EVERYONE knows I LOVE me a deli sammich. I promise you, it would be my last meal on earth. Something about the yummy bread, meat, and cheese just makes everything right in this world. I've eaten at the Knook a couple of times since going to work in Quincy and I love it! They have ghost pepper cheese to go with their delicious roast beef on Dutch crunch bread of course. Something different they offer is the sandwich bowl. In essence it's a salad but it's all the normal stuff that's on your sammich. I'd love to eat it to try to lose weight, but the bread has some kind of addictive quality to it. Can't wait to try the karaoke here on select Thursday's!!! read more

Limited dining choices in little Quincy but a sandwich is always a good go-to. I'm not big on sandwiches but love a good Caprese on ciabatta. Which was not to be had on this menu. I meant to order a half sandwich but screwed up and ended up with a full size. The sourdough was nice and sour, but it was sliced bread ( I prefer a roll). The ingredients were fresh. Service was friendly. Portion was generous but it was to me overpriced - $12 for a standard sliced bread sandwich and a bag of Lay's is steep but it is out in the middle of nowhere they gotta keep the doors open somehow. read more

I don't normally do reviews but after having lunch today I thought that they deserved one. Had the Steak and mushroom sandwich, it ranks with the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Sliced beef with grilled mushrooms topped with blue marble jack cheese. The flavors were phenomenal, Rachael hit it out of the park with this recipe, it was large enough that I had half for dinner tonight. Paired with a nice cole slaw you would be hard pressed to find a better lunch. read more

It took me almost a year to find (out) about The Knook. Now it is my go to spot for a great sandwich, salad, soup and the occasional dinner special. Homemade salad dressings, delicious potato and macaroni salads and the taco salad (when available, it's a special) is the best I've ever had anywhere. You can tell quality matters here and surprise, quantity does too! I get turkey on a sweet roll and eat twice. One of the best places in town. read more

Living in Quincy, we don't have much places to get food. Therefore, the knook was one of my top places to grab a filling sandwich but my past experience got me a bit upset. First off I ask how long the wait will be for a take out because it was quite crowded afternoon and they said it should be quick. So I went ahead and ordered a pastrami sandwich and 30 minutes pass to find out that they had the girl on training accidentally toss my tag in the finished tag pile. They apologized and offered me a drink and two bags chips for the mistake in which I appreciated. Though I'm not upset at the girl on training, I'm upset that they brought the sandwich out to me 5 minutes later after I asked where my sandwich was. read more

We were in Quincy for about 24 hours and we had to go twice! Not only is the owner just the nicest person around but the food is that good! We got the meatball sandwich both days and it's really one of my favorite I've ever had. The bread...ON POINT. Strong enough to hold everything into the sandwich (least messy meatball sandwich ever!) but still had great flavor and softness. Next time I'm in Quincy I'm definitely coming back. read more

Food was ok... nothing wrong with it. My quibble is with cleanliness and food handling. I sat down and noticed 3 dirty tables. The woman who I believe was the owner apologized and windexed my table and left the adjacent tables dirty. personally, I prefer a sanitized rag rather than vapors of ammonia. I also watched the food prep person perform front of the house duties at POS and go back directly to handling food. She should have washed her hands before going back to making food. I've been working in restaurant/ wine and hospitality for over 10 years and have done ServSafe training..It was a bit worrisome all the more because I heard the preparer sniffling quite a bit. read more

Waited 45 mins for food had to clients with me from out of town. Food was wrong. Had to wait 20 more mins to get right food. My client told no mayonnaise spreads and it was on sandwich she had allergic reaction had to go to hospital. Tryed to talk to the manager was told that they will not be in till tomorrow. These are good people that go above and beyond. My daughter was nearby at Feather River college sick with a terrible head cold. I tried to track down a resturant in Quincy that had homemade Chicken Noodle Soup and would deliver. The owner Chrissy called me back and said she would change the following days soup special just for my daughter. Not only did she personally deliver it but my daughter said it was the best soup she had ever had!!! Amazing place. read more
