About 20 minutes after we got there, a man came up to me and was asking me to move so he could get his jacket. It was a miscommunication, and I thought it was under mine on the windowsill while he reached under my stool, which caused my elbow to knock into my half full pint of beer. My friends grabbed napkins, and we immediately started cleaning it up (the man walked away without a word). After this, an employee came up with a mop. He asked us to move (no please) so he could mop under the table. Totally understandable! Then he told me to "Pick up your jacket," (again impolitely), referring to a jacket on the floor that did not belong to me. I said "Oh, that's not mine," as an automatic response. He then said "Well you can still pick it up." I picked it up. As a service worker myself, I am familiar with rude customers, so I attempted to clarify that I wasn't trying to be rude as a simple courtesy. He cut me off and said "I don't care" I continued trying to finish my sentence, I tried about 4 times with him continuously cutting me off and being extremely rude and dismissive towards me, telling me to stop "running my mouth" and saying "yet you're still talking." I stopped trying to speak and my friends and I immediately left. We ended up going home immediately after because of how much that had soured the night. As someone who works in food/hospitality, I was appalled by this. Never EVER would I speak to a customer like that, even if they were actually being rude to me. He was continuously scolding me like a teacher or parent. I can't help but feel it's because my friends and I are women in our early twenties, but I'll make no assumptions. Either way, I sadly will not be returning ever, which sucks because I loved the atmosphere and the bartender. I hope that man was just having a bad day and is not constantly like that.

No food but people eat pizza and tacos from nearby spots in here sometimes. Place opens at 3 and happy hour goes until 7 but the vibes here are also impeccable at 1 am. 9pm on a Friday is a very lively and packed and I will drag my group here when out and about because it's the best spot but you'll mostly catch me here at 3 pm on a Tuesday sitting in the window and writing in my journal. This is a third space for a lot of people. Looking around this afternoon I see one person reading, two people drawing/writing, four or five people chilling on their phones, and there are a couple friends sitting and quietly chatting over a couple good pints, also old friends popping in just to see eachother. And here I am catching up on my correspondences. This is a bar where people can talk to each other and that is invaluable in our increasingly isolating society. Reclaimed wood floors, deteriorating bar stools. Good windows for people watching on ave A. Oh and the very best part is the music!! If you like classic rock this place is THE F****** BEST!!! Pls don't come in and try to ruin the vibes. Forgive my snobbery but if you don't like classic rock there are a million other bars and events to go to in this city playing your top 40 or whatever, but I come in here in large part because I love the music they play.

I'm not a big beer drinker but I've never heard of $3 beer, especially in NYC. We decided to go to DOS for happy hour before heading out to dinner. I met my friend there who was seated at the bar, and I had to wait about 10 minutes before I could place my order. It didn't bother me, I was busy catching up. It's definitely a dark, dive spot. The bathroom was clean. The service was good. There's a $10 minimum to use a credit card. It's a good spot that I would visit again.

I waited 25 minutes to order drinks. I ordered three Tito's w/club soda. He used the cheap vodka (bottle with red label) from the well rack. He copped an attitude when I reminded him I ordered Tito's vodka. He replied back saying he's not going to make me new drinks unless I paid for the ones he just made. If I want him to make new drinks, I have to wait. I know what a bottle of Tito's looks like. I'm not waiting another 25 minutes for him to make my correct drinks in a plastic cup. Get it right. Listen to your customers. It's not that complicated pouring Tito's vodka straight out of a bottle & using gun for club soda. Avoid at all costs!!! We're never going back!!! STEPH JUDGEMENT: An unexpected outpost of the dive bar originally from Vegas…read more I spotted this place on Google Maps while planning for our NY trip, and at first I didn't think it could be related to the bar of the same name in Vegas. If you've ever been, you'd be hard-pressed to believe that it could be re-created anywhere else, but here it was, a fascinating simulacrum some 2,500 miles from the original location. It was larger than the Vegas location, but otherwise looked incredibly similar, with a plethora of graffiti and stickers on its walls, and questionable videos playing on the little tv behind the bar. This location did have a pleasant little outdoor seating area out the back, which would be impossible in Vegas, so bonus points for that. They also have their infamous ASS JUICE, which I've never tried, but had heard "wasn't too bad". We kept things simple with beer and bourbon and had a pleasant time taking in the atmosphere and chatting with the bartender.
