If you know what the Czech Stop is then you have to visit these guys. As a Texas transplant to AZ kolaches are a must have anytime I get back to Texas. Now people here can experience them too and stop looking at me funny every time I try to explain why it's the best invention in food ever. Also the bacon cinnamon roll wasn't something I though I needed in my life before but now I'm wondering how I've managed to go my whole life without it. read more

Drove 30 minutes to try Kolache Cafe and it was worth the drive. Never had Kolaches, and I thought it would be fun to try something completely different. Think eggs, meat, cheese, etc. as well as various fruits and custards held within a somewhat sweet bun. We got a variety of sweet and savory to try. Everything was delicious, and the person taking our order was very friendly and helpful as we struggled to decide what to choose. I would recommend Kolache Cafe. read more

This is my 2nd visit here and I dined in so that I could get some work done. Your workers are STILL extremely friendly and helpful. They all were consistently diligent in their work responsibilities. Stocking/replacing food, cleaning the food area as well as the dining room. Not once were they "just standing there" doing nothing. You have a great group of employees who are truly productive and have great attitudes and customer service. They even came and got my tray when I was done eating. I ordered my food around 11 and both of my savory Kolaches were nice and hot as if they came fresh out of the oven. They were stuffed well and delicious! If you haven't eaten here, the Kolaches are deceptively filling...in such a good way :) read more

Just discovered Kolache Cafe over the past month. Been there four times and tired several flavors. This place is great! Flavorful, super clean, great service, and lots of sweet and savory kolache options. Coffee is a bit weak and background music not my taste however love it and officially on my morning rotation. read more

So a mixed bag is the best thing I can say here. We went here two days in a row, the first day they were out of just about everything so we came back the next day. Pros: My kids love the oversized pigs in a blanket The family members that got fresh said the food was tasty The staff is super nice and attentive Cons: Of the 12 my family ordered 6-7 weren't fresh (all 3 of mine were cold) We bought 12 kolache, 1 drink, and 2 cinnamon rolls and our bill was $60 I was very ill after eating here I may try again but it will be some time before I'm over the last experience. read more

I got the #2 combo with a chicken and mozzarella kolache and also a blueberry cheesecake kolache plus a drink. It was reasonably priced and the service was quick. The savory kolache was really yummy. The blueberry cheesecake was a little dry but the filling was great. Not too sweet. Overall I would come back again! read more

Unlike most previous reviews, not only have I actually heard of kolaches, I have tried plenty. I'm originally from Texas where kolaches are commonly found. Surprisingly, the kolaches here were not bad. I would rank them great for Arizona, and about on par with those average or slightly better (eg., Shipley's, Kolache Factory) than average in Texas. They are not great. I would not bring them to family from Texas, but might share them with Arizona friends. read more

The positive is that the staff is nice. The Kolaches themselves are hit or miss. Arizona has very few good places to get these and TKC is mediocre at best. WARNING: Never ever order the sausage and gravy Kolaches. The gravy is wayyyyy too thick and is like chewing on a beanie baby, one of the worst mouthfeels ever. read more

Coming from a born and raised Slovakian (not Czechoslovakia anymore! But Czech is our sister country!) these Kolache taste EXACTLY what a Kolach is supposed to taste like! I actually called my parents crying the Bavarian Cream is chefs kiss and the smoked sausage and cheese holy moly! Brings me back home! PLEASE TRY THEM! But also don't expect a typical American taste! They're European and have that European flavor! So grateful to live right next to Kolache! We show up every weekend and it makes me so happy having a taste of home in Arizona! read more

I have been here a handful of times and love getting the sausage and gravy kolaches. I don't get the sweet ones anymore since I feel there is too much breading. The savory ones have been hit or miss lately. Sometimes they are perfect ratio with breading and filling and other times there is a lump of breading in the center where the filling should be. I recently moved to the area and tried this place for the first time and WOW. My boyfriend now wants to quit his day job and become a full time Kolache maker The food is fantastic and it's a great price. The breading is so soft and buttery and the fillings are delicious! I loved the brisket mashed potato, and my boyfriends favorite was the pulled pork with jalapeno. I can't wait to go back for the cinnamon roll! read more

Welcome to Ahwatukee! This is another restaurant that is opening during 2020. WOW! Amazing! Love the concept that is working during Covid-19. They make, you order online, they deliver! Ordering is easy. The only thing I will warn you, is possibility of selling out. We had been trying to order and FINALLY we ordered ahead of time. The order was delivered promptly to our home! I was expecting to pick it up, but no the order was delivered. DH was impressed with the Volvo Wagon that delivered the food, but that is another review for another site. hahaha. When the food arrived I could feel the warmth. The smell was also delightful. Since this place is new, we ordered an assortment of offerings. My favorite is the hot dog, because this brings back memories of making these with our kids. They thought we were genius! (You know how children are before they are teens.) Anyway the hot dogs from Kolaches Cafe are amazing. My next favorite, which I know Hurts Donuts offers from time to time, but I have yet to try those ones, is the gravy and sausage. WOW! How they get gravy and sausage and wrap it into dough is beyond my capabilities. They do a phenomenal job. I am glad we are sharing and ordered only 1. The sausage and gravy kolache could easily become a problem with me! The sausage and egg also cooked to perfection and just the right combination. The jalapeno and sausage was spicy, which I like but because I like spicy the dough and spicey did not work for me. It was still tasty and just the right mix, but for my tastes I will pass.
