I have lived by Someburros in Tempe (Mill/Baseline) for a few years, and never went in. My cousin suggested we lunch there, and I have been hooked on their green chili beef burros ever since. I have gone back for one every week this month! How could I have lived without them for so long? Somburros has a few locations, and has been a Valley staple for decades. The food is simply delicious, and just how you imagine your family would make it. The restaurant has plenty of parking, is clean and bright. I think most people order to-go food, but there are plenty of tables and chairs (inside and out) if you want to stay and eat. If you order food to eat in, they give you complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is FANTASTIC! I have been ordering by phone, and picking up at their drive-through window. The staff is always friendly and efficient. I am now a HUGE fan, and recommend this place to everyone for a satisfying, price-friendly meal! Thank you! read more

So here we were having lunch on a Monday. Haven't been to this Tempe Someburros location in a long time. We were nearly and decided to stop to grab lunch. The place still looked nice inside as always with customers coming in and going out. Though I only had the red chili burro, which comes with chips and the red and green salsa is on each table to spice to your taste. It was good to be back at this restaurant once again. I might mention that they do have a drive through as well. They also have a good variety of drinks and I noticed their Horchata drink goes fast so it must be good. This location is a staple to Tempe, so let's hope it stays around for many years. read more

Called this someburros to place a big order for pickup. Went to pickup after 30 or so minutes and they couldn't find our order at all. 0 record of the order we called in. So we ordered there in person. They messed up most of our food. The tacos tasted burnt from being overcooked and it was like they were fried in old oil. There were zero tomatoes on our tacos and they messed up 4/5 of the pollo fundido plates we ordered. Would not eat from there again. There's way better Mexican cuisine worth your money. read more

I've slept in Someburros for so long when I lived here! And now that I am back I am happy to say I tried it and the food was absolutely amazing! My mom got their enchilada plate with refried beans and I got their two taco plate. For just .30 cent more I got their asada soft taco. Wow! I wish I had another stomach as I could have eaten my entire plate. Love that both of our meals came with chips and salsa. The red and green are both yummy, with the red being a little on the spicier side. The food was full of flavor and down right delicious. Also the staff were attentive, kind, and helpful! After what was a cluster f*ck of a week I had my child's 2nd birthday party this Saturday. Sunday is his actual birthday. Let's just say a tired mom and ordering catering is not a good idea. I ordered my catering for my son's actual birthday instead of the day of his party. I told the manager there I am so sorry, if it can't be done that it's totally fine, I get it. I made a mistake and put the pickup date for Sunday instead of Saturday. Without missing a beat, she said just give me about 20 minutes or so and I'll have your order ready. I don't know if she could see I was on the brink of tears or what. But I honestly appreciate their compassion and eagerness to help me. They could have said no, they had every right to. Needless to say, I scrounged up every piece of cash I found rolling around my car, purse, glove compartment, to say thank you. You all saved my son's birthday. Husband wanted Someburros for Father's Day. Placed the order online at 5:15. 6:00 pick up. Order was ready at 7:10. Yes, just to be clear it was one hour and ten minutes after our scheduled pick up--spent waiting in the restaurant--that we got food. People arrived. Ordered. Left with food in the meantime. What took 2 hours for Someburros to make? Two burritos, two quesadillas, two orders of fruit chimichangas. I guess I'm glad this Someburros has so much business because they've lost mine. read more

I called local franchise where I got the food and ask for a refund and they said they would refund but 2 days later no refund! Sent Email to their corporate customer service address and no response from them either! My wife and I spent a month in Arizona in March 2023 and we had one goal - to eat at a different restaurant every meal for the entire month. Well, we failed, and it's all Someburros' fault. We enjoyed it enough that we ate there three times within two weeks, and we plan to visit their sister restaurant Isabel's Amor tomorrow night. We ate mostly at fast-food type restaurants for lunch each day, so our bar wasn't very high regarding the quality of food we expected to encounter. However, Someburros greatly exceeded our expectations from the moment they served our food on porcelain plates with real dinnerware. Your meal at Someburros starts out like most fast-food establishments by walking up to the counter, glancing up at the menu board, placing your order at the register, and filling up your drink glasses at the soda fountain. After that, the experience becomes more like a quality full-service restaurant. You're given a number to place on your table and when your food is ready it's brought to your table and served to you. Each meal includes a small bowl of homemade chips for each customer along with a bottle of hot sauce to use on your chips or to pour on your meal. The sauce is spicy but it isn't extremely hot by Mexican food standards, however you can request a small container of mild sauce if you wish. You'll also find small plastic cups near the soda fountain to hold hot sauce if you prefer to dip your chips rather than pour sauce on them. We enjoyed all our meals at Someburros, but the standouts were the tasty enchiladas and the green chile verde, both of which rivaled nearly any full-service Mexican restaurant we have encountered. The staff was friendly and helpful, the dining room was clean, and there are plenty of both tables and booths to choose from as well as an outdoor patio. My only very mild complaint was that I ordered an extra side of beans and a side of rice with my meal and the cost was $2.75 each which I thought was a bit high. Other than that we were very happy and we'll definitely return again when we visit Arizona next year. read more

Food was ok but the service was horrible. Last couple times that I ordered to pick up there has been a line. 10 minute wait while a white car did not move. I parked my car and went in. Said why do t you park that car and help the three cars behind it. Some kid said you came in and you have your food. Not sorry or that is a good idea. Edit: Someburros reached out to make it right. As much as I like Someburros, the last few times we have gotten food at this location, it has been rough. Tonight we placed our order in their app. Two kids meals, two entrees, and dessert chimis. Nothing crazy. We placed the order in the app at 5:17, to be picked up at 6. The app insists that you be at the restaurant ON TIME to pick up your order. So I arrive a few minutes after 6 (nooo I'm late!!) but that's ok, my order isn't quite ready yet. Phew. So I wait. 6:20 rolls around. I go back to the counter to inquire if my food is ready and I just missed them announcing it. nope, still working on the burrito. Ok. Back to waiting. It's Father's Day. It's busy. That's fine. It's only 20 minutes. Time for people watching. There's a little old lady eating by herself. 6:35. Hangry wife has texted "are you still waiting??" "Yep". I inquire again. The guy at the register is apologetic. They're still working on it. People come and go. Door Dashers wait a few minutes, get their orders and depart. Some people are also waiting, like me. Not many though. 6:55. "Just get the order refunded and get Taco Bell". I ask about my food, yet again. "Just 5 more minutes" the still-apologetic employee manning the register tells me. "I've been waiting nearly an hour, man" I plead. All he can do is say sorry and shrug. Helpless, like me. At the mercy of the burro gods. Another patron overhears and is worried that it will take her an hour to get her food too. It doesn't. Finally. 7:15. I have my food. I check it because they have not been good about including everything. They are missing the whipped cream for the dessert chimis. I've been coming to this Someburros (Mill and Baseline) for years and I really love the excellent food which is why it pains me to give them only two stars. I figured it was time. Why? they have been quite consistent over the last six months or more of getting my to-go order wrong. I'm in most Tuesday nights. My favorite is the number 8: taco, tostdada, cheese enchilada. Often they forget the taco. One time instead of the enchilada, I got a tin filled to the rim with beans and rice. I also order for my wife and daughter. My wife likes the green beef buro. Usually that's what she gets. She's gotten everything from a bean burro to a breakfast burro. Anymore I go in to pick up the order and unpack it on the counter to make sure I got it all. Last Tuesday I didn't because they were very busy and my large order was stuffed into the smallest bag. Sure enough, no taco when I got home. I can only guess the upset people who order through a delivery service go through. Those folks don't check. C'mon, guys, put some effort into order accuracy? Please? read more

To the owner of this place, please check the fish. I had fish tacos last night and one of the pieces of fish was so chewy it was impossible to eat. I figured maybe it was just overdone or something so I did eat the other taco. I got really sick about 2 hours later. Super awkward service. I ordered the taco and tamale combo, and my friend had the mini chimichangas. Server (the same guy who was working at the register and who had taken our order moments before) brought by a bean and cheese burrito. We said it wasn't ours, and he came out with my friend's food and said he'd be right back with mine. He was not right back, so after close to maybe 10 minutes, I went back up to the counter and asked for my food. It was sitting under the heat lamp for who knows how long. The taco wasn't bad, but the tamale looked as though something had been thrust through it, so I decided it was best for me not to consume it. I used to get the Salsa Verde Salad in the shell, a fabulous salad topped with tender Verde beef chunks, shredded cheese and sour cream. I see they make it in Tostada form now. I highly recommend. Back when I lived in Tempe, I took my sweet little shih tzu "out to eat" every Friday night to celebrate the beginning of the weekend. Been coming to this location since 2015 and it's gone down hill since the end of 2024. They put 3 mini chimis in a tiny paper "doggy" bag. They don't give you complimentary chips and salsa. The "jalapeño créame cheese" was watered down sour créame with NO flavor and it doesn't come with anything you have to order it on the side. Taco Bell is cheaper! read more

I've been going to this original location since 1991 when I moved to Tempe. It was my good fortune to live maybe less than a half mile away by Kiwanis Park making it super convenient. Sadly, I live in Mesa now and it takes around 10-15 minutes to drive there. This works out nicely since that's typically the usual amount of time to prepare my order. Except when it doesn't. The last time I called, the person that answered asked if they could put me on hold. Yeah sure, I replied. So I get in my vehicle and begin driving to the location figuring it can't be too long before they get back to me right? After about 10 minutes had passed, I find myself getting pretty close and I'm still on hold so that any hope of my order being ready when I arrive is completely lost. I pull into the parking lot, walk inside and notice its not particularly busy and am greeted by someone behind the counter asking, "Can I help you?" I asked if it would be more trouble finding someone to answer my call to place my order or would it be quicker and more convenient to simply order at the counter. At which point I presented my phone showing my 14 minute call still in progress. This same situation occurred during the pandemic, however, after waiting about ten minutes I hung up, called back and when they asked if they could put me on hold I instead responded with a "no" and they simply hung up on me. I'm willing to forget the whole pandemic related experience because everything was a circus back then but my last visit was just unfathomable. Are we to believe that finding a person with not only the highly required skills to put a call on hold but also the mnemonic ability to navigate back to that same call moments later a tall order these days? Is this some kind of business strategy to deliberately frustrate callers to encourage them to use the app to hopefully eliminate calls altogether and thus the challenge of finding and paying these highly paid experts? Finally, can one even ask to not be put on hold or is it still Someburros policy to either hang up or cast them into oblivion? It's almost as if takeout callers are now the lowest priority and are barely even regarded as customers. What am I missing here? read more

Someone at Someburros messed up. For the past year you have been selling several different types of refillable cups. Your employees sold them that way. On Thursday July 31 we were told that these cups are not refillable. The cups were twice the price of the refillable cup and held the same amount of soda. i like Someburros but you need to correct this. You are based in Phoenix, Arizona not some east coast or midwest city that doesn't have good options for Mexican food. I can find five other places within a half mile off this location. read more
