The coffee shop hosts a bitcoin ATM and apparently they see quite a few victims come in to send money off to telephone confidence scammers. I jumped in to help explain the issue to the poor woman who was dealing with the callers (being in IT and dealing with business security as well). So I got a really nice latte *and we thwarted a virtual robbery attempt. I didn't get the barista names but she's worth a very very large tip.

I personally enjoy my matcha unsweetened so I loved that this one was served without sweeteners, and the matcha is lighter bodied with earthy flavours. The Japanese latte is made with coffee beans from Japan, and I'm not a coffee drinker usually so I can't comment much other than the fact it tasted mellow but had depth. Look for Al, the barista with 20+ years of experience in the coffee industry. He has won competitions in HK, and seriously knows what a proper flat white is. He's usually at the coffee shop on weekdays, which is unfortunate for me since I don't live in this area. This is a coffee shop, specializing in drinks. Food seems to be an afterthought. It serves the typical bagel, muffin, biscotti and pre-made sandwiches. Located next to Indigo, the store front is totally unpretentious and makes you wonder what it sells. I had to google map it to know it's a cafe. It's a great location. Buy a book and have a coffee. Giving a throwback moment when it's common to have a coffee place nestled within the bookstore. This is the closest to getting that here. I'll definitely be telling my friends about this place. It opened last year and I hope it will continue to thrive here. They currently have their coffee roasted elsewhere but will be roasting their own coffee soon. Al has experience in roasting coffee and I'm looking forward to seeing that.
