a table and chairs in a restaurant

Came here about a week ago as I was in the area. I ordered the regular bibimbap. Good portion size and tasty so it was good value for the money. I also got the customary Korean side dishes including kim chi. I received complimentary glass of water as well. The server was attentive and came to me a couple of times asking me if I needed anything. The washroom was lovely, clean and well taken care of. I always appreciate when places do this. I would definitely come back here.

Such a cozy Korean restaurant serving up quick and delicious eats in the Point Grey area! There are quite a bit of restaurants around Sasamat but this one has to be in my top go to favourites. Service is prompt and friendly and the menu is diverse for a smaller place. I had the standard Bibimbap and my friend had a soup, we both loved our meals. The beef was well flavoured, and I loved the large portion of veggies, but the standout was their kimchi - I love a spicier kimchi and theirs is definitely on the hotter end. All around solid spot if you're looking for Korean in this neighbourhood!

Had take out from this small home style restaurant on a Friday night. Typical Korean style dishes. Small selection on take out menu. Even smaller portions on arrival. We had the Mandy dumplings, bulgogi beef, bibimbap and potato noodles with bulgogi add on. Flavours were as expected for Korean restaurant. Too small portions. Not a repeat for me given vast selection in Vancouver.

Cosy Korean restaurant, with warm comfort food. Loved my bulgogi on hot stone, and the rice was perfect. I had a really good experience with the waiter who provided excellent service. Will be back for sure, it became my new favorite Korean restaurant in the neighborhood

Bear in mind that the portions can be very lady-like (AKA "small") so if you have a few people in your party it is best to order one or two dishes more to ensure everyone has enough to eat. For instance, the BBQ Squid comes on a shallow stone plate that is sprinkled with a few chunks of squid mixed with a shy portion of grilled vegetables. The Pork Bone Soup simmer with few chunks pork bone and very little meat, albeit the meat is flavorful and tender. Nonetheless, the dishes are still very good and good valued for a neighborhood restaurant. Cheerio~

First time there, very crowded at weekend dinner time. The food was good, except the delivery was a bit slow. Would like to try again for the soups and hot pot next time.

Probably the worst tofu soup I have ever tried in Vancouver. Over priced for what it's worth. Will not be visiting again.

We walked in with 5 people and no reservation, but were able to get seated immediately in one of their large tables in the middle. Between the 5 of us we ordered the bossam, spicy galbijjim, seafood pancake, and stir fried tteokbokki. This was more than enough food for us. They also gave a few banchan and bowls of rice. The bossam and seafood pancake were stellar - probably the best bossam I have ever had tbh! The meat was so tender yet flavorful and the sides made the perfect wrap. The seafood pancake was extraordinarily crispy and delicious with the sauce. While the galbijjim was good too, I was expecting the short ribs not the large back ribs. The tteokkbokki was just average. Definitely worth a stop!

Highlights for me were the seafood pancake--thick, crispy, and loaded with seafood--and the bossam, which was delicious with all the proper accompaniments. The japchae was my favorite: chewy and not overly sweet, which is refreshing compared to many Korean restaurants in NYC. The dumplings were good but fairly standard, nothing standout. We also had mackerel, which looked good, and the tteokbokki came with beef, which the kids loved. Despite all the food, my son only ate white rice--sigh. Service was very kind and attentive. They brought kids' plates and utensils without us even asking. Would definitely come back.

This unassuming stall inside of the Robson Public Market brought my tastebuds back to Busan…read more Both the chef and cashier were super helpful and nice. They answered all my questions and offered recommendations, and were very welcoming. Nam San seems to be very popular for their Soondae (blood sausage). However, I've never really tried Soondae before and I was feeling nauseous on the day of my visit--so I opted for something more mild and less "adventurous" instead. I will definitely be back to try their Soondae next time though. Daeji Gukbap 10/10 This boiled bowl of stew was exactly what my upset tummy needed. The creamy broth warmed me right up and soothed my stomach so well. It was the only thing I was able to keep down in two days. There was also a generous amount of tender and flavourful pork inside. This bowl of stew honestly reminded me so much of the one we tried in Busan. Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes stews. There was no gaminess at all, and yet the soup was still so full of flavour. Absolutely delicious. Have you guys tried this hidden gem yet? 10/10 ‍10/10 $ ($15-$18/set) Nam San Korean Cuisine | 1610 Robson St, Vancouver

So this place now operates under the name Nam San but is still an absolute gem. One of the three…read moreremaining stalls in the Robson Public Market food court, Nam San specializes in pork offal and homemade Korean blood sausage (soondae), incorporated into a variety of dishes. I always order the same thing, a mixed pork offal and soondae soup. You can choose the spiciness level when you order but they also offer red pepper flakes and fish sauce on the side to add to taste. It comes in small and large, with a side of pickled radish, roasted seaweed, and white rice. Even with the small, you get a lot of meat in the hot stone bowl and it is so comforting. The offal is super tender but the star here is definitely the soondae. Pork blood and vermicelli with spices are encased in an intestine casing, making for a unique springy texture. It's even more tasty when you dip into their homemade fish sauce and the stew warms you to the bone. I love supporting small mom and pop shops, and with how tucked away this place is on the busy Robson strip, I'll definitely make an effort to frequent them time and time again. Please pay them a visit and try their unique offerings out!
