Little bit of everything from the buffet.

This place has an amazing buffet. The food had fantastic flavor and just enough selection.

Just enjoyed the best country breakfast! And for the price! I enjoyed the one egg, tenderloin and hash browns. Omg. The tenderloin came out breaded, just like back home in Indiana. It was tender and tasty. My date had the kountry kitchen classic, we shared the pancakes and he didn't stop raving about his plate. He even suggested it's worth the drive to come back. (We were on our way to the beach). Great barn theme inside, cozy feel. We're planning a lunch trip back to try the buffet.

it's also been a while since I had to go out of office for lunch so it's time for more exploration! As always, I brought out my trusty Yelp app and started to look for places around the office and came across Kountry Kitchen. This was truly a surprise find because it is literally down the street from my office, and I did not know it exists for about two years, but I contributed that to the fact it is located in a rather deserted Wilnoca Shopping Center at the corner of Ward and Downing. Apparently this place is quite popular, because I came in and found all the tables filled with usual lunch folks, like grandmas and grandpas and some folks that work in this part of the town. As soon as stepped through the door I was greeted with that famous Southern Hospitality. I was led to my seat and was told "I hope you have a great lunch" before he stepped away. I got a clean table, all to myself, and a glass of sweet tea that doesn't see the bottom of a empty cup. Food wise was excellent even if just your standard course of Southern food: fried chicken, hamburger steak with dark gravy, chicken noodle (with handmade noodle into each batch,) vegetable fixings like green beans and corns. Of course no meal can be complete with some dessert like banana pudding and peach cobbler. I need to come here more often.

Food is delicious. It is a buffet but a 1st class one with home style cooked foot and seasoned extremely well. Service is good too.

Horrible food. Don't waste your time. Interior needs renovated. The staff was in a hurry to leave early.

Always a good experience when we go. Fried chicken is one of the best if not the best in Wilson in my opinion, as is the banana pudding!

Super friendly service and a warm inviting atmosphere with table linens and seating that is nicely spaced to afford you more intimacy than most places. We shared a couple of the starters: Philly egg rolls and the spinach dip with fresh made pita chips. Both were excellent. We also had the chicken wrap, shrimp wrap, Cobb salad, and the chicken salad. All of the entrees were great. My favorite had to be the fresh cut and fried potato slices- whatever you order, don't miss those! It's a banquet hall and catering business but it does a very brisk brunch business and there were three groups there who were celebrating special occasions, so it can accommodate groups of various sizes pretty easily.

This place isn't just a restaurant, it's a tradition. One of the waitresses (Ms. Marie!) has been there for at lea 25 years, and she truly makes the experience special. She's warm, welcoming, and makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. And of course, the food never disappoints. Everything is consistently delicious, perfectly seasoned, and the portions are just right--not too much, not too little. It's the kind of meal you look forward to and leaves you satisfied every time. Mayflower isn't just a place to eat--it's a staple of the community and a must-visit whenever you're in town.

We both ordered flounder as the main course. I got one spoonful of the soup and my wife ate one piece of shrimp when the main course came. So now I had to decide if I wanted to eat the soup or the fish while it was still hot. I decided on the fish and asked the waitress to just take the soup off. The waitress said this is a new system and they're not used to it yet and began to cry and said she would separate it and she would have to pay for it herself. I told her to forget it , that I would pay the 10.00 for the soup. BTW, the one spoonful I had of the soup was delicious. I just wish I could have eaten it hot, before my meal.

The store front was clear of customers and only one other was in front of us in the drive thru line. Being our first time, it was a little hard to read the menu from a car behind, so we needed to wait until we got to the window to see what they had to offer. AND BOY do they have a lot different things to offer. We decided on a double cheeseburger combo with fries and drink - total after tax about $15. Hm...okay no problem. Once you paid, you were instructed to drive around the building to the other side where you would pick-up your food once done. We waiting maybe 10 mins (if even that) and our food was brought out to us. The staff were friendly and it looked like a clean establishment from where we sat waiting. Now...the food. I can't say the price reflected the amount of food you got. The burger was somewhat on the small size, the fries were okay, and the drink was just a drink. Nothing to really write home about. Maybe next time we will try something different to have a full experience (if we are on that side of town).

There were very few options that fit my dietary needs. I ultimately ordered the ribs, but the only sides available to me were the sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts. All three items came with sauces, which made the overall meal feel overly sauced and heavy. My husband ordered the hush puppies and said they had good flavor, but they seemed like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while rather than coming out fresh. The ribs themselves were cooked well, but the sauce was extremely vinegar-forward--not sweet, but quite tangy. Combined with the balsamic glaze on the Brussels sprouts and the brown sugar and possible maple syrup on the sweet potatoes, everything together felt a bit overwhelming in terms of sauces and sweetness. For those with food allergies, be prepared to order à la carte and expect limited choices for sides. I would consider dining here again, but next time I'd make more selective choices to better suit my dietary restrictions.

I called to make a reservation about a month in advance, as we were a group of 26. The staff I worked with over the phone leading up to the dinner was friendly, helpful and communicative. They called to confirm about a week prior and asked if we wanted to create any special menus for our event, which was a very nice gesture. On the day of, the restaurant called for a final confirmation and offered us the private back room for the evening. This worked out perfectly! The food was absolutely incredible and exceeded expectations. The team all enjoyed their meals, which was a variety of orderings, and the adults raved about the dishes ordered, as well. The shrimp and grits was perfection, the French onion soup was flavorful and perfect after a cold, rainy day and the pork chop was seasoned incredibly. The waitstaff worked so hard to accommodate our large group and even helped us divide up billing, which is always a huge ask. We had a fun and scrumptious evening at an amazing locally owned restaurant! If you are in or around Wilson, NC do yourself a favor and eat at Jack's!
