I have been there going on three years and had three different issues. First thing is the apartments are not newly remodeled. I had the upstairs flood my apartment and took 4 days before they even started work in it. The AC is always acting up Still today it is still doing the same crap. The fridge went out and when they replaced it not only did they scratch up the fridge they dragged it across the floor leaveing marks on the floor which I will more than likely have to pay for. My hot water heater busted flooded the house and not only did I have to wait to the next day to get the hot water heater but my cousin and I had to hook it up ourselves and still never got it reimbursed for parts. The the manger says she don't know what we are talking about. People don't pick up after their pets and not only do they leave trash by dumpsters they also through trash in the parking lot. Nothing will ever get done. You can't talk to the owners you can only talk to the manager on site. its Sad this place use to be really nice. read more

Your emails might as well be addressed to the eternal void. Best part is the pool they advertise as their main selling piece. Hope you like looking at the pool more than you like swimming in it. I took pictures of my ceiling leaks and talked to the manager on a few occasions. Always gave excuses why it's not getting fix. My neighbor over me moved, so I thought ok, now they can fixed it. I'm 60 year old, I've never had sinus issues. Now I'm staying with sinus issues. Must have black mold. They talked about the other manager. At least they came and fix things. It's been raining a lot and today it rain in my apartment. We like it here, but black mold is not something to play with. And pool close a lot. I want to sit in the sun. I don't care if pool being clean. I stayed out, cause it's raining a lot. Sad how she talked down on her renters, including me. All I want is for this ceiling to be fixed. ​ read more

Stay as far away from these apartments as you can. Maintenance is a complete joke. Mold will be left in your apartment unchecked. My daughter stayed in 2 different units here. Had water issues in both that she could not get fixed. Was finally evicted so they could repair the apartment. Was told she would have to find another place to live because they had no availability in the complex. Months after moving out got a call from a collection agency stating I owed $4000 for repairs. After settling on that, just got a call from another collection agency stating that we owed money for repairs on the first apartment she was forced to vacate, 3 years ago, due to water and mold. This place preys on its residents. They don't bill you directly but send it straight to a collection agency for the fear factor. Live in a tent if you have to, but do not live here. read more

This place just leased me an apartment. They made me sign before revealing the one I'm in, even though the one they showed me was gorgeous. When I asked to see my apartment, they rushed me through signing the paperwork before letting me see it since they said it wasn't ready yet. Please be mindful of the misleading advertisement while I upload photographs. I'm heading to the business bureau tomorrow because they want to charge me $2,000 to leave or make me stay for two months without my consent. Recently Sunridge Management group took over The Landing. On 1 March we received notification that Sunridge would be handling Water and Sewage billing instead of the previous company Submeter. On Monday 3 March, we received notification that we were late paying our water and sewage bill. I went to the office 4 March and the Property Manager (Branden Edenfield) found the error said he corrected it and sent us an email stating the same. On 6 March, two days later, we received another notification of being late for a different amount. I went to the office and spoke with Dory. Dory did not have a very helpful attitude was clearly not interested in being professional. She says the error is now corrected again. Would not recommend these apartments to anyone and look forward to leaving at the end of our lease. read more

I wish I could give this complex a negative rating. This is THE worst place you could choose to live. My family and I are at the point where we don't even want to go "home." The management staff is a complete JOKE. They lie to you and make you think they actually care about their residents. If you have a complaint they don't even try to resolve it. You will hear "okay, I'll put that down." That's it. That's the end of the conversation. Our dishwasher has been broken for over 2 weeks. Now this wouldn't be such an issue, but our sink is also messed up. No one has done anything despite my husband AND I both calling on MULTIPLE occasions. We have called the office. We have gone IN the office. We have called the parent company that owns this complex. NOTHING. We have loud neighbors. Not the bearable kind. The kind that make you literally want to blow your brains out. Apparently the rule here is 3 noise complaints leads to eviction. We have 2 years of complaints...yep, you guessed it, they're still here. Our downstairs neighbors smoke pot in their apartment. Not a little. So much OUR apartment is the set of a freaking Snoop Dogg video. I'm prone to migraines due to light and smell...so imagine my pure glee when I get home from a long day at work only to be thrown straight into a debilitating migraine because SOMEONE else is doing that in ANOTHER apartment. We have complained many many times and they keep STRAIGHT UP LYING saying they will take care of it. And it isn't just us having this issue. The SECURITY guard is having the same issue. Let me also say our lease agreement states ILLEGAL USE OF DRUGS IS GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATE EVICTION. Okay, funny joke. Don't be fooled by the staged photos of this complex...they're trying to suck you in and make you think this will be a wonderful place to live. The management doesn't give a crap about you and neither does the parent company. If you sign this lease YOU'RE STUCK unless you want to pay thousands of dollars to get out. It's HORRIBLE. I've lived here for 5 months, and every month is a new issue. Sarah, one of the office workers, is super rude and condescending. She has no people skills. We never feel able to ask questions or go to the club house. Though Sam is amazing. Parking is ridiculous - they suddenly towing guests vehicles who are correctly parked in the guest parking. I have have 4 friends towed and it's always for something different. At one point the cops were called and even they said it was ridiculous. The towing company walks at night, flashing lighlights in all vehicles, rubbing against and wiping the car's windows. This is the worst apartment complex I've ever stayed. Belmere is way better! I highly recommend NOT renting an apartment at The Landing Apartments on Bayou Cane for many reasons. They are extremely overpriced. Unfortunately my job relocated me to Houma and I wasn't given any time to drive down and do any real apartment hunting. I wish I had the time to find someplace cheaper. The Landing had a decent online presence. The repeated barrage of online advertising caught my attention; however, from the time I made my initial inquiry to the time I decided to call to check on my application (a few days) the person I had been in contact with had been fired. And that should have been my first hint that things were not as they should be down in the adorable little cottages on Bayou Cane. The staff is entirely incompetent and has an insanely high turnover rate. I lived at the Landing for a few years. The staff in the office turned over several times before my departure. I run a business and have had to fix or rehab ailing locations. If my business had the same turnover as The Landing, I'd be out of work and broke in a heartbeat. The Landing is run by a much larger corporation with holdings countrywide. Thus, they're able to shore up their dilapidated, shoddy locations with money earned elsewhere. The staff WILL lie to you. Do not trust the folks in the office. Their entire reason for being is to scam you out of as much of your money as possible. They will be rude to you, they will condescend, they will make your life miserable... all so they can make their parent company as much money as possible. I don't recommend moving to Houma at all, but if you absolutely must and if your only options are living at The Landing or turning tricks for Big Jerry so you can sleep on the couch underneath the big oak tree in his front yard... I'd choose Big Jerry's outdoor lounge every single time. read more

Funny that this happens the day I thankfully move out. I have been living at the Landing for a year. Never had a serious issue till recently. I lost power to my unit (not caused by the apartment complex) for 4 days and 3 nights. It was a nightmare! The staff, specifically Claudia was very helpful in helping me correct this issue. She welcomed me with a smile and made calls to help resolve the problem. She went above and beyond what I expected. I will gladly renew my lease and look forward to living here with my family for years to come. I would like to thank the staff for all they did for us. read more

Do not visit this complex, you car will be towed for no reason, even if parked in the correct location! And the office has banking hours! Never open when you need them! And once you do speak to them "jimmy" will explain how they like to trap, visitors with no warning of there parking rules that are not posted! And even if you park in the correct visitors spot where there is absolutely no lighting or sidewalk area you can not back into the spot. Because they will tow your car! And the only response is the person u visited should have told you! And let's not forget their customers service skills are lacking, just pathetic, would not recommend anyone to live there or visit there! Not to mention the rules don't apply to the 18 wheeler backed into the front of the gate, nor does it apply to their cops that live there and the tow company told me they are only allowed to tow after hours not during the day! This place is the worst place I have ever rented from. When we moved in they informed us we wouldn't had to pay submeter 1 that it came included with their contract with that company. We needed up having to pay for all 13 months that we were there. Then a few months into us living there they decided to change the parking rules on us without informing us, multiple times. 6 of our friends got towed over the multiple times they decided to change the rules on parking. Even I got towed from my own apartment complex because they changed the rules on where we could park. They basically told us sucks to suck after we got towed even tho we weren't informed of the rule changes via email, on the email list that we weren't on. Over the course of our stay the refrigerator stopped working and spoiled all of our food, several times. The a/c went out multiple times so that they finally replaced it we went without a/c in the middle of summer for almost a week. It took them several weeks to fix our washer and dryer so I went to work with damp clothes multiple times. And to top it all off their move out charges are insane. They dropped a 1000 dollar move out cleaning charge into our lap. This place is the worst. I would give a negative 5 stars if possible. read more
