We absolutely love this spot. It's probably our favorite in the packing house. I ordered the country fried chicken poutine, and my wife got the braised beef. Both were ready fairly quickly and were super hot! I started to enjoy mine and downed mine in like 5 minutes.. my wife was still working on hers, and she had also asked for more sauce. The chicken was nice and moist. It's a bit crunchy, but it paired well with the gravy. Absolutely delightful. My wife enjoyed hers but got pretty full quickly and ended up just enjoying the beef and the pickled onions. The portions were very large. Mine filled me up, and I couldn't eat anything else the rest of the night. Lol. The ambiance was nice, and there were tables on the "inside" of their little restaurant, which was pretty nice. Great comfort food. The classic poutine was my favorite. I didn't think I would like gravy on fries but it was really flavorful. I recommend eating it at the restaurant while some fries are still crispy. We also tried the smash burger which was delicious. Service was excellent especially since it was our first time there and we didn't really know what to order. This was a very well made burger. I had the Peanut Butter Wagyu Smash Burger and it was excellent. For most smash burgers I am looking for crispy, crunchy edges on the patties, and this one definitely delivered. The potato bun was soft and tasty, and the crunch from the onions added a nice touch. You get the gravy, cheese curds, tender beef, and the pickled onions really help balance the heaviness of it. I also tried the porchetta sandwich for the first time. Porchetta is a roasted pork belly. And they added the cracklings in it as well which added a great crunch. This version uses a salsa verde sauce which gives a nice refreshing feel to the sandwich. I realized that The Kroft was inside of Anaheim Packing House on the first floor after arriving - I immediately recognized the place since I always passed it and wondered if their food was good or not. Ended up ordering a cheesesteak and I also got some chili cheese fries and a couple of 24 oz beers to top off the meal. The cheesesteak was quite delicious but the cheese on the chili cheese fries was a bit too nacho cheesy for me in terms of texture and taste. As a chili cheese fries connoisseur, I would have preferred melted shredded cheese but that's just me. Anyway, I would not hesitate to go back to try some other sando's and the loco moco fries. It has been at least ten years since I've been here at the Anaheim Packing House and so much has changed. The Kroft is located on the first deck in a small area with a few tables. My friend Bang ordered the French dip sandwich and a order of the poutine fries. Mike my other friend got the wagyu burger and garlic fries. I ordered the cheesesteak and regular fries. I originally requested chili fries but they were out of chili. I asked for the hot cheeto mac and cheese but they were out of the hot cheeto powder so I had to settle for regular fries. I thought about philly or loco moco poutine but thought that it would have been too much food. Overall everyone enjoyed their food. I thought the cheesesteak was excellent. I wasn't too much of a fan of the poutine fries. The regular fries was good and crispy. The garlic fries were ok but a bit soggy. I would come back next time to try the cubano, chili fries and hot cheeto mac and cheese. However, my friend Bang is one and done with the place. The staff was friendly and professional. The wife ordered the fried chicken sandwich and as someone who was scoffing "what the hell is poutine" and "cheese curds sound disgusting", I did not ask her opinion on what version to get. Again, I chose the classic version of poutine which was fries, cheese curds and brown gravy. The food took a bit to come up, but it was not a long period of time. They were busy and I wanted them to take their time making our meal. My name was called and I picked up the food and brought it back to our table. It all looked and smelled great. I dug into the poutine first and it was HOT! Roof of the mouth burning hot. We had to let it cool down a bit, but it was hard to not grab some more and suffer the consequences. Fries cooked nicely crisp. Cheese curds very good. Star of the show was the brown gravy. I wish I had asked for more or a side of the gravy as I like a lot of sauce, no matter the situation. This was great. Please order this when at The Kroft. The braised beef sandwich was a winner. Five hour braised beef, monterey jack and pickled red onions on a ciabatta roll. Yum, yum, yum. The beef was SOOOO good. Get it and you won't regret it. The wife's sandwich was fried chicken breast, jalapeno slaw and garlic mayo all on a potato roll. She really enjoyed it and said that the chicken was perfectly cooked, so juicy chicken in crispy shell. The person taking our order was very nice and patient as we asked questions. The loco moco poutine is BOMB!! It's very filling and the wagyu beef patties are delicious. It's the perfect ratio of frites, meat, sauce, and cheese. The service is fast and friendly even though this place was the busiest vendor in the entire packing house. Kroft is one of my top food spots of all time! It's rare that I go to the same place twice because I have so many bucket list places, but I keep going back to Kroft. The katsu curry poutine is the bomb! The Japanese style curry sauce is rich, thick and a flavor blast. Creative and Great-tasting Food! The Kroft's menu was very unique especially when it came to the choices that were available for the fries. I decided on the Chicken Katsu Curry Poutine Loaded Fries and thought it was really good! The fries and katsu were perfectly crispy and the delicious curry sauce really tied everything together. All sides are 50% off from 3 to 6p.m. I missed it by 5 minutes. I did not have any entrees since I wanted to try the anti gravity noodles next door. My teen wanted Mac n cheese. A side of Mac n cheese was 5 plus bucks. She said it was just Ok but not the best she has had. We also ordered a side of garlic fries for around 6 bucks. The portions were good. The fries were actually a big hit with the teens. There was a hint of garlic. The fries were crispy. Also, they are the only few restaurants that have a soda machine with water. The Kroft is located on the first floor of Anaheim Packing House. The parking is not ideal if you want easy parking. The packing house has a small lot and street parking, but it gets very crowded. There is a parking structure with free parking nearby a few blocks over but it's about an 8 minute walk. I ordered the Wagyu smash burger with braised short rib poutine and truffle garlic fries to share with my husband. The fries are a good portion and shareable if you get a sandwich or burger as your main. The burger was good but a bit on the salty side, I'd prefer in n out over it. The fries were also flavorful but a bit on the soggy side. If it was crispier, it'd be perfect. An awesome spot for happy hour! When we got a little hungry while killing the time at the Anaheim packing district, we saw that The Kroft had a happy hour menu and decided to check it out. Their happy hour is Monday- Friday from 3-6 PM and it includes 50% off sides, beer, and wine. When we visited, all the tables in the restaurant area were full and there was a line, but it moved pretty quickly. We got our food pretty quickly too. Food: + Spicy fries (~$2 during happy hour): spicyyyy. Usually when I've gotten spicy fries elsewhere, it's been pretty mild but phew, these ones got a kick. + Flaming hot mac and cheese (~$3 during happy hour): just ok. It's pretty regular mac and cheese with crumbled hot Cheetos on top. Tastes like it sounds it would. + Cheeseburger egg rolls (~$2.75 during happy hour): I liked these a lot! All in all, a pretty good deal during happy hour. We left pretty satisfied after sharing these sides. And for only about $8?! The Mac and cheese was very watery and didn't taste like it had any cheese in it. I saw an Ad on Instagram and was really excited to try it but it was very disappointing.
