I am writing to formally complain about the unacceptable service and lack of professional conduct I experienced during my recent attempts to secure a medical consultation. On August 16, 2026, I scheduled a virtual consultation for 1:30 PM. I was not informed beforehand that a specific Microsoft application was required. Here is the first issues, this company never informed the customer that a certain microsoft video app is needed for the virtual consultation, you dont find this out until you attempt to have the consultation. So instead of a video consultation I called the company for a phone consultation When I called for assistance, I was placed on an extended hold before being connected to a non-medical representative who was unable to answer my medical questions. There were many medical questions that he could not answer because he was not a doctor therefore he had no knowledge about. I specifically requested to speak with a doctor and was scheduled for a follow-up appointment at 3:00 PM the next day. On the morning of August 17, at 9:17 AM I called to confirm that I would be speaking with a actial physician. The rep confirmed that I would indeed be speaking to an actual doctor at 3:00 PM later today. I then asked would the company call me or should I call. I was told that I would receive a call at 3:00 PM. Despite this confirmation, I received no call at the scheduled time. When I followed up at 3:15 PM, I was again placed on a long hold. This rep looked at the notes in their system and confirmed that I was indeed scheduled to speak with an actual doctor. I then asked him if he was going to find an actual doctor. He then put me on hold, which lasted about 15 minutes. When he returned all he can do was apologize because he could not find an actual doctor or anyone for that matter for the second scheduled consultation. I then hung up the phone. Shortly after hanging up, I received a call from a representative who was rude and unprofessional, yet still not the medical professional I had been promised. The lack of coordination and failure to provide access to a qualified doctor is deeply concerning, especially given that this consultation pertains to a surgical procedure involving my eyesight. I expect a higher standard of transparency and reliability from a medical provider. I look forward to your prompt response regarding how you intend to address these systemic failures. I couldn't say enough great things. From my first call scheduling a consult, they were professional, courteous and scheduling my consult was fast and painless. My in-office experience was no different. They were thorough, clear about the process and honest about potential outcomes. My surgery was scheduled (at my request) two weeks from my consult. Payment is effortless through a link they send you and i believe they have payment plans available as well. The day of surgery took no longer than maybe an hour and a half with multiple other surgeries happening that day. Surgery itself takes about 15 minutes in total. They give you stress balls to grab on to as most people are probably anxious about lasers in their eyes. Being one of those people, i was gripping those things like they (insert colorful PG rated analogy). My eye sight is now better than i ever remember it being and the experience with this particular office was above standard. Before your surgery plan to buy a pack of preservative free artificial tears. The office gives you one or two bottles but you'll appreciate having more. read more

I recently had lasik done and the staff there was amazing! My consultation quickly turned into making an appointment to return a couple of days later as I had already done a ton of research beforehand. The staff were all very down to earth and patient. They walked me through the entire process and accommodated my budget. All the information they gave was accurate, there no sudden surprises or complications which gave me great comfort. Upon my follow up visit I learned my vision was better than 20/20!! They also have a great program where you can donate your old specs for a great cause! I would recommend this business to anyone looking for a safe, clean, friendly location for lasik!! This is by far one of the best decisions I have ever made!! read more

This place was AMAZING! I'm from Lansing and was a little nervous at first going somewhere for lasik surgery that wasn't near me or recommended to me by my eye doctor, but they did a phenomenal job! I was also skeptical because I was paying for the surgery through a groupon... but the whole thing was legit! I had no complications and all the nurses and doctors were very nice, especially Stephanie who I believe was an office manager. I visited this office for the first time about a month and a half ago. I was given a free exam to see if I'd even qualify for the procedure and when I moved forward with a procedure known as PRK, the staff went above and beyond to make sure all of my questions were answered and provided paperwork that came home with me that reminded me of what to expect during the healing process. A reminder I found very valuable through this process. This has truly been an amazing experience and I thank all who were involved in helping make this a reality for me. To go from considering the possibility of being blind someday soon to seeing better than I remember ever seeing is truly a blessing. I am thankful to God for allowing this procedure to go as planned and I will likely recommend The Lasik Vision Institute in Grand Rapids, MI the rest of my time on this planet. Posted JUL 14: SUPER DISAPPOINTED with this whole experience. Highly recommend steering CLEAR of this business. I did my best to be patient with them but ultimately have recognized they treat patients like a number they dont care about and DO NOT provide good service. My Experience: Jun 14- Called to inquire and book pre-lasik appointment. Availability the next day (Yay!) Jun 15- Arrived for my initial appointment to get my exam and ask any questions as well as get all the info available. Things went fine- someone took some tests, they said I qualified for lasik, had me speak to a 2nd person that answered questions and told me I could get surgery on JUL 9. They asked for me to call back to confirm time and everything because their Dr. was on maternity leave and they had another surgeon coming from Detroit. Whole appointment took about 30 mins. (No dilation) Jun 18- Decided I was comfortable with cost and procedure so I called to book the appointment for JUL 9. Spoke to someone who confirmed JUL 9 would work and they couldn't confirm time but someone would call me back soon to finalize. NO CALL BACK Jun 24- Called again- mentioned I should be booked on JUL 9 but never got a call back to confirm time. Rep I spoke to said I wasn't on the books but put me in touch with GR location again and I spoke to someone saying they were just waiting to hear when the surgeon was available but they would call me back that afternoon. NO CALL BACK Jun 25- Called again- Spoke to a rep who couldn't get ahold of anyone at the GR center so she said she left them an urgent message to call me back to confirm appt time on JUL 9. NO CALL BACK Jun 28- Called again- Spoke to a rep that put me in touch with "Jamie" in GR who does the scheduling that explained they were still waiting to hear back from the Surgeon but they would FOR SURE call me back by the end of the day tomorrow- the 29th. NO CALL BACK Pretty much silence since then. JUL 9 came and went and no one contacted me. I finally called them AGAIN on Jul 12 and they said it now looks like I didn't get the FULL initial appointment and they need me to come in for dilation on JUL 17 and then I can get Lasik on JUL 23. I have plans to be out of town, I couldn't believe the audacity to assume I would just pop in to complete the appointment that should have been don't the first visit I was there and when I asked why I never got called back and why no one said I didn't get the full exam on the first appointment the response was "I'm not authorized to explain any of that". YEAH. NO THANKS. If you cant return a phone call, you cant cut open my eyeballs with a laser. DONT GET TREATED LIKE A NUMBER IN THE DELI LINE AT WAL-MART! I'm not sure what happened to my Yelp review, but I will repost it! I would not recommend this place to anyone due to their employee Jamie, who handles the financing. He was completely rude and condescending. I came in for a consultation, and the experience was completely fine and I paid in full a few days later with cash. A couple of days later they are promoting ads on the radio for lasik with $1000 off, so I called customer service to ask about the offer, nothing else, I only gave them my name. The rep was very nice and said that she saw in the system I was scheduled for surgery and I had already paid, and would adjust my payment to give me the discount they were now offering. I'm thinking great, what haven't I done this years ago...not. She said she had to transfer me to the GR location to talk to Jamie. She transfers my call and Jamie picks up saying "What's the problem?" "What's the problem?" And I said "Excuse,me?" almost on the verge of tears and I explain that I heard the ad and the customer service hotline rep said they could adjust it for me. And he immediately was giving me all types of excusing and being rude talking over me until I told him I had already paid in full. Then he went silent and softened his voice and just said "Oh" then told me he would sit down with me on survey day to make sure we took care of it. I said okay and hung up. After that phone call, I kept thinking about it and getting upset with how I was treated so when they opened again on Monday I called and asked for a refund, of course they had to transfer me to Jamie. I was so upset just hearing his stupid voice that I cried. What a disgusting man to make someone feel small for the sake of money. read more

The surgery went great. The surgeon was very knowledgeable, and I had no complications following PRK surgery. However, the wait time at this place is ridiculous. On my first visit, I was stuck waiting in the tv room for 30-45 minutes because they forgot about me. On my surgery day, I was told to be here at 9:15am, and after waiting in the lobby without seeing someone for almost three hours, I finally got my surgery around 1pm. For a quick 10 minute post operation checkup, I waited over an hour in the lobby. The surgery side is great; however, their scheduling majorly needs to be fixed as I was not the only one stuck waiting for hours. Staff is super upbeat and friendly; however, I felt every technician/eye doctor/office staff had a different answer about the details of my surgery and recovery time (how much pain I would be in, surgery time, how long for my vision to be correct, etc.) I understand that results are different for everyone, but the lack of consistency in answers among staff made me very uneasy before surgery, especially with getting PRK instead of Lasik. Because of my positive surgery results and cost, I would recommend this location to others, just be prepared to spend a lot of time in the waiting room! read more
