Located in a strip mall with a furniture store and a restore, there's plenty of parking. Three of us arrived here just after 1:00 on Thursday for lunch and it was still pretty crowded. Note: they are closed on Friday and Saturday and close at 2:00. The buffet was smaller than I expected but all of the choices were great. Wish they had mashed potatoes instead of rice but I just skipped it. I loaded up on the field peas and the broccoli and cheese was great. I had to try a hush puppy and it was delicious. The corn , green beans , potato salad and limas were good too. Two of us enjoyed the chicken and one of us loved the fried pork chop. I tried the steak and gravy and it was good too. We didn't try the chicken and dumplings but they looked good . They had sweet potatoes but they looked canned so we didn't try any. We tried the ice cream cake, the blueberry pie and the banana pudding. The banana pudding won the first place prize from two of us and the second place went to the ice cream cake. They had several other layer cakes but all of us were just too full to try them. Oh, their tea is amazing and your glass will never be empty here. As southern cooking buffets go, this is about the best I've ever had. All of the food was hot, fresh, and most importantly ... seasoned just right. The tenderloin was tender, the sweet corn, yams and other veggies were delicious. Even the hush puppies and potato salad were very good and those are two things that can draw lots of critics in the south, lol. The chocolate cake, one of my favorite desserts, was moist and just sweet enough. Our server was attentive and timely. Be prepared to wait a few minutes if you come during peak times, but they prepared tables for new diners pretty quickly. Being a Wilson native and coming often to visit family, I can't believe I've never been here before ... but I will be back, that's for certain. read more

Having been a customer for several years, the place changed owners. Sadly, quality has suffered. Some of the food is still good, but corners are being cut. There is less attention to detail. Ribs cooked until they have the texture of jerky. Thick skinned cucumbers used unpeeled. Food obviously untasted. Very disappointed after paying $12+ a pound for takeout. read more

I am not a country food fan, but we needed fried chicken and when this popped up as a possibility we decided to give it a try. I was very pleasantly surprised! The fried chicken was good, especially when they brought out a whole new, hot tray. The country fried pork chops were very flavorful, the hush puppies were excellent, just about everything we tried was good. And to top it all off the banana pudding? Exceptional! Food was not to my liking. Inside was old but I didn't go for that. Service was good.

So we needed a Breakfast place before we went to our morning meeting and we got there as they opened @ 7am. I asked for coffee and water and the Coffee was not so good, no free pour sugar ( I Just dont understand that), menu for breakfast and buffet for lunch. The hash browns and eggs and toast were very good. Had pancakes and the syrup was not so good, loosen up and buy some decent syrup and coffee. the sausage provider must be the same at another breakfast place and was actually some of the best sausage I have ever had. I Like the ambiance here is the kind of place you would want to come and meet with friends and hang out drinking coffee and talking about the day. So all in Service is just not very warm and friendly and I loved my work company and breakfast was good. If you took this out of Wilson would it be 4 stars? Me thinks not but for Wilson it is great food compared to McDonald's or other chains with exception to Hardee's (Love their Biscuits) So Decent Breakfast is served here. read more

Just enjoyed the best country breakfast! And for the price! I enjoyed the one egg, tenderloin and hash browns. Omg. The tenderloin came out breaded, just like back home in Indiana. It was tender and tasty. My date had the kountry kitchen classic, we shared the pancakes and he didn't stop raving about his plate. He even suggested it's worth the drive to come back. (We were on our way to the beach). Great barn theme inside, cozy feel. We're planning a lunch trip back to try the buffet. read more

it's also been a while since I had to go out of office for lunch so it's time for more exploration! As always, I brought out my trusty Yelp app and started to look for places around the office and came across Kountry Kitchen. This was truly a surprise find because it is literally down the street from my office, and I did not know it exists for about two years, but I contributed that to the fact it is located in a rather deserted Wilnoca Shopping Center at the corner of Ward and Downing. Apparently this place is quite popular, because I came in and found all the tables filled with usual lunch folks, like grandmas and grandpas and some folks that work in this part of the town. As soon as stepped through the door I was greeted with that famous Southern Hospitality. I was led to my seat and was told "I hope you have a great lunch" before he stepped away. I got a clean table, all to myself, and a glass of sweet tea that doesn't see the bottom of a empty cup. Food wise was excellent even if just your standard course of Southern food: fried chicken, hamburger steak with dark gravy, chicken noodle (with handmade noodle into each batch,) vegetable fixings like green beans and corns. Of course no meal can be complete with some dessert like banana pudding and peach cobbler. I need to come here more often. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. It's not just the food that is "country style" but everything from decor to hospitality. The waitress wouldn't let me see the bottom of my glass of tea. I love that! You don't see that much anymore. Everyone is very friendly ...the managers, hostess, waitresses, cooks, etc. Even the patrons are friendly. I had two random people greet me that didn't even work here. I also noticed a few things that indicate this place holds good morals and values that are also hard to find nowadays. I will be returning ...often. read more

I cannot believe I've never been to this fine little country restaurant. It's definitely one of Wilson's best! The food is just like grandma would cook it, good all the way down to the soul!! If you like good 'ole country home cooking this place is a must for you! I went for breakfast and had the western omelet and the thing was so big it was hanging off the plate on both sides. It was so delicious! I chose the hash browns and biscuit instead of grits and toast to go with it. I must say the biscuit was one of the fluffiest I've ever had and delish too!! They are open from 6am-2 pm daily. I hear the lunch buffet is even better than breakfast. I hope to find out soon! read more

Traveling south on 95 looking for traditional southern style buffet food. Everything I had was excellent! Fried chicken, pulled pork, ribs, rutabagas, collards, string beans, hush puppies, mash potatoes and gravy, top it off with homemade cake. Staff was very friendly.
