LOVE LOVE!!! not only are the employees (and customers) incredibly sweet and helpful, but the store is also beautiful and filled with many many different brands and yarn types. even when i ran out of yarn, they were able to fulfill a special order over the phone and the shipment arrived in store in less than a week. the yarn is reasonably priced for the quality.

    Lots of chickens!!

I walked to The Knitting Tree from LAX when I had a long layover. Walked. From LAX. Yes. (Sometimes a woman just needs a little more fiber in her life...and I didn't relish sitting for hours in an airport.) Perhaps it was the 3 miles through warehouse complexes, maybe it was the persistent grey skies or the light smell of charred city still lingering from the LA fires, but it felt like a burst of fuzzy sunshine when I opened the front door and stepped in. Two big wood tables full of happy knitters! Women everywhere, in every color of the human rainbow, many with a needle of some kind and a trailing tail of some gorgeous fiber they were working their magic on. The walls are filled with balls of yarn and art. And the chickens!! There are knitted comfort chickens everywhere! This is an oasis. If I lived in LA, I'd haunt the place, just set up a little cot for myself in a corner and take up residence with all the chickens and spend the rest of my time with the lovely people who own, run, and frequent the shop. It's just that lovely:) Btw, thanks for the ride back to the airport;)

I wanted to learn to read a pattern so I dropped in to the Knitting Tree LA. That was nearly four years ago and there is not a week goes by when I don't find myself dropping in for a class, some supplies, or enjoying social knitting. I learned to read my pattern, but I have gotten SO much more from this shop. The community vibe here is friendly, welcoming, supportive, kind, accepting, and funny. When I am out of town I miss it a lot.

See the bottom? I don't know what happened since the lot numbers all matched.

So I finished my daughter's baby blanket and boy! Was I disappointed. I spent many hours and the last of the blanket the yarn colors were totally off (see picture). It's The Knotting Trees fault that's why I kept the five stars. We all looked at the lot numbers and everything matched. So I don't know what happened. Unfortunately I can't give this blanket to my daughter so it'll go in the trash since second hand shops don't even take blankets anymore.

    Just sweet people.

Well Yarn it! I wish I was into this. Such an amazing community in this nice shop. I brought a friend whom says: "prices are great and what a selection". For me it was the wonderful way the owner and employee interacted with all the people there for the Sunday yarn gathering. So if this is your thing or you have interest this place seems like a wonderful place to visit. Just off the 405 freeway.

I'm so glad I made a special stop to go to this yarn store. The owner is friendly as well as her regulars. They have instructors with their own group that meets at the store. I happen to be come during that day. The lady approached me and was very friendly. I learned about the emotional support chicken kit! I never knitted an animal before so I figured why not. Is store is definitely a good place to checkout if you find yourself down at Inglewood!

The store is adorable and we came here for first time lessons. The kids had a blast. Annette is a great teacher with a ton of patience.
