Spent the weekend in Graeagle, one of my favorite places! Blairsden is host to Bread and Butter a cute little place to grab a bite and sit outside. The food truck is parked in a small lot fenced in with tables and chairs and even a cute kids corner. The menu has something for everyone from sandwiches on homemade bread, fish tacos, burgers and breakfast items. They have wine, beer and sodas. My sandwich was off the kids menu and even a half was huge! I ordered chips and a drink also and was given a cup with ice after asking. I would eat here again! read more

There's burgers and fish tacos and quinoa and grilled cheese...honestly I believe everyone can find something to eat. I'm in love with their egg salad sandwich. First, it's HUGE. I always save half for another meal. Second, it's incredibly freshly made egg salad, and full of flavor. Finally, definitely choose the homemade bread option. They have a cute fence around it and lots of seating places. The menu has a lot of great choices. They had a Chicken Teriyaki dish as their Special of the Day. My husband and I split it. Went there for lunch the other day and it wasn't all the best to us we ordered a cheeseburger and had it split with fries which were delicious but when the hamburger came it was rare in the center my husband took it back and she said no that's medium and you should have asked for it well done ,well we didn't know it was going to be a 1 inch thick hamburger but they did remake it for us and we were able to eat it. I was most impressed coming back to Plumas County and finding bread and butter. First things first, they have a homemade bread that is fabulous. I had a turkey sandwich and the turkey was rotisserie. So yummy. You can also order a side of berries and from my picture you can see how glorious that is. I am always looking for healthier choices and out here that has always been an issue. Not anymore! Actually go back to the city where you came from since mountain folk don't put up with a lot of bullshit and you will inevitably get butthurt at most of the businesses. I visited here last summer with my five kids. My ex-husband and I had house in Clio, but in the divorce he took the summer house and I took the condo in Squaw Valley. This summer, I needed to visit this town. Greaegle was my second home. The reason I felt like it became my home was from the hospitality that Tammy at Bread and Butter exerted. Her eatery was divine, and her menu is catered to all. My eldest son Logan (17) and my daughter Mariposa (15) came with me to visit the restaurant. We had been taking the last of my stuff from Richards house. I wanted my divorce to be finalized, and these were the last pieces of my marriage. Although I was less than a year out from getting married, I was still picking up the pieces of my past. When I drove into the dirt lot of Bread & Butter, I knew, this would be my happy place. The staff were so friendly and very kind. Although my kids were no longer kids (physically and mentally because of Richards way through this painful chapter) they loved to see the play area and witnessed a side of them that I haven't seen since our trip to U.S. Virgin Islands back in 2013. I was pregnant with my 3rd and Richard had food poisoning so he had to stay back for the whole day, I took the kids to the beach and I their smiles were so damn wide. But the only time their smiles were bigger was at Bread & Butter when we dug into our huge cinnamon roll. At that point, I hadn't started my regular fitness training and was in the climax of my binge eating disorder, so I indulged. It was delicious and I have never regretted that meal. Seeing the joy in those twos faces made me almost cry, oh how badly did I want to protect them from all this pain. Anyways, we later ate yummy bowls and sweet potato fries. Everything was so delicious and reminded me of the days of my marriage where I didn't know Richard's secrets, before I had to go back to my 9-5 and I was a happy homemaker. I loved this food, and I told Tammy and her beautiful staff that I will be praying for their safety tonight, and they told me god bless and I said the same thing back. I am so glad to have finally swung back to this place, as it is a diner I've been desperately wanting to give a second shot. Bread & Butter is located right off the highway in Blairsden, making it a very easy and convenient place to grab a bite when passing by. One of the best parts about this establishment is the seating. This restaurant is a converted food truck that serves up its fare right out of its side windows. All the seating is outdoors, with the tables all set in a nice outdoor garden-like environment with amazing views out over the valley and mountains. Stop by here on any summer afternoon, and the place will be brimming with folks enjoying the scenery as well as the food. This alone is enough to make me want to swing by yet again when the weather turns nice again. The menu is takes on American fare, with burgers, sandwiches, sides and the like. The corndogs are pretty epic here, I must say. But today I ended up with their grilled cheese sandwich, which was done up to pretty darn near perfection. Gooey and melty, on thick slices of their fluffy house-made bread. Two thumbs way, way up for this one, as taking a bite out of the sandwich helped to take a bit out of the cool, breezy, autumn day. Prices here are a tad higher than similar sorts of diners, but it is nowhere near nosebleed, and I would say it is well worth the extra couple dollars considering the quality you get, and the fact that the portions are Hefty with a capital "H". Pretty much everything is made by hand, which both makes it that much better, but can also lead to a little bit of a wait time if there is a line of people. But you can while away the time enjoying the scenery and conversation, and today I lucked out in that, being one of the last relatively nice weather days of the season, there was no wait and the order came out lightning quick. All in all, this is a fantastic little spot for breakfast or lunch, and I am glad to have gotten a chance to revisit it. We always recommend this place to Friends and Family.. we've never had a bad meal here. The breakfast is delicious and one of our favorites. However, the customer service is another story. Tammy is incredibly rude! It's pretty disappointing. Everyone can have a bad day, but after reading some of the reviews it seems to be a pattern. Sadly we won't be recommending bread and butter any more. We know whoever we send there would have an amazing meal, but who knows how they'll be treated. Since the owner sent her minions out to attack me on Yelp, let me break down exactly what happened. My family visits Graeagle every summer as they have for 30+ years. It has become a tradition in the last few years on the last day to get breakfast at bread & butter before heading home. We've never had any issue up until this experience. Yes, we have a large party anywhere from 10 to 15 people and sometimes have to arrange a couple of tables to accommodate, but since this is a self service food truck, we are very aware of cleaning up after ourselves and returning all the tables tables and chairs to where they belong. We were surprised to see sign that an 18% gratuity would be added to all bills $75 or more. I work in a service business, and believe that gratuity should never be expected but is always appreciated and based on the service provided. You shouldn't have to pay a gratuity for people to cook your food, which is literally their job. Over the years I have happily added cash tips to the tip jar as a thank you for cooking my food. When my cousin sat down to wait for her order, she realized that she was overcharged for the addition of meat to her kids burritos, she also realized that with that mistake and adding avocado to her sandwich made her total $76 which made her bill another $25 because of the added gratuity and the mistake from the overcharge. She went to the window and asked for the refund for the overcharge of the meat and the woman in the food truck began berating her and yelling about how the price was wrong on the menu (our fault?) and how the price of food has gone up and blah blah blah (we each have 3 kids are VERY aware of food prices). My cousin then asked if the avocado had not been added to her sandwich to please remove it so that she could get the money back. They said that avocado had been added as the three women in the truck started talking about us very loudly, very rudely and very aggressively on and on and on and wouldn't let it go. And mistakes do happen, but when she got the sandwich, the avocado was not there so she simply went up to the window, asked for her money back for the avocado and the gratuity when the owner started yelling at her claiming that "our group came every year and took up a huge space" ummm, sorry for supporting your business? She tried to give her a $10 bill as a gratuity and the owner refused it. All my cousin said was "I don't appreciate being yelled at". We sat down, we ate breakfast, we cleaned up after ourselves all the while they were staring at us talking rudely and loudly. The owner even came out outside, stood with her arms crossed and stared us down the entire time we cleaned up, took a group photo in the parking lot and left. On the way home I looked at Yelp to see if other people had had this experience as I was shocked by what I witnessed. As you can see by other reviews on yelp and google this is a common thing and she clearly doesn't take criticism well. I looked again later and saw that Shawn A had written a review calling my cousin "the heifer in the pink sweatshirt" so I decided to write my own review about our experience. He has edited his review many times as well as privately messaging my cousin with nasty comments. I have tried to let it go but checked Yelp again today just to see if there was anything else with my name on it and sure enough there is now a new minion who was not there at the time if the picture on his profile is correct. It's amazing that they have nothing better to do but are clearly trying to paint us in a bad light to try and protect this business which is likely a friend or family member of theirs. As you can see the owner generally claps back very aggressively to reviews on here (as well as in person) but maybe she has gotten the clue because she hasn't responded to me but sent her people out to attack me instead when I was actually just there with my family and not a part of what happened but an up and close witness. This is my last comment on this subject as it is wasted too much of my time. Unfortunately for them we all know what karma is and there's will come to them. read more

Great place to stop for a bite. It is a lovely food truck when you pull into Blairsden. It is outdoor seating only. They had plenty of chairs and umbrellas. We came on the very busy 4th of July Weekend. It was very packed but we did not wait too long considering how busy it was for the weekend. I had the pulled pork quesadilla and my husband had the french dip. The pulled pork was wonderful and the portion was huge. The french dip was great and the bread with it was awesome. They serve beer and wine there. It is a bit pricey but considering most everything is pricey in Graeagle it is like any other place up there. The portions definitely made up for it. read more

We enjoy the food there, however service can be spotty at times. Yesterday July 4th we arrived there at 2:10 PM and knew they might not be opened as they can close before posted closing times. There was a vehicle leaving but parked in a place blocking the normal parking lot in front, a young woman was talking to someone in the vehicle. After about two minutes the woman left and the vehicle left. As I pulled into the lot I realized the young woman was an employee and was letting down the shutter where you order/pick up. She could've stopped her conversation and said something like, "Sorry we're closed". That's would've taken 10-20 seconds.
