On a recent call in order, we went with…read morethe chk frd stk. dinner, I suggest everyone try the whatever else till they decide to buy a better cut of meat , it was like chewing small, long, stringy, round, rubber bands and in between the rubber bands was a severely leather cooked, fried to perfection, can't cut through with a knife steak. Everything else was pretty good, mashed potatoes w/ wht grvy, corn, mozzarella sticks but there's something seriously wrong with the steak when you start looking forward to eating the fried concoction surrounding the steak during the meal.... you know what I'm sayin, I'd still be chewing that steak this very day ‍‍. Then... (clearing throat) let's talk about the catfish dinner w/ fries and slaw, I'm trying to be generous by saying it was a complete disappointment. The fries were wet, cold and undercooked and the coleslaw was warm and limp, completely disgusting even our cat debated eating the fish that wasn't eaten. It will be a minute before we order dinner again from Pistols I'm giving 2 stars, one star for each dinner, it was just sad. For the positive, the dinner roll was soft and warm, the mozzarella sticks were knocked outta the park, never tasted better If you are reading this review... we suggest to sticking to just breakfast at night hire a better cook, change the meat you are currently serving because there's no value in chasing away customers over bad cooks, lazy food checkers and crappy choices in food sourcing. The chicken fried steak was a nightmare past the awesome fried covering you dip it in, just down right inedible. The fish is awful and overcooked and your fries are undercooked, seriously what's going on there at night ??? cause it isn't cooking food correctly or even being checked before leaving, does anyone there try tasting what you're serving before you serve it??? EPIC IDEA

My chicken fried steak was hand breaded & huge! They were out of lots of appetizers and sides like mozzarella sticks & French fries. But I tried fried mushrooms, and they were good. The interior is eclectically decorated and there's pool tables, shuffle board, and a few video games to try after you eat. This is also a great music venue featuring local and area artists. (Down Low was there the night we visited.) Although it was getting a bit busy, service was friendly and fast (with some other staff helping tag team drink service and food delivery). We tried the appetizer special: artichoke spinach dip. Better than average. We tried the Kansas City Strip and the Nashville Tender Mac. The steak came with two sides. One we chose was the baked potato. It was HUGE and came with a basket of every topping you would ever want: butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits, and green onion. Seriously, the accompanying side salad and this potato would have made a meal. The mac 'n cheese was huge as well and was topped with two ginourmous pieces of breaded chicken doused with a delicious (and spicy) hot sauce. This was enough to split into two servings. There's no beer on tap but F-5 was available in cans so all was well. I had the Spicy Limonata cocktail. It was refreshing but could have benefited from some extra sweetening. This is definitely has a neighborhood feel and we plan on visiting again.

Ironically I got to meet the family that took it over and they are great people whom I believe will revive this place. The service was great and had no complaints on that end. Always friendly and welcoming. Now to the food. I got some appetizers such as the jalapeño pimento cheese dip and cheese curds. It was as expected. I ordered the prime rib, which is what they are supposed to be known for. I ordered my prime rib medium rare and it came out well done. Prime rib is usually served with a horseradish sauce but I didn't get any. I asked for a side and my server came back and said they had to make some. I had no problems with that, but when the sauce came out, it tasted way closer to tartar sauce than horseradish sauce. Truly, this was the worst prime rib that I have ever eaten in my life. I am hopeful the new ownership will turn things around for this iconic spot.

Absolutely the worst manager on the planet. Customer Service is not in her vocabulary. Excuses and crappy management are her strength. I also witnessed her telling people how to manage the bar, and it's clear she either doesn't understand how to run a bar or she just likes to put useless rules in place... once we decided that we were not going to let these two ruin our night, we walked into the bar and met Ben and Max... the entire evening flipped. Great customer service, phenomenal attitudes, great recommendations and fantastic drinks... we decided to eat at the bar where we felt welcomed and could have some fun... sure glad we did... I NEVER tip any less than 20% no matter how bad or borderline the service may be; but for tonight's less than regretful experience at Road Hog Saloon, I had to make an exception. Arriving arounf 7:20 pm, I immediately noticed a smaller than normal crowd and took a seat at the bar and ordered iced tea from one of the two bartenders present. The more elder one took my order which was a rib eye medium rare (seared on the outisde with a warm red center), loaded baked potato (with extra butter and sour cream), and corn. To me, a very simple, straight forward order. After placing it, I turned my attention to my phone since I was trying to figure out my schedule for the rest of the month since requests were made for my time. I hear the bartender that took my order cuss and scream something and storm off to the other side of the bar which prompted the other bartender to address the situation. Customers came and went and my order finally arrived. Knowing how well Road Hog Saloon seasons their steaks, I had no reason to worry about the flavor and started to cut in......to what should have been a tender piece of meat that would give way to streaks of juices streaming out of it; instead, I was trying to cut through what felt like a strap of leather. Inspecting the piece I finally freed from the husk, I saw a mostly brown strip with the slightest hint of pink in the center. I set it aside for the opportunity when the bartender might swing by and ask how everything was and started in on my side items. When I was almost finished with my baked potato, the bartender finally makes eye contact with me and I told her that the steak was a little overdone (which was a gross understatement). To this, she snatches the plate from the bar top and bee lines to the kitchen. I didn't catch all of the conversation, but I did hear her finally say, "just drop it rare then!" She comes back to me and argues with me that the steak was medium rare and that is how they cook it with a pink center (but all the previous times I ordered from this establishment, it was seared with a warm red center). She says nothing other than, we are going to make it rare for you then. Time passes and I am about ready to just give up, ask for my check, and leave when the other bartender brings out another steak looking extremely under-seasoned and asks me to cut into it, which I did, and just wanting to put the evening behind me; I told her it was fine. Upon inspection of the new steak, I was amused to find that it was at least 1/3 fat and gristle and separated as much of it as I could for a side by side comparison (as pictured). Completely giving up, I just asked for a box (I have enough faith in my cooking skills to salvage the "steak") and my check. When she finally hands me my check, I noticed that the individual ordered items were not listed and I asked for an itemized receipt so I could turn it in for reimbursement from my employer. She then yells at me that she cannot produce an itemized receipt and what do I want her to do? Hand write the items on the receipt?!?!?! I decided to cut my losses and handed her my card and said I was done with her attitude and I just want to leave. She shoves the receipt with $35.01 at me and takes my card to run it. I get back a credit card receipt that shows that it was run for $36.41!!!! I waited awhile for her to return so I could ask her about the discrepancy, but even though I was sitting at the bar and she is a bartender; she did not make it back around to me. Giving up on any further interaction with her, I left a 10% tip since I did take up some time at my seat and left. I will probably never return here again despite all the good experience I've had, this one has completely ruined it for me.
