish faltered a little with the cheese infused polenta served crunchy and grilled below these frilly mushrooms with their almost lace-like flavor and texture. The two seemed to fight, rather than compliment one another. The Dungeness Crab Cake was buttery and rich. One was plenty for us to both enjoy the flavor, but I needed every bite of the greens (which were wonderfully fresh and peppery, some citrus and halved cherry or grape tomatoes. What I really wanted was a bit more citrus on the plate to cut the salt and richness of the crab cake. The carbonara was good. The pasta tasted housemade and was a good effort. I have a memory of the first time I ever tried carbonara in San Francisco about twenty years ago that the dish always competes against, so perhaps it's not fair to try to hold anything up to old memories. Ideally, the dish is the quintessential comfort food: eggs, pancetta, fresh pasta, shallots and parmessan. The real trick, to me, is keeping it light. Fluffy eggs, the shallots and pancetta not allowed to take over, but lending depth of flavor. This... missed that mark, but was nevertheless delicious. The asparagus seemed to be missing their lemon vinaigrette. They were grilled and seemed a bit dry. I love the idea of letting the flavors of the vegetables come through, but they were missing the right setting, the right accoutrements to make them sing. And, finally, dessert. I have a SWEET TOOTH, so I'd picked out the Marscapone Cheesecake that morning while I was still sipping my English Breakfast tea and perusing the menu. I love Marscapone and was looking forward to its gentle richness. I was prepared for it to be less dense than the usual cream cheese variety. And then (duh-duh-da-DUM) I bit down on the crust and thought, what?! This luxurious, creamy topping was lined by a crust with all the charm of cardboard. I'm terribly sorry. I wanted to like it, but I couldn't figure out what it was. I understand the desire to be edgy and original. I knew with the Marscapone, the chef was trying to avoid forgone conclusions. I'm sure graham cracker crust or even shortbread might seem pedantic. Okay, I get it and I salute the desire to think outside of the box, but then - please take the time to taste it. The crust lacked all flavor and the texture was hard, not in a crisp, contrasting sense, but simply tough. It took effort to chew it and it didn't make me want to put in the effort. The s'mores were much better. The flourless chocolate cake actually seemed fairly airy, given that they're often dense and fudge-y. The marshmallows tasted housemade as well, if a little extra toasty. (As someone who's been in charge of finishing desserts before, I've had personal experience with over-toasting a few marshmallows in my time.) All in all, I wanted to like this meal so very much. In complete honesty, and after residing in Marin for over 12 years, I had absolutely no idea that this quaint restaurant in the outskirts of San Rafael would impress, let alone WOW our party this Tuesday afternoon. The menu varies from your normal Italian restaurant. To drink, I had the Salina Bianco. Absolutely perfect for that late afternoon- refreshing, crisp, with notes of honey, and citrus. To begin, highlights include the Ravioli Uovo which had a creamy spinach core and an explosive egg yolk that molted with the ricotta and truffle oil. UGH! Would come back just for this. Also, the pork riblets were reminiscent of food from Southeast Asia. Must I say- very impressed with how they turned out! No bones?! Wild and delicious. Also, we ordered two plates of the bread. Crunchy with luxurious butter that is salted to perfection! You can really tell the quality of food based on their butter. For entrees, highlights include the imported Mediterranean sea bass with lemon. When I first received the plate, I was slightly confused since I thought it may have included some greens on the side. Fish had a nice crispy, flaky skin and fresh white meat core. The shiitake and oyster mushroom risotto with demi reduction had thoughtful ingredients and served hot- just the way I want it! For dessert, definitely order the beignets with the white chocolate sauce. For me, just the beignets were enough to satiate all cravings of sweet. Absolutely delicious. The mascarpone cheesecake was more of a tiramisu. Slightly disappointed, since we were expecting a true cheesecake and not some pseudo tiramisu. Nonetheless, not a big deal. Still devoured it. Back when we did these things, the woman who does my hair urged me, several times, to try The Kitchen Table. I'd drive by and notice their popularity but never made it a priority and then * poof * the era of dining out in restaurants evaporated. I still haven't dined at The Kitchen Table but a friend and I stopped by late on a recent weekend afternoon and as we sat with drinks, it was apparent that they've still retained fans. The Kitchen Table (TKT) has adapted to the new reality and introduced al fresco dining at tables lining 4th Street and others around the corner. This is a nicely spread out approach for those such as myself, who remain (rightly) leery of sitting too close to others. A late afternoon cocktail - a Lime Margarita ($12) - was all I asked of TKT and it was all that I needed to gain an understanding of why the place is popular. This was a remarkably nice cocktail served to my table by a masked waiter while I was well-distanced from others I wasn't with. The combination of factors? Winning. Amidst everything, I've not yet recovered the urge to dine out but until I do, it's great knowing where a good cocktail can be found. read more

This is a corner treat in San Rafael. I now have a new resturaunt to add to my small list. Spotless clean restaurant!!! Well run-extremely organized (ie good management & experienced staff) Ordered : Fig & Blue cheese salad-was fine. Mushroom Polenta- was a cheesy delight!!! I'm talking FANTASTIC!!! Risotto-don't recommend...was a bit undercooked. Couldn't eat this one. Fresh crab pasta-Excellent dish!! Peach cobbler with a tad of homemade ice cream-yummy. The real star of the evening was the Polenta!!! I tettered between 4 & 5 stars because of the Risotto. At the end of the day bumped them up to 5 because of the overall attentive service (I'm talking spot-on) and I was asked if everything was ok. (It's not the resturaunts fault if I don't speak up and allow them to fix it. In other words...took it for the team and still enjoyed my evening). Disaster with mushroom appetizer that was overheated in the microwave and I burnt my tongue and parts of mouth badly. Still sore day after. Also, at the end, the manager asked how everything was and then asked us to leave because someone else had a reservation. It was poorly handled. We were rushed the entire evening. They advertise all their staff is vaccinated which is why we went there when a cousin suggested this business. Hunter S. Thompson, US Air Force Veteran, was fond of saying that when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. Times are weird and this place responded by turning pro. We were immediately greeted, pleasantly and professionally greeted, upon entering. We told the wait person we wanted outdoor seating and got it. As we waited for our meal and wine, which we thought was a reasonable length of time as it doesn't advertise itself as a fast food joint, we noticed the employees went far above just being professional to being outstanding, and they were even high-end professional. We watched this restaurant's staff minute-by-minute mitigate operational issues with smooth and suave planning, training and corrections, they never let any customer see their service people rush or sweat, and never allowed their service people to just rush any customer out-the-door. This business appeared clean and their bathroom was clean. Their menu was nicely varied. Their food was fresh, yummy and beautifully presented. Their food is much more American Italian and Southern Italian than Northern Italian (I prefer Northern Italian food). The buttermilk panna cotta, which is Northern Italian, a classic Piemontese dessert, was perfect. It was silky smooth and just firm with a gentle wobble, that looks appealing and tastes luxurious. I put my spoon into that lovely creamy panna cotta, then take a small amount up to slowly oh so slowly savor; then repeat. Ummmmmm um. Another in our party had pasta and pronounced it superb tasty. Pasta seems to be a specialty of this business as we noticed several others around us also order pasta and very much liked it. (I am not a pasta fan. I prefer raw seasonal vegetables and fruits dipped into Fontina cheese fonduta topped with thin shavings of white truffle (when in season), hot fiori di zucca ripieni which is pumpkin, courgette or squash flowers stuffed with a mixture of meat, parmesan and parsley which is deep-fried very quickly. As you can see in my Yelp profile, My Last Meal On Earth is Barbaresco with raw seasonal veggies & fruits dipped in Fontina cheese fonduta.) Their wine selection was adequate. We wanted a bottle of Northern Italian Barbaresco. Produced in Piedmont using Nebbiolo grapes, Barbaresco is a wonderful, dry and tannic red wine with tasty vanilla attributes. Unfortunately, none in stock. We made do with another nice wine. After we were tempted by several Barolos, who isn't !?!, we went with a satisfying Barbera d'Alba, Filippo Gallino, 2019, Piemonte (which is misspelled on their website menu), an unctuous (a rich texture--something lush, with some viscosity), overtly fruited red with structure in the sense this wine tastes much more serious and has a greater extraction of fruit and tannin. The combination of the savory wine and food meant we lingered a bit longer over our meal, flirted a bit more, pondered life, and just relax (we don't let anyone push us around to rapidly eat-and-leave). Noisy not in a negative way. More like a loving-family kitchen way.. Their prices are competitive. In stark contrast to many businesses we've frequented lately: No automatic gratuity was added to our bill; (we just don't pay any added automatic gratuity or merchant fees as we pay only for what we had bargained for upfront and received) The bill matched their posted prices. (It's a Deceptive Trade Practice when the bill doesn't match posted prices) No one at this business offered to commit fraud to reward us or pay us or compensate us for posting 5 star reviews of this business. (Under 15 US Code § 45, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has the power to stop and penalize parties "FTC forbids the use of fake testimonials as are illegal under Section 5 of the FTC Act (15 USC 45 as they are using unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce." It a crime to break official rules imposed by the FTC.) No one at this business hassled us about our Service Dog or the Veterans' accouterments we adorn her with lavishly. According to the Yelp ratings' definitions, Three Stars is "Ok". That to me is an acceptable rating of a business that does day in and day out what they are in business to do. It is certainly not a negative review. Four and Five-Stars to me is when a business goes over and beyond what they are in the business to do. Like having a Military and Veterans Discount. I would have rated them higher if they had a Military and Veterans Discount. I'll be back only when they have a Military and Veterans Discount because as a Veteran, an extraordinary 7% of the population, I don't support business that doesn't support me as a Veteran. Ah, what an experience we had tonight. And not in a good way, but instead, in the most disastrous way possible! We went to TKT for an early dinner after a day of work. We were here twice before and loved the food, wine, and service: nothing extraordinary, but good quality, quiet and straightforward. My husband ordered fish, and I ordered the pasta that I ordered the other two times: pepper infused tagliatelle, mentioning no dairy (no butter, no cheese). The wine came, and we chuckled that the pour was rather stingy: 1/5th of a white wine glass - really?!! Sometime after our dishes arrived, only my pasta had butter and dairy, and I politely pointed this out to the waiter. He said: "Let me check," He came back confirming that there was dairy and they would re-do the dish. Soon after, he showed up with a re-done dish that had no butter or cheese but... it had a different type of mushrooms. The cheapest possible mushroom (champignon) was not on the menu (see the picture) and was not an oyster mushroom that I love and enjoy. I pointed it out to the waiter again, and he said: "Let me check," yet again. He came back saying that the menu has changed and that they now offer mixed mushrooms and that oyster mushrooms are somewhere there in the mix (again, see the attached menu). I refused the dish. After some negotiations, they said they would make me a risotto, and I agreed. Thirty minutes later (!), when my husband had already finished his dish, there was still no my dish! No-one stopped by to offer a glass of wine, an apology - anything! I walked out; my husband stayed to pay. They forced him to pay and take the risotto with him. I refused to take the risotto - my husband took it back and asked for a refund for the risotto, not the entire check, stating that it was an unacceptable service altogether. And that is where the real fun began - the floor manager said that this was blackmail, that he would refund the risotto, but that we should find another place to eat and good luck with our lives!!! Like there was anything that would make us go back! Get it together, TKT. Train your staff for food intolerances, intricacies of the menu (not that it is elaborate, anyway), and most importantly, how to treat customers with respect and make up for your shortcomings as you learn to survive in the shark tank. They offer bar bites for six dollars a plate! I went with the tuna poke with greens loves it. The tuna was fresh and seasoned well. Loved it with the small arugula salad. Also went for the side of sautéed mixed greens with shallots. They were cooked perfectly however they were gritty with dirt. Will go back and try some other options. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times since moving to Marin. Some dishes I have absolutely loved. Specifically their handmade pastas; loved the burrata pasta, ravioli uovo, their carbonera and gnocchi. Their fritto miso is excellent if you like calamari, it's a bit different as it includes fried vegetables, olives and calamari/seafood. One could view this as a cheaper way to make calamari, but truly the flavors are wonderful and it totally works. Their fried mozzarella is totally amazing. A much better alternative to mozzarella sticks. I ordered the catch of the day to go before, it was ok. This is the kind of dish that may be better enjoyed in the restaurant so it has an optimal plated temperature when it hits the table. Pastas are very southern Italian style; rich, creamy, generous on the parmesan. The ravioli entrée is not nearly as good as the handmade pasta dishes but the sauces at TKT are incredible and add to the overall quality of their foods across the board. Beer and wines are offered only. Wine list is thorough and there are a lot of different selections for all types of wine lovers to enjoy. Beer list is slim but adequate with standard local craft beer selections. It's supposed to feel like the neighborhood spot and it does. It's always somewhat busy and loud, and their patio seating is nice with heaters and a nice seating area. Travis and Jacob are always very friendly and offer great service. I enjoy ordering from and supporting TKT. Definitely worth a try if you like handmade pasta. read more

The host asked us if we had a reservation and we said no but just the two of us. Couldn't be seated without a reservation and host had a snooty attitude so that place lost a lot of its charm for us. Drive by a half hour later just for fun to see if they could have " fit us in" and place was still half empty. My wife and I went to the Kitchen Table on a busy Friday evening. We went after watching a review on Check Please. The appetizers were wonderful. We had the raviolo uovo which is a large ravioli containing cheese, herbs and a egg yolk. A hearty but delicious appetizer. The frito misto also was excellent with calamari, zucchini, and a host of other delectables fried perfectly with a light breading. Our entrees, delicious, but not as impressive as the appetizers. My spaghetti with clams was puzzling. It was not spaghetti in the traditional sense. It was more like ramen noodles with yellow narrow caliber crinkly noodles. The clams were tiny miniature clams. Good, but not what I expected. My wife's pork chop was delicious and perfectly cooked. Unfortunately the accompanying sauce which was on top and below the pork chop didn't go well with the chop. The pork chop was delicious in its own and the sauce really took away from its perfection. One other gripe: the bread was not complimentary, 3 slices for four dollars. Now the star of the evening was the wine list. Very well thought out and excellent all around. The wines by the glass were superb. The restaurant deserves 4 stars just for the wine list alone. My dessert beignets were a nice end to our meal. Who doesn't love hot donut dough rolled in sugar and cinnamon? The espresso btw was excellent! One last gripe: the restaurant charges its customers 3.5% to use a credit card. I understand that the credit card companies take 2% off the top. Why the additional surcharge? A less onerous solution to the customers may be to charge 2% more on the menu and offer 2% discount for cash. read more

We have found our spot! We moved to San Rafael from the city during the height of covid and so have only just started exploring indoor dinning. We have made the rounds and feel like we have discovered our place! So much so that we are prepping to make our 4th reservation in the matter of weeks! Everything has been thoughtfully and beautifully prepared ... 100% delicious! Can't wait to continue to explore the menu. My Special Angel and I had a amazing dining experience. Katrina had the Catch of the day grouper it was delicious. It was cooked to perfection. I had the spaghetti with Manila clams. For dessert we had the buttermilk Panna Cotta and Beignets. Can't forget to mention the wine the sancerrea , hippolyte reverdy both beyond description. Our server Abigail is a very polite professional young lady. We hope to have her serve us next time we return. We definitely found a new favorite. After several sublime meals here, I figured it's time to post a review. This is our favorite San Rafael restaurant, and in the top 3 of Marin. The food is always fresh and thoughtfully prepared with care and creativity. The menu changes slightly each time we go, and never disappoints. Last night we ordered the polenta and mushroom app, the tuna crudo, the risotto and crab, and the halibut special. I recommend each of them highly. The only somewhat not stellar comment is that the risotto could have used more crab. There were very few pieces, but the ones I had were delicious. Even with spare amounts of crab, the risotto was flavorful on its own. They should put it on the menu and just not include the crab. It's that good. The service is always impeccable. The staff is the perfect balance of professional, warm and friendly. read more

When I arrived at the restaurant and saw how busy it was I was really optimistic. A quick look at the menu was encouraging and the wine list is excellent. Unfortunately the evening turned into quite a disappointment. Somebody's palette was off, my arugula beet salad was so salty that while I was able to pick out the beets and the goat cheese, the dressing on the leaves made them inedible. It was clear that I had not been able to eat the arugula and when I let the waitress know she said she would talk to the kitchen. She came back and said they were remaking the dressing, I had assumed they would not charge me for this given I hadn't eaten it, but no I was charged. My entree was the pork chop, the actual cut of meat was superb but once again the sauce was oversalted as was the chop. My partner had the cannelloni, it was okay but the sauce that came with it was very watery. We ordered the Beignets for dessert and I will give them credit, they were quite delicious. Overall I cannot say I was impressed, the entire experience left a lot to be desired. read more

What a fabulous addition to the Marin food scene. Upon arrival the hostess was pleasant, smart, efficient and on top of it. Every touchpoint after was equally superior to most restaurant service staff. The food itself was just as superior. Quality food for a very affordable price. TKT has posted a policy that customers may only stay at their table 90 minutes. Although the front of house host was lovely and our server knowledgeable and professional, we felt pushed out; including being asked to take dessert to go (it was a table for two and a birthday). Their bar and parklet appeared to have space and we asked if we could eat dessert at either spot. Someone intervened and our desert arrived with a candle. Check was laid down swiftly. Great overall experience. We tried several appetizers and pastas: Fried shishito peppers - 3.5 - well flavored but some are spicy!! Beware Fritto misto - 4 - not chewy at all Grilled octopus - 4 - good octopus flavor and meat was tender - not very much, just four little slivers for $15!! Fried brussel sprouts - 4.5 - wonderfully fried and tasty Tagliatelle with scallop - 3.5 - good scallops but small - tagliatelle cooked a little too long Spaghetti and clams - good clams, a little chewy but more in a satisfaction sense Grilled catch of the day (halibut) - 5 - excellent fish, cooked well, tender, juicy Braised short rib - 4.5 - very tasty and tender meat - a bit too much sauce Kitchen s'more - 3 - good taste, not overly sweet - tiny!!!!!!! Buttermilk panna cotta - 4 - soft and milky - not overly sweet - more on the yogurt side than ice cream Service - 5 Everything had a pretty big portion and we were very full and satisfied afterwards. We did not get the fettuccine carbonara but we heard, as other reviews have stated, that it is very good. Recommend making a reservation a day or two in advance.
